Charlie suddenly felt that he couldn't punch the beast, and understood why. it was the Egyptian girl, and this made him mad. he shouted at her furiously "what in the name of Tartarus are you doing? do you Egyptians know how to fight monsters or do you sit have tea with them?!"

he then turned to glare at John, "Go to Hades moron!" 

he really wanted to bash the creature's face in but the spell was preventing him from doing it so he had to wait until the spell was done with.
