“See anything?” Sidonis's voice asked over the communicator. “Not seeing any movement...” The turian responded. “Going to go in for a closer look. I'll call you if things get messy.” “Got it.” Sidonis said. “Over and out.” Garrus put away a scanner and got up from his hidden position. He pulled out his M-92 Mantis sniper rifle and carefully approached an old crumbling warehouse. It's been only a month since Garrus came to Omega Station and the crime rate has plummeted. The gangsters, drug lords, slavers, and other criminal types that run free on Omega have had an epidemic of 'shot in the face' happen since Garrus and his team started getting tough on crime. He's had countless people tell him he was some sort of 'archangel' for helping the ones who can't help themselves. Some much so, Garrus is beginning to like the nickname. The turian climbed up a rusty ladder that lead to the roof of the warehouse. It was a decent sized building which made him consider this all a trap. A week ago, Garrus and his team got a tip that this building was the base of operations for an Asari slave trafficking ring, which prepped kidnapped Asari before being smuggled off to various worlds. But the more Garrus saw the more he knew something was up. He jumped down through an open hatch, landing on his feet with a crash. His armor allowed for safe drops from quite a distance. The warehouse was dark, he quickly switched on his weapon's light revealing many large metal crates. This place seemed deserted. Garrus gave a heavy sigh thinking his time has just been wasted. “YOU DIE NOW!” Came the shrill cry of a vorcha. Floodlights practically blinded Garrus as he instinctively dropped and narrowly missed getting filled with holes. Gunfire seemed to come from every direction. The only thing saving him was the many crates still sitting throughout the warehouse. Strange, Garrus thought, There always seems to be conveniently laid cover every time I get into a firefight... The gunfire was so intense he couldn't lift his head to even see where it was all coming from. Then as sudden as it happened it all stopped. The echo of the shots still rang loudly off the walls. “Come on out Archangel!” Called the deep gruff voice of a bloodpack krogan. “If you just stand up, it'll be over quickly!” Garrus could hear footsteps closing in on all sides of him. His sniper rife was laying just to the side of the crate he was hiding behind. Just raising his hand to reach for the gun caused more gunfire to rain down on his position. Sorry Shepard, he thought, Guess this is it for me.
