Neither of your self-destruct plans make any sense:
13 trillion dollar mech being blown up because the character's crazy? Makes zero sense even though he was called away, why would you just destroy it rather than have it picked up by a ship. Mental sickness and being an idiot are two totally different things. Blowing something up just because you have the ability to is not mental sickness, you're not crazy, you're dumb.

Magical wizard woman seeing a giant robot blowing herself up for the greater good? That would make sense, if it weren't for the titan fighting said giant robot who didn't regard her as a high enough form of life to even converse with. She knew Erde was fighting him and still decided that killing herself was the only way to win.
