Mostly judged and found okay. --- Name: Alam Souta Age: 19 Gender: Male Race: Human Appearance: Not Kassim
Height: 173cm, 5’8 Weight: 155lb, 70kg Hair color: Black Eye color: Gold Skin tone: Slightly tanned. Misc: He wears what you might expect of your average university student and young adult. Jeans, trousers, t-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, etc. Nothing too fancy, just casual. So the princess decides the outfit apparently.
Personality: Good-natured, somewhat easy-going, but practical at the same time. Alam would love to do what he enjoys all the time, but like most people realizes he can’t, and like even less, doesn’t get caught up in indulgence. He takes things seriously, but it’s a practiced response, and far from his true nature which is more inclined to be lazy and laid back. Even when he is serious, it’s rare that Alam’s mood will be somber or grave, there’s usually that upbeat air to him. All in all, he’s someone who likes to see the fun side of things, even in questionable situations. For all that positiveness though, he does have some issues with crowds. While not really an introvert, he doesn’t do well amongst too many people. To clarify, something like a popular public space, ie, a mall or an amusement park won't be an issue. Put him on a class team for the sports festival, and that's when Alam gets antsy.
Likes: Heavy-physical sports (fighting included), video games, action-oriented novels, spicy foods, some mammals, and instrumental music. Dislikes: Too much attention, serious fights, reptiles (sue him), overly sweet foods, and sleeping too much (makes him feel lethargic until he can reset the sleep cycle).
Background: Is it uncommon to find someone of Middle Eastern descent who’s been raised in Japan since an early age? Even in this day and age, probably, so there’s obvious a bit of a story to Alam’s unusual childhood. … Is there? Well, not really. There’s the fact that his mother is Japanese, while his father Lebanense. The family lived in a small rural town, both parents working jobs, while Alam went to the only school. There wasn’t any tragic case of xenophobia where Alam was isolated for his heritage, although he was a favored target because of his differences. Nevertheless, the bullies quickly moved onto other targets when it became quite clear that Alam was anything but a pacifist. Well, except for one particularly stubborn bastard who eventually became a friend. They fought when it was Alam surrounded by half a dozen other kids, they fought when it was only the two of them, and they fought while other kids cheered them on; though Alam didn’t like the popularity their scraps gained. It wasn’t the strongest friendship, but the tenuous bond was there. While there was quite a fuss at first, eventually the adults learned to just turn a blind eye. It wasn’t like either of them got seriously hurt and in their eyes it was just a, if particularly violent, way to blow off steam. Eventually, his parents moved for their jobs and Alam followed; he said his goodbyes, threw a few last punches, and left the small town behind for the bigger city. He might have left his “partner” behind, but there were plenty of fights for him in his new home. Just not exactly the type he looked forward to. See, the people in the city weren’t so much as looking to have a nice brawl, most strangers weren’t, they just wanted to get things with violence. Naturally, Alam disagreed with such things and had to take precautions. A “foreigner” was a prime target and if carrying things like brass knuckles, despite their illegality, or just flat out running away was needed, well then that’s what Alam did. It would be a lie to say he didn’t miss the days where he could slug it out, but when there were a few people who wanted to hurt and not just fight, he didn’t stick around. School was never too much a problem for Alam. Even if he wasn’t anywhere close to the top of the class he managed to hold his own, staying around or just below the average at times. While never academically minded, he did enjoy various aspects of learning and took advantage of spending hours in the library or participating in the occasional sports events. Special Moves
Name: Brand - Unstable Sigil Type: Level 1 - Bright Power Open (Melee Explosive) Desc: By waving his hand over whatever weapon he’s using at the moment, his crest appears upon the weapon and the ability is activated. Any blow that connects, be it with an opponent; on their armor, weapon, or body; a fortification, such as a wall; or even the environment, causes a miniature crest to appear at the hit location. A subsequent hit against the crest will result in a massive release of kinetic energy, blasting the target away. The crests have a limited duration though, and only three can remain active at a time - any additional crests will cause earlier ones to fade away. Name: Assault - Accelerate Charge Type: Level 1 - Misc. Emblem Art (Short Range Charge) Desc: An ability that forms Alam's crest onto the back of both hands. The gathered bright power is then used to create a skin-tight barrier around him which also has the side effect of distorting light, causing his appearance to blur and become hazy. The fact that the ground shatters and cracks under his feet hint at just how fast he's propelled forwards. Combined with the barrier, he's capable of smashing most things aside, and widely diffused Emblem Arts are no exception. The distance traveled is short, and it’s offensive power is mediocre, but it’s speed can outshine even Bright Power Gears. On the other hand maneuverability is hindered, although the skill is not limited to linear movements. A burst of power can adjust his path, but at the cost of defensive capability while too many will cause the skill to fail prematurely. Name: Devastate - Field of Blades Type: Short Ranged Area of Effect Desc: The technique is set up by embedding a knife imbued with his magic in the ground. Activation involves driving the knife downwards another time while a surge of magic acts as the trigger. Typically done so by jumping off the hilt, although a solid punch also works at times. Blades of varying sizes , from daggers (10cm) to short swords (50cm), and made from non-elemental energy erupt in a 10 meter diameter around the knife, although there is a 1 meter buffer zone. The blades withdraw into the earth when the knife is pulled free.
