After a bumpy ride in the chopper they made their way back to base. Azura was rushed into the OR to remove the bullet. Aiden could do nothing for his partner now, and he felt more useless than ever. Eventually the doctor came out and updated him to Azura's condition. The bullet had damaged a large amount of tissue in her leg and she may not be able to fight for some time. Fat chance, Aiden thought to himself. "Can I see her now?" he asked the doctor. "She's still asleep from the anesthetics, but you may see her." He replied. Her room was dark and smelled of medicine. Aiden could hear a faint sob coming from the bed. He pulled up a chair from the wall and sat beside her bed, pretending he didn't know she was awake or crying. He interlocked his fingers in front of his face and leaned forward. "Sigh." He sat there in silence praying for Azura. He knew she wouldn't take the new well, and he knew she hated hospitals even more.
