Avery felt something against her back and she was pushed back to shore, washing up onto the shore as her freinds came running to make sure she was alright. She sat up coughing up water, looking around wildly. "Where did...something..." Her friends hugged her, thankful she was alright. But she looked at the water. She knew it wasn't a wave that saved her. Something out there did. Maggie was sitting at her desk, dark shadows under her eyes as she moved paper out of the way on the wood to look at a map again. It was late, again. She hadn't slept in days, the case her and her partner working keeping her from going home. She rubbed her eyes, reaching for the coffee mug that was out of reach of her blind hand.
