Great magic has failed to stop the worlds most aggressive and ruthless ruler, and now a caravan of all manners of survivors are travelling towards the southern, walled in kingdom of Aela for salvation. Each of us left a burning cottage or a dead family member behind. The gods we worshiped did not respond, we fear they are dead, Destroyed by the dark Planars that Zail and his ilk worship.
