There really isn't much for an exploration officer to do when you aren't actively exploring anything. You can prepare yourself and your equipment, of course, but when you've done that, what then? If this line of work demands anything of you, it's that you have a hobby. A time-consuming, limitless hobby. With that you will endure all the downtime between missions and mission reports. If you don't, however, you're in for a real treat. Colleen, as it happens, doesn't have such a hobby. She's kept herself busy with learning and studying new things on the ship for the past months, but boredom is slowly sneaking up on her. When the captain notifies the crew of the distress call, Colleen feels like dancing. "Finally!" she cheers in the solace of her small room, making a security officer passing by outside raise an eyebrow. Colleen sits herself down for the directional alteration and spends the coming 60 minutes thinking through possible scenarios they could be facing.
