Evelyn smiled. "Trust me, they will!" She stood too, and looked back to the Sisters. She whispered softly to Rascal. "Promise you won't tell [i]anyone[/i] I spoke? I haven't uttered a word in 6 years. I'd rather it kept that way." She wandered off, heading toward the Sisters. As she got closer, she saw the key glinting in Sister Mary Lawrence's hand. The strictest of the sisters was carefully watching the other orphans. Taking a risk, she slowly raised her shaky hand and grabbed for the key. In a blurred movement, the sister turned and caught Evelyn's wrist, grasping it tightly. "Owww!" Evelyn shrieked loudly in pain. She struggled, but Sister Mary Lawrence dug her nails into her wrist, drawing thick blood. Evelyn winced, holding in tears.
