Jean looked up at the other two that had joined him in the observation room and he smiled at them. Jean had been standing there looking at it for some time, making a mental map of the planet as it spun even though they had been provided with detailed maps made by the colonists after they had landed. "Yes, that's her," Jean said, his french accent just a small thing after years of speaking english in the military. "We'll be landing soon, we're in orbit above the main colony, there," He said as he pointed to a spot on the planet that had nothing special about it, the colony was not visible from orbit, "but according to the computer we'll have to land over there," he pointed to yet another part of the planet indistinguishable from the rest of it, "or else we'll sink in the sand. We'll be landing in just a couple of hours, after everyone has showered and eaten a hot meal, possibly the last of either for the next few months depending on what happens, and it'll take maybe a day of walking to reach the colony where we will try and make contact with the locals, if there are any left, and see what they and their computer logs can tell us. After that, if we have made contact with the locals and see what we can see we will send a message back to earth and, depending on their situation and what sort of assistance they need, we will either go and find them or head back to earth. Easy, what could go wrong, huh?"
