He finds that the pods are normal orbital drop pods. Unimpessive, to say the least. However, the things in the pods are the more impressive thing. The robot (Legion) has a rather large sniper rifle. The large one (Wrex), in the red armor has a rather impressive shotgun. The one covered in tattoos seems unarmed (Jack). The purple one (Tali) has a shotgun as well, although smaller than wrex's. The blue one has a small handgun (Aria). The human has a shotgun as well. The rest have different weapons too, but I am to lazy to write more. The purple one speaks, her voice the one from the message. 
"I am Tali'Zorah nar Rayya of the Qurrian race...." She says, to everyone. The large one grunts, and mutters something about primitive creatures. "What are we doing on this shit stain of a planet? We should be trying to find a planet with people who know what the fuck to do." The blue one says. "Shut it you whiny bitch. You always complain about the smallest fucking thing." The tattoo one retorted.
