It's a little weird. Most of us have generally shied away from a lot of democratic processes for what I would assume is simplicities sake. Because the RP didn't start out with the same complexity it ended up with, and because most of the participants are Americans (or at least Westerners) who mostly at home with Western pre-concepts of politics, Our political systems are sort of simplistic. We still have monarchies, with Ethiopia being an established unbroken monarchy and Germany being something of a revolutionary monarchy. Though Spain is often called the fascist equivalent, it's still a Republic with a more or less Laissez Faire economy. Spain seems more like a state where McCarthyism emanated from the Executive rather than a lower-level politician and has not been successfully rebuked. But it's difficult to tell, really, because we all have pre-established viewing points that ignore most of our politics and favors a certain few designated leaders. With Denmark, you have to look at what you have. Denmark isn't really going to be a good military state when their neighbor is Germany unless they decide to align with Germany, which would mean (I presume) a sort of old-school conservative European state would me more likely. The alternative would be aligning with the Baltic socialist states, which would be a gamble and probably not prudent since the Baltic states are weak (Finland rules over ice and the Western Communes are bad off enough that they field cavalry.) Their one major resource would be oil from the North Sea I suppose. I suspect Germany would be your best buyer, which would support your aligning with them...
