When the OP said shields, what came to mind for me was something to the effect of shields in Borderlands, Bioshock Infinite, Halo, etc., not literal shields... I do kinda like Zex's idea for weapons, but I feel like that's going too in-depth for something as small as that. When people are running around with sniper rifles, a sword-and-shield mech will be next to useless...
PILOT Name: Johnathan 'J6' Carrier VI Age: 31 Height: 6'1" Weight: 182 lbs. Background: Bandit/ Bounty Hunter (I wasn't sure which one he would be categorized under, perhaps you could clear it up?) Bio: John, being born into the rather prestigious Carrier family, received only the best of treatment and education. Or at least, that's what he had been told. He didn't really know what life was like for others, as he was isolated out in the west with his family, in a surprisingly underpopulated area, where they lived, only cows and tumbleweeds to keep them company. So, John lived his simple life, learning everything there was to know about ranching, hunting, and spitting in a spittoon, and about nothing else. But he didn't complain. He didn't really mind life out in the country, it wasn't too hard, and he got to relax quite a bit. But it wasn't always fun and games on the ranch. Not too far out was a small-ish town, in a rather desert-y area of Texas, lived another 'prestigious' family, by the name of Capper. The Cappers had always been rivals with the Carriers, for as long as anyone could remember. However, no one actually remembered why. This, logically, should have marked the end of the feud, but both families were to proud to admit that sort of thing. So, on went the fighting, but honestly, it was more of a routine procedure. They would pass by, insults would be flung, guns be drawn. Sometimes someone would die, and even more curses would be shouted, and then it all began again the next day. However, when the news of Steel Giants reached their isolated parts of the desert, the simple family feud became an all out war. The families both had quite a bit of money stored away, thanks to various investments in gold mines and oil fields. It wasn't long before massive artillery shots rung out across the plains, while massive iron feet crashed down upon cattle, in a deadly game of war. Johnathan piloted one of the giants for his family, as he was the best shot in between his six brothers. One of his younger brothers had quite a knack for machinery, and as such, ran maintenance for them. John didn't understand much of that. He understood how to kill things. However, Johnathan tired of this feud rather quickly. It simply wasn't his style, mostly because it raked in very little money, which he liked. A lot. So, he left (with his mech) to make his own name in the country, one that struck fear into those who heard it. Description: FRAME: Name: Homewrecker Model J6-96700 'J6', 'The Ghost Snake' Description: Weight Class:

Arms- A single rifle, along with a six-shooter (4)[/*]
Armor- (10)[/*]
Agility- (1)[/*]
Weapons Descriptions: J6 wields an extremely powerful rifle, a single shot known to put holes in Tier 5 armor. Its main drawback being that it is bolt action, and uses regular iron sights. As such, it cannot be used at close range, but it cannot be used too far away, either. Despite the lack of optical sights, when J6 is at the correct range, his marksmanship is rivaled by only a select few. His six shooter packs a surprising punch for such a small weapon, but can only hold six shots at a time, making it rather problematic. It is used mainly for finishing off enemies who get too close, as J6 cannot outrun... anyone, really. Additional Notes: The J6 Frame was most surely not made for movement. Being rather old, it simply takes large shuddering steps to get where it needs to go. This frame is excellently suited for John's style of combat, which is picking off targets from a distance. In order to compensate for the nearly nonexistent movement, the armor is nearly impenetrable, often allowing him to simply outlast his enemies supply of ammunition. This mech is extremely old, but John keeps it, for 'sentimental value'. Past Encounter: By now, news has traveled, and almost everyone has heard of the 'Ghost Snake', as many call the legend. The name alone strikes fear into many pilots. It was back during the Australian Attacks, a rather dreaded date. Australia and their armies of mechs began a hostile invasion of what was left of the US, grinding many lives into the floor. The legend speaks of the Austrailians 64th Regiment, as they had a mission to take control of Texas. With their mechs, they crushed almost all opposition, until one night that they were patrolling. The air was warm, and the night was ominously quiet. They didn't think much of it until a gunshot rang out, and one of the men crashed to the ground, his mech almost entirely disabled by a shot to the central controls. It was all he could do to keep life support on. As the other pilots whirled around, guns ready, the 'snake' leapt up and bit another and another, severed fuel lines flailing about, while chaotic screams echoed over the radios. One man was left in the chaos, and manged to spot their shooter, a frame silhouetted in the night. This man, Sargent Reagan, did one of the stupidest things he had done, and ran at the mysterious shooter, guns blazing, boiling with a rage for his dead comrades. Reagan somehow lived to tell the tale, albeit bruised and battered. "I-i-i swear, that t-t-thing is a monster! It was drenched in b-blood, and I-i-i-i kept shooting it, but it was like he wasn't even t-there... he just ate the bullets, not even f-f-flinching. I-i-i used up all of my SMG rounds... then he just w-w-walked at me... I wanted to r-r-run, but I was too scared. I just stood there, while he stared at me, with those cold green eyes. He c-could've killed a bull just by looking at him. I think he t-t-tried to say something, but I didn't hear it, so he pulled out his pistol real slow like, and then he g-goes to shoot me, but he doesn't... he... THAT MONSTER! It shot out my l-l-l-legs, pumping three shots into each, and then he just looked at me for w-w-what seemed like an hour. T-t-thats all I remember before I b-blacked out..." Of course, no one believes this. No one mech could do that, right? Right?
