[b]Optional Randomness[/b] In Homeric warfare, there is a greater emphasis on individual combat (in the [i]Iliad[/i], everyone else who are not the important named characters seem insignificant). Therefore, you can simulate a more even battle between one of your own characters and an npc using the combat rules. Basically, all important named characters (I am thinking of placing a limit at 3 of these characters and all other named characters use the generic stats) have stats and modifiers, such as a melee and missile modifier and a defense stat. This is optional because I hope people can write about situations where their characters are challenged. However, these rules can be used to add additional "Randomness" to the results.
