Realizing that Lion seemed to have a general idea of where to go, Kathy followed him. It was strange. When she saw him in the cafeteria she was undoubtedly nervous about being around such a large and (potentially) dangerous animal, but now she was rather enjoying his presence. She could now understand why the girl they dropped off at the infirmary had seemed to enjoy hugging and burying her face into his mane.

Through the halls and out the door, they went out into the garden. Perhaps due to the nice weather, several groups of people seemed to be out there. [i]‘Hmm… I’ll look around first, but at least we’ll have no shortage of witnesses if I want to ask around.’[/i] Kathy thought, [i]‘I’m sure at least one or two people would have seen her if she passed through here.’[/i]

Luckily, they didn’t need to go very far. Going to the pond, she saw Little Feather speaking to another girl with abnormally pale skin and long black pigtails. “Little Feather, hey.” Walking up to them, she smiled at the pair and waved. “We were surprised when you suddenly disappeared from the library. Did something happen?”

The more they talked, Leroy ended up getting more questions than answers. However, instead of becoming frustrated with the situation he found it incredibly amusing. He hadn’t expected too much from the academy, but now he was certain he would enjoy himself a lot more among all these other ‘gifted’ individuals than living out an ordinary life trying to blend in at a regular school.

He had a lot more questions he wanted to ask now, like about the fight and what Dani actually meant by going into some guy’s head. But more than inquiries about the past, there a more interesting event unfolding in front of his very eyes that he needed to ask about. “Hey, not sure if you noticed but…” Clearing his throat, he told Dani, “You seem to be fading out on us. Is that normal?”
