texarkana is a boarder city between Texas and Arkansas, right along the bible belt. For the longest time this city has been fairly small and easily forgotten, not holding a lot of interest for the supernatural community except for the couple that have a special tie to the area. There has been a big boom in economical growth as well as population in the past 10 years, and it has begun to make the native supernaturals restless, not only due to the growing number of people and a disruption to their routine, but because it has begun to be noticed on a grander scale. Songs and movies have begun to mention the city, the completion of another highway has made it a perfect hub between Little Rock, Dallas, Houston, and Shrievport. The camarilla has decided to stake a claim in this mostly unclaimed land. Hunters keep a watchful eye on the waters to catch any new coming blasphemies, the local wildlife is enraged by the destruction of their ones peaceful home. Refugees from hurricane Katrina refuse to leave and begin building new webs of intrigue. You, as young, and and sometime obscure, Cainites, this makes a perfect opportunity to get your fingers into one of the most powerful political structures in the vampire society. The new price has arrived without a political house, hoping to draw from the locals. You watch as the once abandoned Grim Motel slowly becomes a renovated peak of modern splendor. A motel, a convention hall, and most importantly the house of the new Elysium. ------------------------------
Texarkana is a real place, and I am keeping it mostly true to form as far as the layout and buildings except as I note in here and a small but of expansion as the highway mentioned is not quite done in real life. So if you get curious or lost, feel free to look up a map. Or Google any buildings or parks I mention to get a better feel for it. Exceptions. I am adding another 10,000 people to the current population. Commercial and residential areas will be spread out a bit further than they are now. Downtown has been recently refurbished and repopulated, inspired as well by the construction on the Grim. This is a purely human reaction and no ties to the prince or any other supernatural can be found to cause this sudden interest in rebuilding downtown. Buildings I have added. St. Alexander's Home and Hospital to the Mentally Ill: or to the locals "St. Alexander's" this is a two fold mental hospital, one for the clinically and one for the criminally, insane. Built before the city was founded by an ancestor of St. Alexander. It boasts a remarkable success rate in treating patients, and is a well recommended facility for those seeking mental help. It also holds (separated by a steel and concrete wall, tight unit security, and a host of other fail safes) a harsh and solid facility for the criminally insane. Many inmates have come out of their psychosis well enough to go to court in sound mind and body for an appeal, though, oddly, most of those that do plead guilty to their crimes. Estis Diner: this quaint little bar and grill was an established Elysium before the city began to spread. Said to be owned by a man named Alex, it is a medieval themed establishment, with a surprising amount of authentication to its period food and decor. One could easily believe this is how they ate back then. Nestled a couple of blocks away from the Grim, this restaurant (what was formally Cinema 218) holds very Christian hours of closing at 8 and being closed on Sundays, though, as some of the staff live in the apartment upstairs, there is always someone around, and the door is always open, to select few. People of note (starting with first Elysium, and adding in order of appearance) Dominic Maltivan Prince, venture Alexander McThane Local, owner of Estis Diner, Malkavian [img]http://dphclub.com/static/posts/2008-02/thumbs/dphclub.com_1203597098calendar13.jpg[/img] Maman Moombi New Orleans voodoo priest, Samedi Thaina, Fire-In-Mind Werewolf ambassador. You can not be under 11th gen. You will be working for the prince, at least to start. There is pvp allowed, but please don't make it the theme of your character. Normal rules apply about god moding and common sense and all that. I am going to do stats just like the tabletop and bloodlines game, but no dice rolling, it is strictly for reference. I ask that you keep track of your blood and willpower, and be honest, because cheating just cheapens it, and I have a tendency to keep track too and I'll get upset if you try to cheat. Name: Clan: Gen: Haven: (pm me if you want help on picking one) Nature: (7/5/3) Strength: Dexterity: Stamina: Charisma: Manipulation: Appearance: Perception: Intelligence: Wits: Abilities (I'm not listing them. 13/9/5 only type it out if you put ranks in it) Backgrounds: (5) Disciplines: (3) Blood: Will: Humanity: (I'm not bothering with virtues via stats right now) Merits and flaws (optional, though fun) 20 freebee points Appearance: (I prefer a picture, but no anime) Brief history: (including why you came to Texarkana) Useful link to help you through
This should get you started while I continue working on it.
