[img=http://th03.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/f/2011/184/a/0/moon_base_by_pangeawizard-d3kwt0g.jpg] Background: The year is 2099. Overpopulation and pollution has run rampant, staining the once green earth. Mankind looks to the stars for salvation. Space travel becomes commonplace, and is largely controlled by mega-corporations. New Gaia is the largest off planet city, located on the moon it has a population of 1 million. Several smaller space stations orbit the earth, each with their own population. But man made platforms are costly and limited in size and sustainability, which is why everyone is racing to find the closest habitable planet. To reach such a goal, Yamato Enterprises has created the largest space vessel to date, a behemoth of a ship roughly the size of Neo-Tokyo creatively called The Yamato 01. Best described as a moving city, it is capable of carrying a population of more than 500k. The ship is completely self sustaining, able to manufacture its own food and recycle its air. Its run like a small country, with a government, president, economy, police force, etc. The idea was to create a ship that could travel for extremely long periods of time, reaching out to the furthest stars. [img=http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/305/b/2/paladin_battleship_by_vattalus-d6smnk2.jpg] Plot: The Yamato 01's maiden voyage was planned to take 6 months, and quick tour through the solar system to test its mettle. At month 4, the ship left the solar system and broke off all contact with earth. It was presumed lost, a malfunction was assumed to have killed everyone on board. 7 years later it returns, locking itself in Mars's orbit. All communications attempts have failed, all you know for certain is that it's emitting a distress beacon. You have been hired by Yamato Enterprises to retrieve their lost property. Your mission: board the ship, find out what happened, and return it to earth's orbit. Notes: So basically big space ship disappears and returns several years later out of nowhere. I don't want to say more than that, because part of the fun is the mystery and discovering what happened. I do have a plot planned out, and will reveal more if it helps garner more interest. But like I said, I'd rather not spoil the mystery.
