" I swear, Peter Benjamin Parker, you are more and more like your Uncle every living second! Running out to save your students! What did you expect to do?" "Aunt May--" "Don't you interrupt me! Did you not think that this man was a threat! Did you want to risk your life while you knew you should have stayed with your friend?" She exploded at him, sitting on the couch, his face still destroyed. Peter made the excuse of going to try and help the school... that excuse didn't get him off the hook. "Do you know how i would have felt if i- If i lost you?!" She yelled him him, tears and exhaustion in her face. She was clearly afraid the whole night of losing the one person she had left in her life... In a way, Peter did the same thing... He didn't say anything. He sat up and hugged her tight. She sobbed in his arms. He stared at the wall, sorry for making Aunt May bawl, and wondering if Lexi would ever speak to him again... ---- Peter woke up the next morning to the radio, newspaper, and television talking about "Spider-Man Vs. The Green Goblin!" Peter laid down on the couch, wearing jeans, a white long shirt with a blue t-shirt over it. His face looked much better... although he still had a horrible cut, but his eye was barely noticable now. He didn't hear Aunt May the whole morning... He assumed he would find a note saying how she went to the store to get some groceries... The letter from Lexi caught his attention. He read and heard it, grateful she didn't give away anything. Both Peter's or the Goblin's identity... The night started out perfect... he finally kissed the woman of his dreams... and then he blew it... There was a knock at the door. He slowly sat up, and made his way to it, and was very surprised to see Lexi Rogers standing there, absolutely stunning as usual. He didn't know she was ready to leave the hospital so early. He gave a very small smile, avoiding eye contact. "hey.... I... saw your... " He pointed in the direction of the television, then he couldn't take it anymore. "Are you alright? I'm sorry for running off like that, I just..." He was at a loss of words. The smartest in his class and he couldn't explain to his best friend (and now love of his life) what he was feeling at the moment. Regret for not telling her. Grief that she got hurt. Anger that the Goblin threatened everything he loved... happiness that Lexi was safe... in love at the sight of her... She knew she was here for the questions... and he was ready to tell her the things he should have told her over a year ago.
