It's an intelligence born of magical energies living inside a weapon that is magically controlling a lump of 'stone like flesh', it can heal any injury to the 'stone like flesh' but it can't heal injuries to 'itself the weapon'.

If it heals a lot though it will need to consume lots of energy which could be dangerous, also if it takes a lot of damage then it could run out of energy and 'go to sleep'
