The family of the kid that I knew who died kept his name from the media, so I imagine they'll probably only have a small family thing for him. The school will definitely have a memorial, though; we had a girl die from the same sort of thing in Grade 9 or 10, and there was a big event in the gym, a giant "In memory of X" put up over top of the standings board and a charity founded in her name. They set a big precedent with her death, so now there's that same sort of expectation for these two.
