No. I'm taking the bible literally. And you apparently can't come up with a counter argument for why your loving, omnipotent, omniscient god, would unleash the most horrifying of evils on the very things he loves when he has the power to empower them with whatever he wants them to learn immediately and without pain, making the pain itself absolutely pointless.
