Aoi, as expected, was cooped up inside her apartment, reading the latest book by one of her favorite authors with a small bag of gummy snacks sitting beside her. Aoi was unlike most females of her age: she preferred to stay inside and read books all day instead of hanging out at overcrowded beaches; and, most of all, she disliked bikinis with a passion. Still, she somehow managed to befriend someone who loved all the things that she disliked, but they got along quite well. Pushing that thought away, the girl picked up another gummy snack and was about to bite into it until she heard her phone ring. After a quick glance at the screen, she signed. It was De'von calling, probably trying to convince her to join him at the beach, even though she'd explained to him several times that she hated crowds, which was a fact that he already knew. If he couldn't convince her to leave her apartment, then nobody could. Still, Aoi felt bad for not at least trying to overcome her hatred of crowds for him, so she let her phone go to voicemail before sending him a text: Sorry, was busy reading my new book...I'll be there soon.. It was poor excuse, one that he probably wouldn't believe but that didn't stop her from sending it anyway. After pressing send, Aoi popped the gummy into her mouth then put the rest of it in her shoulder bag before heading out of her apartment, not bothering to change her clothes. She wasn't going to a fashion show, after all. The walk to the beach was fairly uneventful for Aoi, especially since the sidewalk was mostly clear of people who were probably all crowding the beach. That seemed to be the case as she turned the corner and saw more people flocking towards the salty ocean waters and its sandy counterpart. Sighing a bit, Aoi watched as people guzzled down drinks and shook and ground their half naked bodies to music beneath the unforgiven sun; she found herself wondering how De'von could stand being here but eventually shrugged it off. That's simply how her friend was. After looking around or a bit, Aoi eventually found an unoccupied table near the back of the beach and sat down under the umbrella, grateful for the shade it provided. She then took out her sketch book, pencil, and headphones and began sketching away while listening to some alternative music. With her headphones in and her attention on her sketchbook, it would be hard for an average person to notice the presence of another, but Aoi wasn't exactly your average human being...
