I apologize for my bad wording; this is kind of what I was getting at.

The pointless threads with no real content to them (such as your "the" example) don't get Spam going because they don't encourage activity from anyone else. That's why threads along those lines generally have little to no posts in them. The threads last night though, as you said, asked people to contribute, and that's what made Spam active.

So I guess "activity" isn't what's needed so much as "activity that encourages more activity". 

But seriously though, I think if we all just hang out and do stuff like old times instead of acting like the old times are gone for good, then I think that should be good enough. :sun
