It does indeed. 

From a chronological stand point it matters. My brothers birth certificate says my parents have had one living off spring before him. So, it does matter. 

There have been multiple births that have had one child born on like the 23rd and the other born on the 24th, because one was born at 11.50 pm, and the other 12.05 am. So it matters.
