The skill section should (I hope) explain that pretty well, but if you make your character primarily a mage with specialized schools of magic, it's possible to have one or more schools of expert level. But that should work just fine! 

Be warned, I do go through sheets with a fine comb and pick out anything that sticks out. It's not because I'm anal about details (okay, maybe a little) it's mainly to encourage consistency with the world, your character, and making sure they're a good fit for the setting. Chances are, you'll have to do a revision or two, but it's a good thing! Ask the people who've been here a while, a bit of effort early on goes a long way and we have a lovely cast of lovable misfits with some great character development. :D
