Heroes knows best on that front, though I've always pictured the universe Pieces takes place in as similar to Kevin Hearne's [i]Iron Druid[/i] chronicles: Every mythology, fairy tail and supernatural something you can think of are present and accounted for all together.

Though Hearne goes a step further and adds in Middle Earth, Comic book characters and more, but he's a funny guy like that.
