There will be superpowers, but they have to be completely reasonable, have drawbacks, and must be explained thoroughly (How the power works, why it works, that stuff). Also no shadow powers, shadow powers are dumb.

I'm thinking light-hearted at the beginning in the training facility and then the story will take a dark turn when our characters encounter crime for the first time.
