- Kathy ‘Here I go, I’ve done it again.’ Kathy winced a little as she listened to Crash. ‘Great. I’m probably the only one that could possibly get under his skin this much. Now I really know first-hand why they say jealousy is an ugly emotion.’ She thought sadly. Watching the array of troubled emotions fleet across Crash’s face, she felt worse and worse about bringing the girl back up in the first place. ‘It wasn’t even his fault. None of it was. Why do I keep talking like I’m trying to blame him for something? … I really hate myself right now.’ She was listening carefully, but she stopped once to give Eric an apologetic smile. She wanted to tell him, ‘Sorry that you had to listen to such an awkward conversation on your first day here,’ but there were only so many things that could be said through eye-contact alone. “Despite what you’re thinking, I only take care of people I genuinely care about...” “… I know.” She frowned a little at her own words, “I mean, after all the dumb things I said it might seem strange but… I was just feeling insecure about something and ended up taking it out on you.” Finally managing to admit a bit of what she truly thought, she let out another sigh. ‘With all these things that go through your head, you’d think you’d have a better way with words Kathy.’ She thought, scolding herself. A look of genuine surprise and shock was on Kathy’s face when she heard him apologize. “No no, I’m the one that was bad. I’m really sorry, I was just kind of pushing my own thoughts on you. For all I know she might really have been hoping you’d get her closer to Cyrus or Criston. I… Don’t know what I was thinking. I seem to be messing up a lot lately, sorry for troubling you like this. I’m really sorry.” Nodding as Crash asked to move away from the conversation she agreed, “Yeah. I really don’t know what I was thinking when I brought it up in the first place.” “It’s really good to see you Zivon. Are you alright now?” Happy to see him up and about, Kathy smiled as she greeted him. After waiting for Crash to finish she replied, “Dinner sounds good. Oh, which room are you in? I can also come in a little earlier to help prep if you’d like.” Then remembering that she had left him at the mercy of the doctor she added, “And… Um... Sorry about leaving you at Kiwi’s mercy. I mean, she’s scary but she gets the job done right..?” "What happened last night? I mean, it's alright if you don't want to talk about it. Sounds like it was pretty serious." “As weird as this may sound, we basically had a rampaging demon get into a fight with a fire-breathing bully during the welcome party.” Trying to summarize the events better than she had for the vice-principle the night before, Kathy told Eric what happened. “They ended up making a giant hole in the student center and setting the building on fire. Kiwi, she’s the doctor in the infirmary, probably had a lot of fun with all the students that were unfortunate enough to get caught up in all of that.”
