Why exactly did the humans start the whole war? How was it justified in their eyes? I mean for the rulers plain old greed would work but what did they tell the masses?No one believes they are evil and 'For the Shinies' doesn't seem like enough justification to rebel against the literal creator goddess, especially not once the first caskets start to be brought back home. Also what was the effect on humanity once the war was lost? I get the impression they went the way Germany did post WW 2 complete with their own version of the Nuremberg trails.

Basically I don't really get a feel for the culture of the various races.
