Way of the Dragon Way of the Dragon is a martial arts roleplay taking place in the fictional land of Kinsun. Kinsun resembles Ancient China, and the people here are called kians and they resemble the Chinese and Japanese. "Way of the Dragon" refers to the strongest martial art style in Kinsun, although only one man is known to actually know the style in the current day. Kinsun was once ruled by the Song Dynasty. When the Song Dynasty collapsed the land was thrown into a tumultuous war, a period now known as the Warring States period. During this time there lived three heroes: Wu Zhou, Kang Xu, and Shu Liang. All three had been trained in the Way of the Dragon, a powerful and deadly form of martial arts. The three heroes trained dozens of other loyal soldiers in the Way of the Dragon known as the Dragon Monks. After a seven-year campaign, the three heroes had restored peace and order to the land. Shu Liang became the Emperor, Kang Xu became the military governor, and Wu Zhou continued training more Dragon Monks. For fifteen years the empire experienced a golden age. They drove back the Cha-Shan and the Horse Demons and maintained order in the land. Unfortunately, Kang Xu became radicalized. He constantly demanded more soldiers, more funds, and imposed martial law without Shu's consent. Shu and Wu grew worrisome and so decided to strip Kang of his power. In an act of rage Kang marched on the Imperial Palace and attempted to abdicate the throne. Kang Xu battled Shu Liang and Wu Zhou while his forces marched on the Dragon Monk's temple. Shu Liang was killed, but Wu Zhou finally managed to impale Kang Xu through the heart. When loyal Imperial soldiers arrived, Kang's forces surrendered. Unfortunately, the Dragon Monks had been defeated and only Wu Zhou remained. Wu Zhou, feeling hopeless and guilty, exiled himself to the small village of Setting Sun. Here he opened up a dojo to train martial arts, although he has never trained anyone in the Way of the Dragon anymore. The title of Emperor fell to Shu Tzong, Shu Liang's oldest son. Fifty years has passed since then. You will be playing a student in Master Wu's dojo. The roleplay, however, will quickly move away from the dojo as your characters embark on a quest to determine the fate of the Imperial Empire. Expect to face soldiers, mercenaries, bandits, as well as ghosts, spirits, demons, and fearsome creatures. Your group will be given a set of objectives/choices and it is up to you how you accomplish them. These choices will ultimately determine the outcome of the roleplay.
