Yes it was a pretty violent attack, but he was just hoping to cripple the bear enough to knock him down for good. He immediately lowered the crossbow, using his foot to hold the bow as he fumbled to put another bolt in place and cock the string. "That was such a cheap shot!" The bear snarled. "I'm not like those frail adventurers, an arrow to the knee, it ain't gonna stop me." A bead of sweat rolled down his cheek as he hurried to get the weapon ready, realizing what a bad idea this had been. Of course the bear was going to come for him - he shot first! And the bear had given up the slow walk, barreling towards him at all fours and knocking him down just has he had weapon ready. "Fight me like a real man, up close and personal. A pretty face like yours deserves to be cut up, yes? The beast was leaning over him muzzle in his face and snarling. Dylan knew that he couldn’t over power the creature, and that he couldn’t slip out. There was only one choice. “You gonna threaten me or actually do something?” He taunted, hoping his words would distract the bear as he reached for his weapon on the ground not far from him. The crossbow had landed just out of reach, and try as he might it was just inches past his fingertips. Then, Xan came to his rescue, slamming the bear with her hammer-arm and sending him flying away. Xan pulled him up, and Dylan flashed her a quick smile. “Great work!” he cheered before dodging to the side. Rolling, Dylan seized the bow and came up on his knees, cradling the weapon in his arms and taking aim as the bear, dazed and wounded, turned back to face them. With another deep breath, he squeezed the trigger and sent the bolt flying into the bear’s other knee. “Try charging me now!” he boasted. “Xan, finish it!”
