Appearance: Kento has green eyes, fair complexion and no distinguishing features to speak of. The only real tell that he is a ninja comes from his lean build and the slightly callous hands. Other than that with his shoulder length ponytail and otherwise bland features Kento is the kind of person you could run into on the street and then forget about two minutes later. He is not exceptionally beautiful nor ugly, has no memorable scars nor tattoos nor any piercings. In a word Kento is ‘average’ in the sense that you could place him practically anywhere in the world and he would be able to blend in nigh seamlessly.

Personality and interests: One very important thing to keep in mind is that Kento can change personality seemingly at the drop of a hat. However, only his true personality is described here.
A self proclaimed 'reclamation artist’ Kazuya is an incorrigible thief and thrill seeker. The better something is locked away and the closer something is guarded, the more attractive it becomes to him. He lives for the thrill of the heist, from simple pick-pocketing to breaking into the mightiest fortresses. 
However he did not survive as long as he had simply by going after every single shiny that he sees and then hoarding them like a hamster. Kento picks his targets with care. The will of fire burns within him, he will always place his comrades lives over success. Something as irreplaceable as a poor family’s monthly wages or a maiden’s virginity is off limits (that said stealing a maiden’s first kiss is fair game). Those that he does target have done something to earn a karmic retribution, can take the loss or are those who he is ordered target.
Gifted with a golden tongue and powerful observation skills Kento avoids fights where possible. In his own words, ‘should a man challenge me to a duel I will take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand, lead him to a quiet place, then slice his throat when his guard is down’. He is a poor direct combatant and he knows it.

Clothing: Varies from day to day. Most of his clothes are designed to hide the more obvious signs of his ninja profession, however other than that the only thing that could be said to be consistent about his dress is that it is anything but consistent. One day he’ll show up in slightly tacky merchants garb, the next week he dresses purely as a Wind country noble only to suddenly show up in beggar’s rags. Predictability is his enemy.

History: Born to a down on their luck merchant family Kazuya began his thieving career out of necessity. He soon discovered that not only was he good at it, he enjoyed it too. The more challenging the heist the better. Then he had the misfortune of trying to pickpocket a Jonin, with predictable results. However while his pick-pocketing attempt failed he promptly managed to talk his way out of an arrest and into the good graces of the ninja involved. Impressed by his talents at misdirection and bullshitting the jonin recommended he enroll into the academy, for they could always use an extra sneaky bastard on the force. Despite the protests from his civilian family he followed up on the advice and managed to graduate successfully. In most respects an unremarkable graduate Kazuya scored extremely well on illusions as well stealth.
Teamed up with a Hyuuga and an Uchiha forced him to step up his game as the two doujutsu canceled his greatest advantage in fights, namely his illusion mastery. Throughout the years they worked as a team he became so adept at lying and disguises that even byakugan users have difficulty telling if Kento is truthful or not. His self control extends to all of his facial muscles so he is able to shape them into standard ‘tells’ used for lie/truth detection at will. Their hard work paid off as it culminated in several of the greatest successful stealth missions ever done by a genin team in the history of the village. A record that Kento is proud of, one that still stands to this very day.
His illusion mastery leapt up another level when his team decided to go for chunin. He started to mix the subtler arts into standard taijutsu, for example appearing to perform a high uppercut when in reality he went for a low kick, appearing a metre to the left of his actual position, or messing with an opponent’s sense of balance. Elegance in simplicity.
When the Uchiha massacre happened he was hit hard by the loss of his teammate, and on occasion he (stealthily) visits the clan compound to pay his respects to his former comrade.
While widely acknowledged to be one of the best ‘retrieval’ specialists in the village he is not physically capable enough to complete the jonin selection and is likely to remain chunin rank for the rest of his life.

Reaction to what's happening: This is a chance to enter the history books. To enter the annals of history alongside legends like the Sannin. To become thieving LEGEND. To break into the heavens and steal treasures from the Gods themselves! 

Relations to Nyota: Harmless maiden, will not steal (much) from her.

Any Relationships: He still is good friends with his old genin teammate Hyuuga Kaori, the only one left from his genin team. His jonin sensei died on a solo mission while Itachi happened to his Uchiha teammate.
He taught the intermediate levels of genjutsu to Yuuhi Kurenai before she grew into Konoha’s genjutsu mistress. Kento still drops by every now and then for a social call.
With most other leaf nin he is on a semi-friendly basis though his habit of swiping small stuff off them as a practical joke grates on some of the more uptight ones. Even if he returns everything he takes within a week or when asked (whatever happens earlier) and he never takes mission critical items or important mementos. Ordinary kunai, potted plants or leaf headbands yes, the last photo of a loved one or a family sword no.

Extra: His life goal is becoming the GOD OF THIEVES! Either in the literal sense or the physical sense. Preferably literal for he has no intention of living forever..
