Rebecca looked over sharply as Adrian called her, her shoulder almost knocking a glass vase off the shelf. She quickly caught and hurried out the door before she almost broke anything else. She looked at him curiously as he said he hoped he had loose change, the statement lost on her. She had no idea why she’d need it. Shrugging slightly she followed him closely as they made their way through the city, into the seedier streets of the town. Gradually the buildings became less maintained and the people shadier, she didn’t really like not knowing what to do. Most of the situations they’d put her in during training were easy, she’d acted on instinct. Maybe that had been the problem. She hoped not. Because if she was unreliable during higher missions she and Adrian would never get off missions like this. And he didn’t seem to be happy about the current situation. He used to be a fairly highly ranked agent, she’d heard someone say. But he’s been on desk duty recently. She could only speculate why that was. And if she asked he’d probably not tell her anyway.
