There's been no significant evidence to support that increased wealth leads to decreased empathy, and, in fact, there have been several case studies of people with a large amount of wealth being [i]more[/i] empathetic, such as the tendency of celebrities to help those in need through charities. The issue lies in corporations, and those are generally run by psychopaths. I would recommend [i]The Psychopath Test[/i] by Jon Ronson for more info on the matter, it's a great read.
