To say that Lexi could understand the inner turmoil that Peter was going through but she couldn’t. A small nod rose and fell her head in a nod when he talked about the research of Doctor Curt Connors and the internship that he had taken. When he started to talk about how it changed him, she nodded softly, she was very surprised the day she came over to the house to see that Peter had ditched his glasses and could see fine. His strength even seemed to increase like when they were cleaning out the study, some of the boxes and dressers that he was able to lift were a lot heavier than he would normally have difficulty with. When he finished talking she reached over and took his large hands in her small ones as she closed the gap between the two of them. “Peter, please listen. You’ve been through a lot, but you’ve come out such an amazing individual and I know that Uncle Ben would be and is so proud of you.” She pulled her right hand from his and placed it on his cheek turning his head; forcing him to look at her. She leaned forward gently, placing her forehead against his, a gentle smile moved across her full lips. The gentle scent of her vanilla perfume filling the small space between them, a smile spread across her face, showing her straight white teeth. “You’ve helped so many people, saved so many people and protected so many lives; myself included. And I, just like Uncle Ben and I’m sure Aunt May would be, am so proud of you. And so proud of Spider-Man. Your secret’s safe with me, my hero.” She said softly with an honest and sweet smile.
