Well, neither of them had directly answered Garret's question, but the human's response told him the answer anyway. That being not long given her doll had neglected to give her master an explanation until just now, and not a very good one at that. So being the wealth of information that he was, the least Garret could do was give this girl a proper explanation. "Ahem, we are both dolls. Now a doll is a being from another realm separate from this one. We come to this realm in order to protect you humans from the Puppeteers, beings who are also not of this realm. A Puppeteer possesses a human being and turns them into a marionette, that is, a human with doll like powers under the complete control of the Puppeteer. Now, us dolls instead of possessing humans form contracts with them in order to anchor ourselves in this world. Our sole purpose for doing so is to hunt down and slay those Puppeteers as we are the only ones who can." Garret gave his fellow doll a pointed look, his irritation at her lack of an explanation clear. "However these are all things your own doll should have told you." His expression softened considerably as he returned his gaze to the human. "Regardless, there you have it. In order for you to have a contract with a doll you must've agreed sometime." --------------------------------------------------------------------- Kazuki got off the carousel and back onto the sidewalk once the ride was over, hopefully now they could go home so he could sleep. He was about to ask Rosalinda what she wanted to do but he couldn't see her. Oh great, where did she get off to? I could've sworn I was right behind her.... Kazuki looked everywhere around the carousel for his wayward doll, not finding her anywhere. "Rosalinda! Rosalinda! Well where'd she go?" With an irritated and exhausted sigh Kazuki did the only logical thing, start walking back home. She knows where home is. Eventually she'll notice I'm not with her and either A, go back to the carousel or B, go back home. Either way she'll wind up back home eventually. And with those thoughts permeating his head, the young man started making his way towards home. Alone, at night.
