Art is her favorite past time. Dislikes: -Spicy foods, she's always had a sensitive tongue. -Large storms, normally had to deal with these by herself when young and has grown quite terrified of them. -The dark. Past issues, though the fear stuck. -Meat and fish, she's a vegetarian and these items make her rather sick. -Tight spaces. Eli hates to be enclosed in a single place for too long and begins to hyperventilate if she happens to stay in one for an extended period of time. -Most people. (Depending on her mood) -Herself at times. Personality: Eli is quiet, to say the least. She holds her tongue in most social situations, only speaks when spoken to out of habit, and always seems to wander around with her eyes glued to the ground unless conversing with someone . Evidently, this gives her a polite and almost mysterious appearance, but in actuality she is somewhat short-tempered and clumsy. While her upbringing seemed to mold her into a shy, vulnerable girl, her mouth will at times jab out at people who she finds annoying and she is prone to fits of anger or sadness if her patience is snapped (normally occurs after dealing with certain people for too long or after getting stressed out). Quick witted, she will almost always have a snappy remark but often with holds saying it, forcing herself to be kind out of a thirst for companionship. Cynical, Eli has trouble trusting most people, and as such is rather bad at making friends, though she does enjoy the company of others at times. She tries her best to be nice, but finds that she always says something rude or mean, which leads to mild states of depression that are fixed after a while of just sitting by herself. Judges people at first glance, which is something she is trying to fix about herself, and will at times avoid people who might appear bad but are actually just trying to help. She is also very stubborn and open minded, and will speak up if she knows something immoral is being done in front of her. Along with all that, she is also very insecure, especially about her rude personality and appearance, and is confused when people try to be kind or lovey-dovey with her thanks to this. When alone, she is much more calm, and will often be found painting or drawing in the fields or forest, her eyes taking in every articulate detail they can catch. Nature is her favorite thing to be around, and as such she will often be found outside of the town, exploring the mountain or forest or fields of river. Rather clumsy, and easily flustered, there are times when Eli gets into rather awkward situations in which she just stutters around and hits anyone within the area out of embarrassment. A surprisingly hard worker, Elizabeth takes work seriously and with her stubbornness she often tries her hardest to help with the tasks she is given. There are times where she will even work herself to exhaustion just to get something done. If she does manage to secure some nice friends, Eli is much more relaxed and teasing, though will often question their interest in her and may even stress over the thought of them hating her. Background: Somewhere, far from the Valley, was a city. And in this city was an expensive two floor apartment, and in this apartment was a family, a rather bad family, which contained two controlling parents and three, quiet, polite, broken children. This family, one summer night, welcomed a fourth child into their household, a girl named Elizabeth. She was different from the other children though, she grew up to be open and bright and, in her parents eyes, unfit for the family standards. Their children HAD to be polite and quiet, like dolls to show of to their friends and co-workers and higher ups. So, they decided to 'fix' her, they took away things she enjoyed, separated her from friend groups, and lectured her often. There were even times where she would be locked in her closet for back sassing one of them, and she would sit in there for a mere hour, crying because of the dark and the tightness. They yelled, arranged playdates with children she didn't care to know, and at times even hit her. And they molded her into another perfect doll, snipped her innocence early and just used her for social gatherings, just like her brothers. Her three brothers were the only people she spoke to, and that was only when their parents were out at work. The spoke of music and TV and art and hate and love. Tyler and Jessie, the twins, spoke of wanting to be rock musicians, but knew that mom and dad would not allow anything so vulgar and loud. Tom, the oldest and wisest, wanted to be an actor, despite their parents badgering him about a medical career. When asked what she wished to do, Elizabeth replied with a simple: "To get out of here." They all grew up, and even after Tom, Tyler, and Jessie left home Elizabeth tried her best to keep in touch with them, until her parents cut off communication with them suddenly. Elizabeth likes to think that it was because they followed their dreams. Eventually, mom and dad became too controlling, as they tried to force Elizabeth to go to a college she didn't wish to go to, trying to make her pursue a career in business, and they even tried to force men into her life. On her seventeenth birthday, she finally became fed up. After the 'celebration' (which involved a small cake and a gift card) she went back to her room as she normally did, but instead of falling asleep in complete silence, she gathered what she could (a bag full of clothing, art supplies, and every ounce of money hidden within her walls) and climbed down the side of the building from the fire escape. She left behind her phone, and anything they could use to contact her, and traveled the land, searching for a safe haven. After a year of train hopping, odd jobs, and homeless nights, she managed to find a nice town in the middle of a vast valley, and is currently using the last of her money to pay for her time in an inn while job hunting. Skills: - Hard Worker: Takes a job seriously, no matter what, and will try her best to help in anyway she can. - Art: A skilled artist, Eli's pieces are often representations of her feelings and as such are rather abstract. There are many scenery pictures, though, as the Valley's natural beauty has recently inspired her to draw more from life. - Quick Wit: Her tongue is a weapon and she will gladly use it if so needed. - Calm: In much more drastic situations, Eli is surprisingly calm and clear-minded. Relationships: - Alex Garnet: Has seen the girl once or twice while wandering, and knows that she is the bartender of the Azalea Bar. Doesn't have any ill will towards her as of yet, seeing as they haven't conversed before, and is somewhat curious about what Alex is actually like. Eli has plans to visit the bar soon, but has been a bit antsy about it as she's never been to a bar before. - Gaku Yamamoto: Normally sees Gaku around the Inn and sometimes he will greet her, to which she will reply with a greeting back. Gaku's punkish appearance sort of turned her away from him the first time she met the boy, and hearing him talk so bluntly to others didn't help with that, but she has heard his guitar playing before while lounging in the forest and has since wanted to ask him about his music. - Everett Micheals: Eli has heard about the calm and collected doctor while running some errands, and might have seen him once or twice by his clinic but hasn't shared a formal word with him. Might go in for a check-up soon, though. - Isis Thorn: Has seen the woman in her shop while exploring the town, and they have at least greeted each other once. Eli likes the flower shop and enjoys the bouquets and arrangements that Isis has created. Sometimes she stops by to relax and maybe even sketch. - Izzie McKenzie: Sees the woman in the Inn mostly, and finds her attitude and teasing to be rather annoying, but has withheld any rudeness for the time being. Eli is rather jealous of Izzie's beauty and personality, though she doesn't show it. Izzie has been rather friendly towards her, though, and has tried to start conversations, but Eli can't really handle her yet. - Henry Manteel: Eli has heard of the farmer but has never actually met him. Wishes to inquire him about his vegetables and fruit, though. - Rosemary Bates: Has seen the girl around before, but hasn't spoken to her. Has been meaning to go into the shop though, as Eli is running out of usable outfits and gadgets. They might get along, though (or maybe not at all) -Alice Rems: Hasn't seen or heard of this girl. Might be interested with her cooking ability though, as Eli is a rather okay chef herself. - Brent Roless: (Have yet to meet I believe) A rather strange character, Eli is somewhat afraid of him and his eccentric, hobo type ways. While he does treat her kindly, Brent is somewhat competitive, especially in a work environment, and Eli normally seems as though she doesn't care for that side of him while in reality is somewhat amused by it. He isn't safe from her sharp remarks, but he isn't exactly a thorn in her side either, and I would like to think they would form some type of friendly rivalry/ friendship. Other: Doesn't speak much about her past, unless it is to someone she trusts entirely. There are numerous scars on her back from her parents and is still considered a lost child by her family and the police.
