Whispering and stares around the two seemed to intensify, it didn’t help that they were standing right next to the only water source at the Expeditions Trials Yard. A man walked up and looked the two over, eyes more on the ragged looking giant of a teen than on Rashim. The boy’s evergreen gaze stared him down and the man hurriedly drank his fill, then left. With the man gone, the blonde returned his attention to the boy who had been speaking before the other had shown up. How was he supposed to resolve this situation? Sure, he remembered… some things, but that didn’t mean he WANTED to remember them, nor did it mean that he NEEDED to remember them. Father’s word was law at their house, and if he said that your past was useless, then it was useless. A thing to be discarded whenever commanded, just like one’s own emotions, pointless, and in the way. His gaze flickered back to the milling crowd, some who continued on, and those who were standing and watching. With a sigh his gaze turned back UPWARDS to the honey eyed youth. “You’re words are… familiar, but that does not mean that I should remember you.” Everyone knew that the Lystraan family children were adopted, or anyone with half a brain to listen to anything said in this town. With eyes locked, he calculated his next phrase as best he could. Let the other down easy so as not to cause a scene… more of a scene. The other already appeared to have a glisten to his honeyed eyes. He swallowed hard and spoke, “my past and those involved with it are unimportant, only the future is of interest to me.” He paused once again and glanced past the overtly tall person to the doorway into the next training area. “And at this point in time, my future entails joining the expedition to find Rin.” the blonde finished and pointed towards the door.
