Ok. I've had my drink. I'm not mad. It's just... You're probably not going to change the way you've been doing things for years but, It would behoove you to use subjective language. Like, "attempts to," or "aims at," or, "will do X unless anything stops him," etc. And especially don't follow up an attempted action with any subsequent action. If you open a pit on the floor, don't also throw a bomb down the hole, because you don't know if the person actually fell or not. Just keep in mind whether or not you're going to be perceived as rude by the other person. Their character may be a god or something, but you blithely assume they aren't. That's pretty insulting. I'm going to assume my words fall on deaf eyes. Still, these free rp's are very loosely monitored and very divergent from logic and coherence. I don't take them seriously. I haven't decided if I want to play in them or not, because of people like Tyki, making them a bad place for the rest of us. I won't contend where I'm not having fun. I'll just jet and go where people are worth typing to.
i understand... but considering the fact that a. when i do something i expect it to be met with a response either saying why it didn't work instead of saying "here is my face. punch it to your hearts content before i rage" b. expecting some form of proactiveness from other people regarding their characters instead of expecting me to be the one to say things like "try to" c. the fact that i'm typing as if i was expecting it to land.... the point of combat is that i do something to my enemy, expecting certain things to happen... whether that happens is reliant upon your response... also. just because someone has a different style of writing as you is no reason to instantly rage at them and expect them to change because it's outside you're comfort zone. i have adapted my style of rping over time to be able to do many things, but my stance on combat is from someone that has actually fought and knows how it works so i type as such. do instead of calling me a blight upon free roleplays you should look at yourself and see that such inflexibility and reliance on other people is what's making free roleplays and in fact roleplays in general lose their worth
