-Name: Jay-Jay -Gender: Female. -Type: A human demonhost-turned-mage. -Appearance: Jay-Jay is an attractive Caucasian woman with long red hair and bright hazel eyes. She stands at just over six foot in height and weighs in at a little under one-hundred and fifty pounds. Jay-Jay is decidedly average, when compared to the more fantastic members of the Bane and Hoyle group. She is not particularly toned or fit, with nothing more than a jogger’s physique but she maintains at least a consciousness of her appearance. She dresses in somewhat average, every-day clothing and doesn’t really belong to any prominent sub-culture that might decide her attire. Her once prominent tan has lost some of its lustre due to a year of nearly constantly studying with Oro-Mai, leaving her skin a delightful olive colour. The demon inside, who now refers to herself as of Katago̱gí̱, is an enigma in a number of ways. For one, she admits her heritage to a grand total of two people: one of which is Jay-Jay herself and the other is a Norse raven demi-god who happens to teach the host of said demon. Another part of her enigmatic charm is her ability to change forms. The demon has a few factors that remain the same: She is always a female, always wreathed in fire and is always presented with a pair of horns on her head, but things like height and just how far on the human/demon scale she presents herself is seemingly under her beck and call. -Age: 23 -Powers/Traits: Since her last adventure with the Bain and Hoyle Company, Jay-Jay has undergone a great deal of training under the watchful eye of the Munin, Oro-Mai. The focus of her training has been on training her as a mage and under the tutelage of the ancient bird she has excelled. Her already prominent Pyromancy skills have been risen from the skills of a journeyman to the talents of a master; the powers once exclusive to the demon are now shared by Jay-Jay. Atop her pyromantic talents, Jay-Jay has started to learn a number of new magical schools: She can access bound items, summon a small, mute familiar and has learned to communicate via telepathic link. Jay-Jay has lost some of her stranger tendencies under the Munnin’s tutelage, and has instead begun to depend upon her magic more and more. Despite this though, it is impossible to discount the reason Jay-Jay originally joined the Bain and Hoyle company, and the powers that reason has. The demon inside Jay-Jay, who eventually conceded to being referred to as ‘Kata’ is still an unpredictable force whose powers have grown in direct correlation with her host. Should Jay-Jay transform, Kata can access and amplify Jay-Jay’s magics multiple times over. Outside of her magical training, Jay-Jay pursues a number of hobbies: She takes an almost oxymoronic delight in cooking, considering her pyromania; she enjoys listening to music and has a very American love of coffee, guns and kung-fu films. -Background: The quirky demon host has changed a lot in the time since her involvement in the Max debacle. Unlike most of the group Jay-Jay developed positively as a result the ordeal surrounding the first-born, and thanks to Kata’s manoeuvrings managed to acquire a magical tutor in the form of Oro-Mai. It cost the demon a few more secrets than she would like to have given, but Ori-Mai’s tendencies to horde knowledge have allowed the secret to remain exclusive amongst three individuals. Prior to the events involving the first-born vampire, Jay-Jay was hired into the company more for her own sake than her natural talents. She was daughter to a former employee and a magus of considerable talents who went by the name of Maven and after a failed attempt to pluck knowledge from her mother’s archives, Jay-Jay was subjected to a near life-ending conjuration and subsequent assault by a number of demons who wished for a host. Among the black torrent of competing hell spawn, a single flicker of bright light shone through: a strange demon that asked not for subjugation, but for cohabitation. That demon was Katago̱gí̱. Kata was and remains an anomaly among demon kind. She didn’t and doesn’t seem to be malevolent in any way and has, on several occasions, gone so far as to actively protect her host. It seeks something from Jay-Jay that, to this day, is unknown to all except host and demon. The demon has however, let a few things slip: namely that she is some form of Ifrit -a demon born at the first flicker of a flame- and that she has on at least a few occasions heavily associates herself with ancient Greece.
