You're the character who makes it to the end of the show, or almost there. Consistently popular cast member, your storyline started off only semi-serious or you were like a one-dimensional dick, only to get a deeper plot arc later on while still retaining your gruffness.

Once the show is past its prime and the writing starts to suffer you're either one of its last redeeming qualities, or written so horribly that it tarnishes a little bit of your popularity --but not enough to ruin it permanently once the show ends.
