Sloth the Dealer, Nov 1, 2017 - 9th Street in the Slums of No Name , approximately 9am

"and stay the fuck outta my sight, if I ever see you around here again I'll make sure you are pulled apart piece by piece you slimy piece of degenerate shit fuck!"

wide-eyed with fear the sunken face man ran off tripping over his own feet , struggling to keep his balance gasping for breath after being on the receiving end of a deafening stomp to his chest cavity that surly cracked a couple of ribs.

"junkie piece of shit tried to rob me, me?" laughing to himself, "obviously he didn't know who the fuck he was dealing with. prick's lucky I didn't stab em, cuz betty's been lonely.." he trailed off, thumbing the handle of a black blade tucked in his waistband.

when suddenly he erupted into a series of violent coughs that reverberated his entire being causing him to double over, bringing a dark cloth from his pocket he covered his masked mouth, attempting deep breaths through his nose to calm down. Finally he was able to bring his breathing to a steady rhythm, "fucking bullshit" he muttered in between now short controlled breaths. "lung bullshit"

*bzzzz* the pager adorning his waist vibrated, he looked down at the green retro screen of what was now considered ancient technology. the poorly illuminated device read "1 o clock lunch" in fading LED.

1 o clock lunch .. today we'd be going down to the docks to pay someone a much needed visit. I'll head over to the Market District and grab a newspaper while I wait. See what bullshit they've come up with today.

Sloth walked in the direction of the Market District, passing a line of drug addicts slumped together on the wall of a degrading building. Obviously burned out from the evening before.

"Ahh, I love the smell of the Slums in the morning" he said sarcastically turning his head to the left, letting out a sigh. "fucking pussies" he crumpled up a $10 euro note and threw it at the feet of the three bums."go get some food you fucking degenerates" they dropped to their knees and crawled towards the wad of cash, clawing at one another to get their hands on the paper treasure. Sloth rolled his eyes behind his mask and tilted his head back looking up at the bleak sky accented with it's perpetual red haze.

"How am I going to help fix this fucked up hell hole?"

He continued walking towards the market district. Relaxed but focused on the task at hand. Today was important.

Andria looked up at the ticking clock on the wall. Sighing, she stood up from her work in the building’s garage. Looking around, the young woman began to wipe grease and oil from her hands. Cleaning up the tools she had lying around, Drake made sure that her workplace was left in a clean and neat state. The half-built car that stood in the middle of the garage looked out at her solemnly. Drake had been working on the car for nearly several months now. Ever since she arrived at No Name.

Letting the rag in her hands fall onto an empty table, Drake walked up the stairs into the inn proper. The inn was called The Serpent’s Lair, but was more commonly known as the Den in the docks of No Name. The inn was three stories tall. On the bottom story was the pub, kitchen, and garage. The second floor was the guest rooms and the top floor was Drake’s living quarters.

Sighing, Drake walked up to the front door. Looking out, she watched as the sun peeked up over the horizon. Flipping the sign that hung in the window to ‘OPEN’ Drake turned back around. Reaching up behind her head, the woman tied her hair back into a ponytail. Walking up to the stairs she pulled on a rope. A loud thump was heard afterwards, followed by the quick pattering of feet. Paying no mind to the sounds, Drake pulled out a notebook from behind the counter. In it was design after design after design. They were all of different pieces of the car that sat in the garage.

Suddenly, a small, wiry frame came tumbling down the stairs. Tripping, the young boy face-planted the ground. Though, it couldn’t have been too hard as he bolted upright with a stupid grin on his face. “Hey, Eric! Stop fooling around and get to those dishes from last night.” Drake yelled out to the boy, patting the top of his head as he passed. His thick brown hair was a mess this morning, as it always was.

Drake had met the boy over a year ago in the slums. He had decided to pick her pocket, which was a bad decision for him. However, Drake had always had a soft spot for children and instead took the nine-year old in. When she opened up the inn a year ago, he quickly became her number one, if only, employee.

Roused from her thoughts, Drake’s attention turned towards the door as the bell rung. The cold morning breeze wafted into the building as a figure stood, silhouetted , in the doorway.

Ronan sat in his usual alley, chewing on a toothpick. He had seen those beggars go after a 10 euro after a not so happy looking man threw it at them. He would take it. To him, at this point, it didn't matter about the money. What mattered was the image. He needed people to be scared of him. To throw what he asked for at his feet, terror in their eyes. He would let them keep the money for now. He wanted them to be happy with themselves. Only so that he could take that happiness and smash it into the ground. Ronan might even come back later and rip whatever they had bought with it, probably food, out of their hands. Those two weren't aware of the danger lurking right next to them. For all they knew, he was probably a drug dealer, if anything. He was too well dressed to be much of anything else. Either that or he was a rich person screwing around in the wrong place.

Ronan decided he would let them keep the euro, for now anyway. Hell, he might even let them have it. That is, if he felt the same when he came back to visit the pair. He pushed himself off the wall and made his way to the market. His sister still lived with him, and he still felt a personal responsibility to feed her. She probably wanted soup now that the weather was getting colder. Ronan supposed he would make soup, but in order to do that, he had to go to the market and buy the ingredients.

"Such a chore," Ronan mumbled to himself as he walked away from the alley and into the bright afternoon. The sky was gray, the way he liked it. Soon it would snow. The world would be dark and dead. He preferred the winter over the summer. All of the flowers, bright colors and bright lights were almost always too much for him. And the bugs. Ronan wished all the bugs either left him alone or died off completely, but the rational part of his mind knew that the latter would be impossible without huge environmental impacts. Not that he cared much for the environment, of course.

Solomon rolls off his cot and onto the concrete floor. No, not on purpose. Sometimes you wake up the hard way. Groaning he drags a cigar out of his shirt pocket and strikes a match on his 5 o'clock shadow. That's better. Slowly dragging to his feet Sol is ready for the day. Same clothes as yesterday, Heh, they dont smell half bad. Eat a quick tab of acid, holster the cannon. Better go find some missing people today. Running low on medicine. Sol is color blind, but the hallucinogens make him see. Color? Maybe. How can he be sure since he doesn't know what color is. All he knows is the world is black and white. Except when the drugs work right. Then everything is art in motion.

Stepping out onto the street he heads for the boards. You know the ones, where people advertise for their bullshit. Sometimes he can find work there for people looking for someone who's probably already dead. Oh well, if they want to pay him to confirm dead relatives then no problem. The street isn't level, and the sky is swirling angry (Is that orange? Why not. It's orange.) here comes the fun.

Each step sounds like an earthquake shaking the ground. Partly because of his raw mass partly the drugs. Man feels like a badass giant when he hears that sound. Smashing the ground as he wanders up to the board Sol glances at the fresh listings and heads off towards Ellies house. Sol doesn't do protection but maybe her dumbass parents will throw him some cash for the warning. It's a short walk since he lives in the slums nearby.

Coming to the listed address Solomon straightens his back and and pounds on the door by way of knocking. The hovel sways dangerously at the force being applied generously. The door cracks open revealing a nervous little weasel faced man with a knife. Sol breathes out a cloud of cigar smoke into his face before talking, "Someone already let you know what's comin. Good enough. You'd do best to find a new shitshack to live in for a while. Some of these fucks like to take kids instead of killin'em. If that happens look me up. I'll track the little wailing bastard down for you." Almost on cue the child starts crying again. Sol just shakes his head as he walks away. Need to go see the concrete doctor. But maybe just a quick nip first.

Stomping his way down the road Sol gets to the docks and spots his disreputable spot. The Serpent's Lair, they know and tolerate him there. And anyone who doesn't know him learns. The hard way. Reaching up as he passes through the door giving the bell an extra clang just for good measure.

Nov 1, 2017 - In a warehouse on the Docks - 12pm

umph! the man fell into a heap on the floor after taking a hard blow from one of the goons standing around him, pushing up on to all fours he said, "Fellas, come on now, I would never try anything funny with you guys I swear"

Sloth bent down into a squat putting his masked face directly in front of the man stroking his own chin, "Jimmyyy, my boyy, of course you wouldn't, you would never cross the Sujos" opening both hands like a balance, weighing each phrase " you'd have to be either a genius thinking you could outsmart us or a fucking moron. Oh wait" gesturing a light bulb going off, "I think I know which one you are." looking towards his right hand

One of the Sujo standing near him delivered a vicious kick to the abdomen to the man on all fours, bringing him off the ground clenching his stomach and coughing up blood. Bringing himself up to a half sitting position he began pleading,
"Fellas *coughing and rasping for air* I swear , *stammering* I-I-I - "

"Fuck you Jimmy!" Sloth exclaimed cutting him off, "You tried to fuck us and you got caught, plain and simple." standing up he began pacing around the room methodically, increasing the tension of the hopeless man. "You think you get to see these faces and live to tell the tale? That's not how it works Jimmy and you know it. You promised us clean Js counterfeits but I couldn't even pass these amateur shits off to a child." Changing his tone a honeyed menace. "What happened Jimmy? Huh? You want me to understand? You promise you'll never tell anyone what you saw? You'll do better next time? Yeah is that it?"

Now sobbing uncontrollably, "Sloth, come on man, you gotta understand, I didn't know they would be bad 'feits, I trust-

"Shut up Jimmy." Sloth's tone was cold and even. "If you have any last words now's the time." He walked over to the mess of a man and brought him to his knees, tying a blindfold over his eyes and putting a cigarette in his mouth.
"Im sorry man" Jimmy said a single trail of tears streaming from beneath the cloth covering his eyes.

"yea, me too" Lighting the cancerous stick Sloth left the room, leaving the dirty deed to his Native brothers and to avoid that god awful secondhand smoke.

He headed over to the Serpent's Lair, to see what was up

Ronan had bought his groceries and had them in hand as he pulled out a small, dirty paper. It was his daily chore list. He had already mentally marked off, buy supplies. Next up, the message board. He made his way to it, just the idea of the board was pulling Ronan closer. His sister thought it magic, if nothing else. But what the Hell was magic anyway? Ronan thought it was just fucked up science. He followed his mother's beliefs when it came to that sort of thing. She knew what she was doing wasn't any sort of magic. It was man-made bullshit. His sister though, the one who really had the gift, believed in it heart and soul, head to toe. Sometimes Ronan envied her blind faith, but then he always ended up remembering that faith gets you nowhere but hurt or dead. So he believed in what he knew. He knew the board had what his sister called magic, and he knew that he was in the right business to always find it. What he didn't know, was how it worked.

Ronan checked his grocery bag, counting all the things he needed for beef stew. He hoped it would be enough, he didn't want to go to the store twice today. When he looked up from the bag, the board was there, confusing letters and all. He put his list back and pulled out another paper, one for the code. Ronan nodded at it before memorizing the request. Benril Mangus was the unlucky man of the week.

Ronan headed home to give his sister the stew ingredients. When he got there, he put the meat in a pot and splayed everything out for when he came back. He thought it would be good, if anything, it was always good to his sister. He checked on her, and she was doing what she always did, practice. She was practicing for when she felt ready enough to go out and follow in their mother's footsteps. Although, unlike their mother, she wanted to be honest. She wanted to share the magic, and better people and their lives through it. Ronan had always thought it silly and strange, but he would never tell her that. Better she realize it on her own than give up on any happiness she might find on the way.

He left the house, heading towards the contract. He would wait at the Serpent's Lair until nightfall, maybe ask around to see what kind of trouble he was really getting into. According to the contract, it would be easy, but if there was one thing he learned from the trade, don't underestimate anyone. That little starving beggar could always have a knife and the ability to use it.

Nov 1, 2017 - Serpent's Lair - 12:30pm

The pub went ominously quiet for a second as Benril Mangus stepped in; but the muscle head did not realize the change in atmosphere. He sat down bluntly at a table as he looked around for the barmaid, "Andria! Dam girl where are you?!" The pub was busy as usual this hour, with customers having lunch or a short beer break; but the barmaid was nowhere to be found.

Just then, a woman carrying a tray of drinks attended him, but instead of Andria it was Mrs Mabel who approached. "The usual?", she suggested as she delivered a mug of homemade mead onto his table.

Benril nodded inattentively, as his eyes still searched for the missing girl. "Where's Andria?"

"I'm sorry, Andria went off for a bit..." she replied gently, but her eyes wandered off as they met his.
"Anything else you might still need, my dear?"

"The Devil's Taste," he replied tersely, immediately dismissing the confused lady as she tried to process what he just requested for.

Mrs Mabel thought something was amiss, but she said nothing more and left the drug dealer alone. In fact, he looked anxious. Something must had been bothering him. The buffed man struggled to reach into his back pocket and took out a scrambled note. He contemplated whatever was written on it, and seemed terrified as his eyes read the note through and through again. When Mrs Mabel came back with the odd dish, he was so transfixed at the message that he involuntarily let out a tiny roar, "don't you come up to me and scare me like that ever again!" he snapped, dismissing the poor innkeeper once again.

He looked at the Devil's Taste. The pink rough skin and the white thorns looked horrible and extremely disgusting. He knew the origin of the Devil's Taste - some of his clients were fishermen; but almost without a moment of hesitation, Benril Mangus dug in and finished the revolting dish.

"Hahahahahahaha~!" The man then laughed maniacally, attracting the whole pub's attention as he stood up and declared,
"This is so disgusting! This is shit!! Hahahahahaha~ But I shall live for another day!!"

The Serpent’s Lair 12:35

Andria walked up to the inn’s back door when it flung open. Eric, his mop of brown hair flying all over the place, jumped out. His face was flushed, his hands covered in soapy suds. Coughing a little, he spoke, “Andria, Mangus is here, and he’s looking for you.” The boys voice snapped Andria out of her state of shock.
“Ha! I bet you ten Js that he ordered the Devil’s Taste!” Andria laughed as she heard about the dumbass drug dealer. Walking in, she took the kitchen door down to the garage. In her hands were several rusty tools and car parts. In her pocket was the contract for one little girl. Alice, a sixteen year old girl in the slums, had fetched it for Andria.

Dropping off the muffler and berrings, Andria went up to the pub proper. A towel in her hands, Andria began to wipe off the grease that covered her hands. Thankfully, Mangus’ back was to the garage. As such, Andria took her time to grab a particularly large knife from behind the counter. Then, walking up behind Mangus silently, she brought the steel point down. Her arm wrapped around his shoulders, the knife less than a hair’s breadth from the drug dealer’s hand, Andria’s voice came out melodiously.

“Mangus, dead men refer to me as Drake, you know this.” Smiling with vicious intent, Andria left the knife in the table. Walking back up to the bar, letting her towel drop on the counter, she continued talking. “Last time I checked, Sloth likes to show up around this time.” A sinister smile played on her lips as she thought of how Sloth would rip this guy to shreds if he saw him.

Nov 1, 2017 - Serpent's Lair - 12:36 PM

Sol sways to his feet from the bar stool, cigar almost burned down, and stamps his way across the pub to Benril. Might as well mess with him while he's still alive. "Hey Benny, since your on short time, how 'bout you give me a discount. I'll be here for a bit so don't think too hard on it, wouldn't want your brain to catch on fire." Laughing at his own joke Solomon heads back for the bar reaching into his pocket for a few crumpled up bills. "I'll have the rest of my tab for you soon Drake, but another brew wouldn't hurt my feelings if your feeling generous."

Waiting for the possibility of a drink he snuffs out the old cigar and slides another one out of his jacket pocket. Have to get back to work sometime soon. Money from the last job is about to dry up. Might should have just done the little girl. Shaking his head Sol smiles a weary smile, not his style.

Nov 1, 2017 - the Serpent's Lair - 12:45pm

Sloth entered the Den, embracing the familiar warmth of this second home, recognizing a few faces around the room. First was the hulking mass of the hallucinogen junkie detective Solomon Firenz, and he didn't need to see his face to know it was him, he was leaning on the bar talking to Andria, Mabel's help for the last couple years. Sloth didn't have a problem with Solomon, he helped track down folks, kids especially, mostly from the Slums, and for that he had his respect. They didn't cross paths much, but when they did it was always civil, Sloth had even scored him some military grade LSD back in the day. With their fields of work though it was better they didn't interact much, although Sloth was always available for information if he could cough up the change if it wasn't already blown on drugs. Next was Andria Fenter, known as Drake in select circles, Sloth didn't mind her too much either, anyone helping out Ms Mabel was okay in his book. It was nice for Mabel to have a female companion around, keep her a little soft around the edges where'd she'd gone hard. Andria was young but she was a damn good mechanic and possessed another set of skills he admired, he saw her like a younger sister, but would never tell her, so he always made sure he watched out for her.

Giving a silent nod to Mabel he started walking towards the bar when out of the corner of his eye he saw the figure of Benril Mangus sitting at a table in the corner of the room with his back towards him. It had been two years since he'd last seen or heard of him and the memory of him giving Mabel a hard time set a fire inside. He turned and walked towards Benril's unsuspecting figure, the air in the bar grew cold and fell silent. When he was within arm's reach Benril finally noticed something was amiss but it was too late, Sloth grabbed the back of Benril's collar and picked him up out of his chair slamming him face down on the table he was sitting at, exposing his legs and a piece of paper mashed into his back pocket, a bit of blood pooling from his mouth. Pulling out his knife he pressed the cold blade against the jugular of Benril, his right on the blade caressing his throat and the other gripping his collar from behind. He leaned his covered face in next to his right ear and spoke coldly. "I should slit your throat right here but I'd hate to mess up Ma's place, how about we take a walk out back, introduce you to some of my friends?"

"Y-y-y-yy-yo yo, b-b-b-b-be-cool man" Mangus stuttered best he could, feeling the metal draw blood from his neck. He was taken by surprise and today was already hard enough, there were rumors going around his name was on the board and this guy wasn't even a killer, but .. friends sent chills down his spine.

Sloth was about to march Benril outside when he caught a look from Mabel, only she could have prevented what was about to happen.
"And what the fuck do we have here?" Sloth exclaimed, keeping his left hand on the man's collar while returning his knife to it's sheath, first cleaning it on Benril's cheek. He reached down and took the crumpled paper from his back pocket, opened it, read it, and stashed it in his own jacket. He left the lucky man bent over the table with a streak of blood across his face and took a seat at the end of the bar, opposite where the commotion took place. "Yo Andria, could I get a water?" ( he can drink through his mask) talking as if the incident never occurred, the menace leaving his voice.

Nov 1, 2017 - the Serpent's Lair - 12:50 PM

Ronan leaned back in his chair, feet up on the table. He was rubbing the chin of one of the cats that often came into the bar. He had just witnessed a bundle of incidents. After the first, Ronan chuckled to himself. Magnus truly believed he would live. He would, just not for long.

Ronan still had an eye on his target, the cat getting upset on the few occasions where he stopped petting it. Ronan didn't know what Magnus did, but, like the board said, he clearly pissed some people off. Maybe, instead of killing him, he should tell him how to not be a complete ass. That is, if Magnus would listen.

Ronan moved the cat onto his lap and he sat normally, ready to dig into the meat pie he had ordered. That was, until the sound of Magnus's head slapping a table startled the cat and drew his attention. A very shady man, one even more questionable than Ronan was, had smacked Magnus's head against the table. The only place he recognized the man was from earlier, he was the guy that threw money at the beggars. Ronan figured this guy was a menace, and should probably leave him and anyone he deals with alone. He had to kill Magnus though. He accepted a contract and wouldn't, no he couldn't, go back on that. Even if he promised a message board, he still wouldn't go back on it.

Ronan's hand went into his pocket as he eyed Magnus's drink. Even after being assaulted twice, the man didn't budge from his spot. He even ordered a replacement drink, since his original fell onto the ground. It was time to go in. Ronan took one of his groceries out of his pocket and read the label. It was a bottle of pure, liquid zinc phosphide. He'd pour the whole damn bottle into Magnus's drink. It would either kill him or make him very sick. Either way, it would lead to something Ronan wanted. The only downside was that after Magnus drank it, it might take days or weeks for the effects to show. If the Devil said he wouldn't die today, Ronan hoped it would be tomorrow.

Ronan asked for his meal to be put in a bag. After poisoning the son of a bitch, he was going to head home and start working on his stew. He didn't want to be caught up in the mess that would come after.

Ronan walked over to Magnus, sliding the poison back into his pocket. He undid the lid as he spoke, leaning onto the table where the replacement drink was.

"Hey man, you alright? Not really your day, is it?"

"Not really, but I'm still alive."

"That's right, you're not going to die today right? Not according to that fancy dish." Ronan pointed to what was left of the Devil's Taste. It was sitting on the floor. Ronan's sister would've described it as sad, and Ronan agreed. It was sitting there, deflated. If it were alive, it would not be happy.

Magnus laughed, looking at the sad dish on the floor. "Let's just hope it's right!"

While Magnus was looking at the revolting blob on the floor, Ronan slipped the poison into his drink. It wasn't as quiet as Ronan would've liked, but the chatter around them was enough to distract.

Ronan gave Magnus a pat on the back, "Good luck to you man, hopefully you won't get assaulted a third time today."

Ronan grabbed the bag that held his meat pie and walked out the door, a smirk on his face. Sure, he wouldn't die today, but he would be eventually. His next hit was the girl, but he didn't want to do that one today. Ronan wouldn't kill her, he'd just silence her. Whether that meant fixing whatever was bothering her or some other means, he didn't know yet.

Ronan sat down in the park closest to the Serpent's Lair. He pulled out his meat pie. It wasn't crushed, nor was it flakey. He could eat it like a large cookie. Ronan held it in his hands while he ate it. As soon as the flavor of it hit his tongue, he smiled. Hopefully today would be as easy as pouring a vial of poison into a drink.

Nov 1, 2017 - the Serpent's Lair - 1:00pm

Mabel could never forget the day Benril Mangus died in her pub.

Ronan had just left and she was cleaning his table when it happened. Mangus stood up abruptly from his seat, his eyes wide-opened with horror. He tried to look down on his own neck as his left hand reached and felt for it. Then he panicked and started scratching on his throat frantically.

"No, no, go away!" He screamed, catching the whole pub's attention as his nails clawed deep into his throat leaving behind deep blood marks. He looked so terrified that he stumbled back into his chair and fell down on the floor, yet he kept scratching on his throat with his hands. Mrs Mabel was shocked at the turn of events and she tried to rush to the poor man's aid, but as she approached blood started bursting out from Mangus's throat- his nails had cut through his own blood vessels. The man's body trembled rapidly and uncontrollably as blood flooded into his windpipe, choking him as he tried to say something.

"..."

"What you mean?" Mrs Mabel asked, urgently. But there was no reply.
Benril Mangus had died, drowning in his own blood.

A new mystery had unveiled itself.

November 1,2017-Some random ally in the slums-1:05pm

"Alright Johnny, run this bullshit by me one more time". Vito spoke, placing a cancer stick betwixt his lips, lighting it with a silver plated zippo. In front of him was Johnny Scaletto, one of the pawns to Mabel and her crew. A male of average height and build,a mop of sandy blonde hair and pale blue eyes."I already told ya, Benril got hit. Someone musta poisoned the bastard. No blood,no weapons, just keeled over.". Vito took a deep inhale and let out a thin stream of gray smoke upon exhaling."See ya left that part out,ya damn idiot...When did shit go down?". Johnny pulled up his sleeve and looked at his watch, a obviously fake rolex."Like..5 minutes ago?". Vito chuckled slightly before throwing a wild punch, which connected hard with Johnny's face."Why didn't ya say that first! Suspect could be halfway cross the city at this point". The detective sighed and rubbed his temples."Goddamnit Johnny...I'm off,try not to be such a dumbass while I'm gone."Johhny couldn't respond to Vito's comment. Mainly because he was now out-cold in the dank alley way where the 'conversation' had taken place. Vito dropped the cigarette from his lips and stomped it out with the heel of his shoe."Time for work I guess." And with that he was off, leaving Johnny to whatever in the alley.

November 1,2017-The Serpent's Lair- 1:10pm

Vito hated running. But he hated losing a suspect more. He was nearly out of breath when he reached the door to the pub, where criminals of all sorts hang out and talk about..whatever. Vito took a minute to regain his composure before pushing the door open and taking a few steps inside."Alright, NCPD,Detective Vito.Just Vito. Nobody move or try any funny shit, unless ya feel like gettin capped. Everybody understand?". The detective dug around in his jacket and produced yet another cigarette. Another quick zippo flick and it was lit, filling the air around him with a thin cloud of gray smoke. He briefly scanned over the crowd, which consisted of no one he knew, but all criminal in one way or another. He wouldn't be surprised if weapons were drawn, hell, any cop stupid enough to come here probably half expected it too. Vito just didn't care. Johnny once said he had a 'no fucks given additude',which was probably the smartest thing he said in a while. His eyes found the dead man and a shocked Mabel. Nothing more than a small scoff escaped from his mouth, along with more cigarette smoke. "So,who the hell knows what happened here?"

"Fuck" Sloth said aloud to no one in particular, "now that was something wasn't it? to think, just twenty minutes ago I almost did this shitbag a favor, hahaha, life has a hell of a sense of humor don't it?"
"Oh shut it Sloth" Mabel replied exasperatedly, she'd watched the whole thing pan out and seemed a little shaken. It wasn't like Mabel to get worked up over something like this but with old age she was becoming more tender and compassionate.

"Sorry Ma" he replied

Benril Mangus had just collapsed clawing at his throat like a feral cat, an obvious poisoning, and based on the interaction that just transpired Sloth was pretty sure who did it. Some cat he seen around the Slums a few times, but never really interacted with, he was an immigrant, so it wasn't necessary. "Kid walks over, pats him on the back, and not ten minutes pass after he leaves and the bum's dead. Might be a contract killer, who knows" thinking to himself

"Yo Andria could I get that water? You can go back to flirtin' with detective junkie after, no offense Sol hahaha" Sloth was in unusually high spirits and feeling vocal, ready for confrontation. Not moments after the words left his mouth the doors to the Inn swung inward.

"Alright, NCPD,Detective Vito.Just Vito. Nobody move or try any funny shit, unless ya feel like gettin capped. Everybody understand?"

Sloth turned his head to see Detective Vito, someone he was familiar with since his childhood, he was a few years his senior and he really didn't care for him too much.
"Ay, fuck off Vito, the hell you doing around here anyway you heap of stinking shit" Sloth said swiveling around in the barstool to face him. "What happened here? How the fuck are we supposed to know Vito, huh? I'm tryna get a fuckn' water that's what's happening here, Christ can I get that damned water Andria, jesus. Ay and Vito put your fucking cigarette out for christ's sake, does this look like a fucking barn to you? Your breath with yesterdays ass on it is already bad enough, don't bring that secondhand shit in here" Turning to face Mabel speaking with his hands, "Ya'know Mabel this is not the exemplary customer service I expect of such a refined and prestigious establishment that has come to be the Serpent's Lair, home to crooks, criminals, passerbys and shithead detectives like Vito over there. It's just not good for business Ma, look at the company we're attracting" turning back to face Vito "Okay look I'll tell you everything I know, pinky promise it's true Detective Vito." holding up a gloved pinky "I come in here after a fucking outrageous day you wouldn't believe Mr Vito sir. So here I was in the upper district, prowling around as usual all by my lonesome up to no good of course and this lady calls me over, and I'm like hey, what a sweet piece of ass. She tells me she loves a mysterious man and she's all whispering in my ear n shit and I guess you could say I'm the perfect fucking candidate because ay, you can't see my face. Anyways long story short, I'm fucking Mayjor Jess would you believe the shit Vito? Infuckingcredible day I tell you guy, incredible. Mind blowing piece of ass that Mayor Jess" turning back around to face the bar. "We pay for information around here Mr.Detective, and information ain't cheap my friend, so fuck off cause I know a sack o' shit like you can't afford it, good day sir. Oh wait, before you go here's something on the house" he dug around his pocket for a moment, paused, looked over his shoulder and pulled out a middle finger "Fuck off Vito"

"Hey Ma, could you take care of that water for me?"

Ay,fuck off Vito, the hell you doing around here anyway you heap of stinking shit". Now there was somebody he missed, who knew Sloth came around these parts? Actually Vito did but yet again, did he care? Nope. Sloth was about halfway through whatever the fuck he was talkin about when Vito's pager went off. *buzz* *buzz*,the detective dug around in his jacket and(eventually, lots a shit in there) found his pager.911- M.DOCKS. 911 was his badge number, ironic right? The M stood for Murder and DOCKS was where it had happened. The only part of Sloth's rant he caught was-Mind blowing piece of ass that Mayor Jess.. "Mmhm yeah, no one wants to hear ya damn wild ass fantasies Sloth, just stay outta the way so I finish up here and move on to this damn Docks murder". Vito dropped his cigarette to the hardwood floor and stomped it out with his heel. He walked over to the now dead Benril Magnus and began his 'investigation' but not before putting on some gloves, dead bodies are dirty as hell. Obviously, there was blood and a metric shit ton of it.Musta been poisoned. Thanks Johnny, not as useless as I thought. Vito collected some blood and bagged it,shoving the bag somewhere in his jacket. He'd drop it off to one of the C.S.I's at the dock,so they can do a tox-screen on it. Instead of his jacket, his notepad always resided in his front pocket.

Name: Benril Magnus
Age: Who fuckin knows
D.O.D: Nov 1,2017
Body Condition:[as of 1:05pm]: Laid beside a table on a pool of blood. A fallen chair beside him. Hands covered with his own blood. Right hand appeared to be grabbing on his neck, as blood was still flowing out of his throat. Left hand laid by his side. "There's less blood on his left palm, seemed to have grabbed on something before he died." His eyes were wide-opened and full of fear, as if he had seen something very scary. Mouth slightly opened and flooded with blood. "Death drowning in his own blood." He seemed to have sweated a bit too much. "Maybe on drug?"

P.O.I:Nobody,yet
Suspects:Again,Nobody.

"Well I'm out ya degenerates, stay safe or don't,I really don't give half a fuck". Vito tipped his hat to Mabel and made sure to give a shit-eatin grin to Sloth."Ay,just a little btw, that whisky you sold me was a complete rip-off,shit didn't even hit hard". Vito put his notepad away and proceed out the door, making his way to a warehouse in the docks.

November 1,2017-Warehouse,Docks District-1:22pm

Detective Tony was currently puking his guts out in a ditch when Vito arrived."That bad?". The young detective looked up to Vito and nodded.Well half his damn head is busted wide open,so yeah". Vito shook his head and went inside the derelict building. A C.S.I was taking pictures of the 'body' if you could even call it that. The detective removed the bagged q-tip from his jacket and tossed it to the C.S.I."Tox-screen,run in at the station". The C.S.I nodded and went about his business. Time to start another 'investigation'.

Name: Who fuckin knows
Age: Read above sentence.
Body Condition:{As of 1:22pm} Propped up against a pillar with a large pool of blood around him. Victim has a cloth tied around his eyes, wet with the own bastards tears. Several broken ribs along with a fractured skull, which seems to be the cause of death.A broken and bloody pipe was found in close vicinty to the victim, with his blood and brain matter on it. Disgusting. Only group I know to be this vicious are the Sujo Natives. And I just so happen to know one.

P.O.I: Sloth the Dealer.
Suspects: I gotta feelin sloth is behind this in some way. But for now...nobody.

Vito put his notepad away and went back outside. He half expected Sol to be here, the crack-pot junkie detective. Despite being high nearly all the time,he did good work as a detective,so Vito had some minor respect for the guy. Hell, this one time Vito saw him blow a perp in half with the damn cannon on his hip. Those were the good ol' days, and remembering such brought a grin to Vito's face."Detective Vito!!".Shit..the Sarge. Vito already knew from his tone of voice that he was not happy...

Andria blinked as she witnessed what happened to Benril. Smiling to herself, her breath a whispy sigh. Damn, that guy was getting better. To kill Benril in broad daylight and go about nearly unnoticed by anyone who wasn't in the trade, Andria smiled to herself. Then, like nails on a chalkboard, Andria heard Sloth's voice.

"Fuck, Sloth! I heard you! I don't know if you noticed or not, being stuck behind that bitch mask of yours, but this faggot," Andria kicked Benril's corpse, making a point and pushing it towards the back door. "Just fucking keeled over! I fucking hate it when you pieces of crap kill people in the inn! It makes my job harder." Andria brought the glass of water over to Sloth's table. Placed it down roughly in front of the man, she leaned in closer. Another knife, from where nobody knows, appeared in her other hand as she wrapped her arm around Sloth's shoulder. The blade laid against the lower edge of the man's mask.

"Don't fucking joke about me and the fucking junkie. That is a no and I don't ever want to have that visual again." Her words were soft-spoken and most definitely threatening. Sloth, out of everyone who knew Andria, was the only one who knew about her 'side-job'. As such, he also knew that she could follow up on her threat. "Understood?" Giving him a closed smile, the red-headed girl waited for him to respond.

Alice moved furtively. She was one of the numerous reasons that Andria got the jobs done. Among the countless other slums kids that helped the woman, Alice was one of the best. As such, she was currently sneeking into the Watson's home. Alice, being the excellent thief she was, was hardly ever caught. Climbing up between the two buildings, the black haired teenager could see into the child's home. She had been tasked with, for half the cut, to grab the child from its home. Opening the window slightly, the child began to wail.

Alice's face was crestfallen. This was going to be a problem, no wonder the child was in danger. Stepping in through the window, Alice's short hair stayed close to her head, her long legs allowing her to step over the numerous toys that littered the floor. Looking in over the crib, Alice's eyes narrowed. This crying thing was just too damn cute!

Sighing, she grabbed the blanket that the child layed on. Wrapping up the crying bundle, Alice fastened the girl to her back. Lifting her black hood, as to cover her face, Alice stepped out the window. Just as her head dropped down beneath the sill, the door to the room flung open. A man, rat-like and worried, began to run around the room. Like water, Alice flowed down between the two buildings. Running off into the streets, Alice didn't know that the man had seen her fleeting form.

"Hey great catching up Vito! Dinner sometime this week ay?" Sloth said sarcastically waving at the detective "and that was top of the line horse piss I sold ya, you ungratful bastard hahaha" the detective left the Inn and Andria got going, sometimes his mouth got him into some situations.

"Say thanks for finally bringing the wa-" before he could finish Andria had wrapped her arm around him and had a blade teasing his jawline.

"Understood?"

Now this wasn't the first nor the last time sloth has had a weapon pointed in his direction, so he had grown quite comfortable in these situations, this is when the dealer shined. Though he had to admit, she had balls for even touching him, let alone threatening.

speaking in a playfully seductive tone, "Andriaa, doll, you know you're really too pretty to be in this-" so only she could hear "line of work" raising his voice back to normal, "If I wasn't married to the Slums, who knows maybe I'd take you out for a night, show you around the place, teach you a few things, show you a real good time, whadya' say?" grabbing the hand holding the knife he pulled the blade down to his throat pressing it firmly against his skin, his tone changing, laced in dread "I don't know what you think you're trying to pull but don't underestimate for one second the loyalty of the company I keep, if you think for a moment Mabel wouldn't have you gone in a matter of minutes if you tried some funny shit, you need to do some self evaluation doll. It would be a slow, calculated and tortuous affair, every minute would feel like eternity, first a toe, then a finger" letting each line hang in the air. "You know better than most what I'm talking about, Drake" letting the alias come out hushed yet sharp. Using his free hand to grab the back of her head firmly, yet respectfully, he stood up and brought his covered lips to her ear, knife still against his throat "Suujoooo (suho)" letting out the cold call of the notorious gang. "But neither of us want that, now do we? but I do want something and he whispered something to her no one else could hear (pm @drake)"

Releasing his grip on her hand, Sloth turned around and walked out the Den, headed towards the Market District to pay a certain someone a visit. He said murder at the docks, only a matter of time before they found him, but how did he get to the Den so fast? How did he know. "I got a sneaking suspicion of some foulplay" he thought, he re routed to the Slums.
