Moments after Carter had fallen asleep on her, Rosina had dozed off herself, not waking up until both her Azurill and Cottonee jumped on her squealing happily. "Whaaa!? Oh...you two. Did you sleep well?" she asked. They both smiled and both nuzzled her. Upon standing, both in her arms, she stretched out her legs and saw that Carter had come out of the center looking... off. Rosina said hi but he just waved and asked if she could not come watch him battle Brock. Respecting his wishes, she headed to the pokemart to see what new items she could buy. Still having 5 antidotes and 7 potions, she bought 5 each of Paralyze heals, Ice heals, burn heals, awakenings, and 8 more potions to get 15. Having used up most of her money, she went back outside, remembering what she thought about before. 

"Oh! Cottonee, i came up with a good nickname for you. What do you think about the name Drift? Kinda like how you float in the wind." she said.

"Cott tonee!" he said looking happy. Rosina was delighted! "Okay from now on, your Drift and Azurill is Azul. This nickname thing is fun huh?"

Rosina had decided to wait for the others on route three, maybe playing with them in the grass, doing a few warm up battles. She started heading that way when she noticed Carter running back to the Pokemon Center. "Oh! Wonder how he did." she said walking that way. She went inside and saw that he was no where in sight. Walking to his room, she knocked on the door and opened it a crack, peeking in.

"Carter....?" she noticed he looked sad and barged into his room. "Whats wrong Carter?" she asked, Cottonee and Azurill were wondering as well.

"Cott tonee?"

"Rill, rill?"

She sat next to him and petted Teddiursa as Cottonee and Azurill hopped on them, hoping to cheer them up. Rosina figured he probably lost. "You know, you cant win every battle." she said softly.
