A raven caws before it takes flight; through the skies of Earth, above the humans.

Once, mankind accepted a simple truth; that they were not alone in this universe. In some worlds, Man believed home to their Gods. Others, they knew to fear. From around the cold and darkness, came the Frost Gods.

The raven continued to fly through the sky, going through the upper clouds, before going into a gray one, which appears to have snow and ice on top of it; a wintry landscape, with frigid blasts of cold air riding in the wind. The bird flew over one of the mountains, where one of the common residents spotted it.

Forged in a body of ice, with eyes red as blood, these beings took their toll on war. Threatening to plunge mankind into a new ice age from above.

Areas upon Earth began to freeze over, and a mother and child tried to evade the cold air, but have froze on the spot. Then, an army of golden-armored beings ran through the area towards the invaders. The battle was vicious until it all fade to black.

The Asgardian army drove the Frost Ones back into the heart of their own world in the clouds, far separate from the victors' own homeland. In the end, the enemy's king Laufey fell. And the source of their power was taken from them.

The Casket of Ancient Winters, their homeland's power source, was picked up from its stand, just before their icy realm began to crumble, and fall apart, leaving it into ruin and desolation.

With the great war ending, the oldest story ever told, was written in the stars. Stories of time, when the Asgardians ruled above the Earth. These beings were powerful gods, each bearing and representing the natures of mankind: Thor became king of the heavens, and ruled over the strongest of storms, with his beloved queen Sif letting the plants grow and nourish; Balder, giving the sun to light the way, and Tyr, bestowing great strength in warfare. And tricksters, Loki and Lochila, aiming towards chaos and misery. In time, restlessness will come and, finally, rise up against them. In this world, a child was born. A girl who would change everything.

---------------------------------------------

Nineteen years old. Nineteen. That was how long Lochila had been taking care of her. The blonde daughter of a god she once hated. It was all Loki's fault that got her into this mess. They were both punished, in a very different way: Him, eternal imprisonment; her, eternal motherhood. At first, she was disgusted to even look at the babe; hold her in her arms, as if she was the ugliest thing in the world. Her cries kept her up at night, and there were some days where she wanted to terminate and be rid of it. However, whenever she heard laughter, there was a flutter in her stoned-up heart that she couldn't get rid of. It was a light shining through it, and that was when she realized that there was a bit of fondness for the child.

Every time, the little thing smiled or laughed, a crack would appear on Lochila's face, even without her realization. It was almost like the first time she had ever spotted a baby, but she ignored those. However, when she saw this one, disgust was on her, but now, she wasn't so sure. She's been to Earth many times during her and older brother's exploits, so she wasn't blind or deaf to the concept of raising babies, or children, for that matter. Not to mention, that on Asgard, there were plenty of them. For some reason, in her eyes, Torunn became one of the few Lochila would ever wave off. She was special, both literally and figuratively; a pure soul. There were even days where the goddess of mischief wanted her as her own. But she wasn't. Besides, there was nothing relatable between them; Torunn was someone who would be in the clouds, while Lochila would belong underground. That was the reality: she was pure, and she was not.

As the years passed, Lochila, eventually, internally-admitted that she adored the girl. From a babe, to the pre-adult she was now. They moved from New Mexico, to New York City, once Torunn turned thirteen. From the small town in the desert, to the big city Lochila knew all too well. She figured that Torunn would fit in here, once she became an adult, and that day was today. Having to already live in a wealthy penthouse together, the girl found her own apartment to move into. Truth be told, the goddess didn't want her to leave her sight, since she's someone who's not originally from this world and, how protective she was, there were times where Lochila would spy on her with her magic, in order to know where she was at all times. But she couldn't follow her for long, since her magic is slightly weaker on Earth, than how it is back in Asgard. In addition, she hated to keep lying to her, as well; that her whole life spent on Earth wasn't exactly true, and that she was never her real mother to begin with. These were things she couldn't tell her, not yet. So, as the goddess of deceit, things were to remain concealed from the girl's sight.

The woman was on a professional call with one of her co-workers from a job she had to sneak into, in order to keep their lives together. Torunn would sometimes ask her how they got this rich, but the goddess said that it was "a well-paid position" (though the truth was that she got herself inside through magical influence). The news on the hugely-dimensioned tv nearby has been going through, since morning, and Lochila's been on the phone, since that said-morning. Taking a glance at the framed selfie-picture of herself and Torunn on her desk, she smirked at the memory before going back to talking.

Torunn Thorsdottir

Torunn walked along the sidewalk with a small group of her friends, one of them was a girl with dark brown hair and the other was a boy with light brown hair. "So where do you plan on going for college wise Tori?" The boy asked, his name was Jared she had met him when she turned thirteen when she and her mother had moved from New Mexico to New York City. She remembered the small town that she grew up in, even though she had made a few friends back there she felt a lot more comfortable when they moved out to the city. Torunn looked up at him for a moment as she awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck for a moment as she started to think about where she wanted to go. "I actually really haven't thought about it." Torunn answered shyly as they started to walk down the stairs to the subway, graduation wasn't that far off only a few more weeks to go. She was always very smart and always got very good grades on just about all of her paperwork and tests, not to mention she did take up track and field for her after school activity.

"You should at least have some kind of prospects out there lined up." The girl said, her name was Kayla, they had met during her second year of high school. "I'm just picky on what I want to do, i'll figure something out don't worry." Torunn said giving her friend a gentle nudge as they made it to the bottom of the set of stairs in the subway, Torunn took out her subway card and moved through the gate. They moved down to a lower platform where the tracks were. Torunn adjusted her purse over her shoulder as she looked around at the people around them, the subways were always busy, but it did beat walking along the busy streets and the sidewalks as well.

A few minutes later of waiting the subway came to a stop at the station, Torunn got in along with her two friends she looked around until she found an empty seat on the side of the car. Both Kayla and Jared sat down next to her as she leaned back in the seat closing her eyes as she took a slight breath and relaxed. "So are you at least going to the party tomorrow tonight Tori?" Kayla asked looking at her friend, it was going to be a graduation party for their class, and the whole class would be there. "I don't know maybe?" Torunn answered, she didn't really care much for parties she always felt awkward and weird. "Well you better it's like a once in a lifetime chance to you know." She said as she playfully nudge Torunn's shoulder.

"Alright i'll at least text you if i'm able to or not, stop hounding me." Torunn said with a slight laugh as the subway finally came to a stop, and they were at the right subway station. She slowly stood up and started to get off along with her two friends, though Jared and Kayla needed to get on another train nearby. "I'll see you guys later." Torunn said as she watched both Jared and Kayla leave, she turned around and started to leave the subway station, heading up the flight of stairs, her eyes scanning the nearby area as she walked along the sidewalk towards their apartment building.

After having to look at the photo on her desk, memories of their eighteen years together came to her like a flash...

--------

A little girl, around the age of 6, runs down the street. She wears a huge grin, and her short blonde hair bounces behind her. It was the first day of school, and she was so excited to go. The morning sun had just barely started peaking over the roofs of the city buildings, and the streets were already busy.

"Torunn!" A dark haired woman shouts from behind her. Torunn giggles and stops just long enough to turn and see the woman walking after her, before taking off running again. "Torunn slow down!"

"Mommy, come on!" The girl shouts back, waving her forward. "We're going to miss the bus." The girls mother shook her head and chuckled.

"No, we won't. We're early." She replied as she caught up with her daughter. Torunn started to turn and run again, but her mother grabbed her hand and held fast. "We won't be late." She reassured.

As they neared the bus stop, Torunn started hopping in excitement. "Look mom, the bus. It's the bus!" She started trying to run to the bus. Her mother stopped her and turned the girl to face her. Kneeling down to her level, she smiled and planted a kiss to her forehead. "Have fun, and be good." She said before kissing her cheek this time. "I love you."

"Love you too mommy." Torunn said quickly before she ran to the bus and stood in line to get on. She looked at her mom and smiled, waving, before an got on, and headed to school.

***

"Mom, can I start wearing makeup?" Torunn stared in the mirror and scrunched her face up. She would look so much better with it. At least she thought she would. "Mom?"

"What makes you think you need makeup?" Lochilla asked as she came to the bathroom door and leaned against its frame.

"Mom, I'm ugly. I need makeup. Besides, I'm 10 years old now." Torunn said matter of factly. Lochilla smiled and shook her head. She walked into the bathroom and got on her knees, looking in the mirror next to Torunn.

"You know what I see?" She asked as she looked at Torunn in the mirror. Lochilla grabbed the girls shoulder length hair and let it slip through her hand slowly. "I see a beautiful young lady, that doesn't need makeup. I see a young lady that is more beautiful without it." Torunn scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"You're just saying that because you're my mom." She said with a smile she was trying to fight off. Although she didn't think she was pretty, her mom, and everyone else seemed to think so.

"I'm saying it, because its true." Torunn turned and looked at her mother face to face, then smiled, and wrapped her arms around her neck in a tight hug. Torunn may have not believed she was pretty, but Lochilla knew, without a doubt, that she was beautiful, and that beauty would only get better as she grew.

***

"Torunn, what happened?" Lochilla asked, concern in her voice. The girl in question stopped her trek to her room and remained still. She knew her mother had seen the bruising, or She would have asked. "Torunn, what happened?" She asked again as she came up to the teenager anf placed her hand on her shoulder. Torunn lifted her head and looked at her mother, her face neutral. Her left cheek and underneath her eye were bruised.

"Some girl at school though it would be funny to hit the girl that doesn't fight. Just to see if she could get her to." Yes, Torunn hated confrontation, and she hated to fight, yet some girl try to get her to. Why, she didn't know. Lochilla looked in her daughter's eyes.

"Did you?" She asked, genuinely curious. Torunn shook her head and looked away from her mom.

"No, I didn't. You know I hate to fight mom." The girl adjusted her backpack and start to head to her room again, when her mother grabbed her hand and stopped her. "Mom, just let me go." Torunn said in irritation.

"Torunn, listen to me. One day, you're going to have to fight." Torunn just shook her head and pulled her hand from her mother's grasp.

"Not If I can help it." She said as she went into her room, shutting the door behind her. Lochilla stayed in the Sam spot and crossed her arms over her chest, shaking her head.

"Teenagers. If only she knew."

-------

Lochila was in the middle of the call for another hour that afternoon, and part of her wondered if she should listen to the person on the receiving end. Tracing her emerald-green eyes around the room, the raven-black haired woman did just that: Listened (though her powers of hypnosis have been doing most of the work to control the people within her job). If she ever used those said-powers, her eyes glow brighter in that natural green color, implying that the said-power is in effect upon the person on the receiving end. It was the easiest way to earn the highest pay of living on Earth a little longer.

The more money, the longer she would be able to support both herself and Torunn. Twirling the pen in her hand, the goddess stood up for her seat at the large desk, and wrote down an important notice on her calendar. After making the note, the glow in her eyes faded, going back to their natural-dim tone. She ended the call, shortly after, until she leaned back in her chair.

Torunn Thorsdottir

As Torunn walked down the sidewalk she stopped for a moment looking at an elderly man who seemed to have been down on his luck, his clothes were filthy and he appeared to be homeless. She started to dig through her purse and pulled out a twenty dollar bill, and handed him the money. She truly always did feel horrible when she saw someone living on the streets, she always did what she could try and help them out whenever possible. "It's not much, but maybe it would get you a few hot meals." Torunn said with a soft and friendly smile, the man seemed to instantly perked up and started to thank her multiple times and shook her hand.

She was lucky that she and her mother lived a pretty good life so far, Torunn remembered living in the really nice penthouse with her mother during her final year of high school she did manage to convince her to let her live on her own. The small apartment wasn't that far now, as she looked up at the building she called home. Torunn pulled out her apartment keys and headed inside of the building, she started to head to the elevator and pressed the top floor. Leaning her back up against the wall she pulled out her phone to see if she had gotten any texts from anyone.

Torunn looked up and saw a few people getting into the elevator, she gave them a friendly smile and nod she hadn't been living on her own for that long. And she didn't really know the other tenants in the building itself as Torunn turned her attention back to her phone, she decided once she had gotten home she would text her mother to let her know that he had gotten back to her apartment safely. Once the elevator came to a stop on her floor she quickly got out, making her way towards her room. Torunn pulled out her set of keys and unlocked the door, closing it behind her.

She was instantly greeted by a orange long haired cat, named Buddy as the cat meowed at her Torunn smiled brightly at the little guy as she kneeled down and picked up the cat in her arms. "I missed you to." Torunn said happily as she gave the cat a kiss on the head before putting him down, she remembered about five years ago she found the cat as a homeless kitten and instantly fell in love with the little fur ball. She remembered it took such a long time until her mother finally caved in and let her keep him. Torunn walked over and started to put in a fresh bag of cat food into his bowl the cat instantly dived right for it and started eating rather quickly she pulled out her cell phone again and started to text her mother.

To Mom:
"Heya, just wanted to let you know I made it to my apartment safely."

She hit send and decided to grab herself a snack to eat herself, walking over to a nearby cupboard and pulled out an opened bag of chips she had been eating the last few days. Torunn grabbed the remote, turning on the TV as she quickly flopped down on the couch to find out anything interesting was on the News.

Looking back at the framed selfie picture of her and a blonde, sixteen year-old girl, the goddess made that fond smirk again, until her cellphone gave a ring. Quickly, the black-haired woman turned it on, and saw a text from Torunn, telling her that she was safe and sound in her own apartment. It was one of those motherly habits that Lochila decided to recommend as the girl had gotten older. Plus, it was for her own benefit that Lochila would know of her whereabouts at all times. Giving a relieved sigh, she texted back.

To Torunn:
"Good. Hey, since it's Friday, why don't you come up? Perhaps order dinner together?"

Sending the text right back to her, the goddess only prayed that what she was doing was inconspicuous; not on purpose. Setting the phone down, Lochila decided that a good stretch was in order from a long day at work. Having to stand up, she inhaled deeply, while letting her arms go above her head. In truth, she found the technique humans call "yoga", fascinating. Unlike her brother, the goddess was fond of Earth's culture, and having to relax was better than having a racing mind when you're attempted to use magic. She didn't tell Thorinof her abilities, nor did she plan to.

Straightening her black, designed dress that's been hugging her frame, Lochila strolled in her black heels to the huge penthouse window nearby, gazing outside at the view of the Big Apple, and waited for the nineteen year-old.

As Torunn watched the TV, she felt her phone vibrate and quickly reached for it looking down at her screen and smiled softly when she saw that it was from her mother. She looked over at the bag of chips that she had started to eat, the idea of ordering out wasn't a bad idea and she had been meaning to go and visit her mother as well. Torunn moved over to the small kitchen setting the bag of chips inside the cabinets that she had kept her snacks in, before pulling out her phone to text her mother.

To Mom:
"From that pizza and wings place we always order from, i'm in. Be there in about ten minutes or so love you and see you soon!"

Torunn hit send as she reached over for her apartment keys as well as her purse, looking over towards her cat Torunn smiled happily and gently ruffled the fur on the cat's head. "See you when I get back." She said to the cat as she walked out and closed the door behind her, she made sure that it was locked up before heading down towards the elevator. Even though she sees her mother at least a few times a week, she was always really happy to see her regardless. Torunn hit the floor button as the elevator went back down to the ground floor, it wasn't that far of a walk, it was about five blocks down from her apartment building.

She stuffed her hands into her pocket as she started to walk along the sidewalk, she would occasionally smile and wave at a few people who walked by her. About ten minutes or so later Torunn was at the building where she had lived in for a long time, she knew the doorman there and gave him a friendly nod before heading over towards the elevator. She hit the top floor where the penthouse was at, when it came to a stop Torunn got out making her way to the front door as she started to knock on the door.

Having to look out for only a few moments, the woman felt the phone vibrate within her hand. Smirking amusingly, she turned it on, and found Torunn's latest message. She didn't answer her back, but that she would turn up sooner than later. So, between those ten minutes, she started by ordering one of the girl's favorites: a large, stuffed-crust pepperoni pizza! She learned to love it, since third grade, and has been having ever since. Of course, Lochila had to spoil Torunn with it every time they ordered from that one particular restaurant; that didn't mean that the goddess will not be offered any though. Hell, sometimes she wondered whether if she spoiled her too much, speaking of such a thought.

After having to make the order, it was only about five minutes later when she heard knocking. Putting an ear to the door, she listened if there was anything suspicious outside before delicately looking through the peephole, having to find a familiar face that she knew all too well. The black-haired woman smirked, before gripping the doorknob, and pulling the obstacle opened. There she was, still having to possess the kindness and strong-will of her mother Sif, as well as the golden hair and blue eyes of her father Thor. "I thought you would be spending time with your friends tonight", she recalled, before opening her arms for a hug.

Torunn stood in front of the door for a few moments it wasn't that long until she could hear the door unlocking, then opening a few seconds later. Torunn smiled brightly as she quickly went over and returned the hug giving her a loving kiss on the cheek, as she let herself inside looking around the penthouse it looked like it hadn't changed much since she had moved out on her own. Torunn quickly turned around when Lochila thought that she would be out with her friends. "I see them pretty much on a daily basis mom, I sometimes rather hang out with you instead." Torunn said giving her a loving smile.

She walked over setting her purse down onto the kitchen counter looking over at her. "How has your day been, the call meeting thing go well today?" Torunn asked, she was getting pretty hungry as she moved to sit down on the chair in the kitchen she was going to wait though until dinner arrived she couldn't wait to just dig in and eat the pepperoni pizza which she always loved when they ordered out. "Was thinking maybe we could watch a movie or a show tonight or something as well?"

Lochila willingly returned the hug that the girl immediately gave her and, truth be told, she had missed those loving hugs that the golden-haired teenager has always given her, growing up. It was one of those maneuvers that made the goddess grow fond of her in the first place. Watching Torunn walk by, the black-haired woman closed the door, once the girl made her full entrance to the couch. She continued to give that fond, motherly smile to her, even as Torunn remarked about her friends, as well as her choice to visit her "mother" on an almost-daily basis.

She chuckled when the girl asked her about her daily meetings over the phone. "Busy. Just one of those usual days where one makes a simple phone call, and a prolonged speech full of complaints", she explained with a sigh while going to the dry-erase board just behind her desk, a few paces away from where Torunn stood in the kitchen, and wrote down a note on her schedule, right next to the calendar. "Have another one in a few hours", in truth, being a CEO was a pain, especially when she using her powers and natural talents to continue supporting herself and Torunn.

Just as Lochila placed the necessary note, her green eyes went to the huge plasma television that was a few paces near her albeit farther away from Torunn. The news went on about the severe weather all week, but the goddess internally figured that Thor was only in one of his foul moods. However, to find these weather phenomena happening randomly, it became mildly different than how it usually was on Earth. It was happening all around the country, as well as the world. Nothing was happening in New York now, so Lochila didn't worry, though was concerned for the city she and Torunn were currently in.

Torunn turned her head to listen to Lochila speak about her job, she nodded slightly siting in a chair all day and listening to phone calls did seem pretty boring to her at least. "Sitting around all day making phone calls does sound pretty boring." Torunn said giving a slight laugh, she turned her attention towards the news. Seeing the weather forecast it seemed that there had been a lot of severe weather lately around the world. Ever since she was young she was always fascinated by thunderstorms, unlike other people she did enjoy listening to the thunder and seeing the lightening in the sky.

Torunn watched as her mother started to write down a note on the dry erase board in the kitchen, she then heard a knock on the door as she got up and made her way over towards the door. She opened the door to see the pizza man carrying the box of pizza, she smiled as she reached for her wallet and started to pay for the pizza. "Thank you." Torunn said as she tipped the man and then turned around to close the door behind her making her way into the kitchen. "The pizza's here." Torunn said as she started to grab herself and Lochila a plate, along with two glasses.

As Torunn finished making herself a plate she sat down at the table in the dining room, as she was about to take a bit she looked around as she started to notice that all the lights in the apartment started to flicker violently. She also started to feel very weird, like her skin was getting very tingly and her hair started going up literally as all the lightbulbs within the apartment exploded. Which made Torunn scream loudly in surprise as she shielded herself from the shattered glass from the chandelier above her. "What just happened?" She asked looking disoriented.

Even as the girl announced about the pizza being delivered, Lochila still had her attention turned towards the muted television. The weatherman stood outside, in a rainy area somewhere in Maine, before the map showed a radar of the east coast. The screen changed again to another weatherman in a chopper, who showed an area in Los Angeles. It was the image of the camera turning towards two tornadoes in a distance away from the flying vehicle. Wait, two tornadoes?! The goddess felt herself fill herself up with a creeping feeling that made the scenario become more than it seemed. She then reached forward towards the television remote, and unmuted the volume.

"...if you look over there behind me, that's a-a tornado! Yes, a twister in Los Angeles! It's one of the many of tornadoes! There's another one! It's magnificent; it's beautiful! I've never seen anything like it!"

The weatherman was shouting now, since the wind of the weather phenomenon made it extremely for him to talk. The high wind made the footage appear shaky, and before the man could speak further, the goddess changed the channel to another, regarding the weather. San Francisco, intense heat; Colorado, flash freezing; and Mexico, severe lightning. Strange, more lightning strikes than usual, the goddess thought, as she looked on at the television.

The goddess didn't jump at the noise, but she did make the same startled noise that her daughter made. She turned her head from the screen, behind her, where she saw Torunn. One thought was going through her mind: Was it really happening? Is she of age? The thoughts made her come to the conclusion that it was girl's first encounter of experiencing her powers. The goddess looked at all the lights that just went out, as she thought about it.

Just before she could register a possibility, a giant flash happened right outside the outstretched, nearby window of the penthouse; not too far from where the goddess was sitting. Then, thunder came; a loud one. Until another flash came, once again. Lochila was startled again.

Just what is going on?

She then turned back around, to face the blonde girl, and approached her in a slightly cautious fashion, since she became wary of Torunn's newfound capabilities, while also being careful of where to step. Maybe Thor's inherited power got transferred to his offspring?, she internally wondered; even after the girl asked her what was going on, how she was capable to do this? She couldn't keep using her magic to conceal every bit of the truth and, sooner enough than later, Torunn will find out about her real heritage; that she's not from this world; that she's not even human. Lochila would gladly keep using her spells, but on Earth, her powers get weaker, contrasting their strength back in Asgard. There was just no limits to the powers there. The question remains, though: What were the lengths of Thor's power down here? Why is there so much more lightning than usual?

"Sweetheart!", she called in the dark, before finding it safe to dash towards the blonde, who appeared to be disoriented. "Torunn", this time, softly, gently placing her hands on her upper arms to help her stand. "Are you alright?", she was trying to comfort her to the best of her ability.

Torunn was still disoriented as she brushed the bits of glass off of her back, looking around when she heard her mother running over to her side. Her attention turning towards her when Lochila reached for her arms, slowly standing up to her feet, looking up at the chandelier above the dinner table seeing that there was shattered lightbulbs everyone of them were broken. Every single electronic in the penthouse apartment was flickering, TV's were either changing to different channels or they flickered on and off. "I feel really weird, whats going on?" She asked.

Torunn knew that mutants like the X-Men all around their powers activated at random, she tucked a stray strand of hair out of her face biting her lower lip. Is she actually doing all of this on her own? Or was there just some strange powersurge going through the entire building due to the weather. Torunn tried her best to try and calm herself down and relax, her body felt all tingly around her as if electricity was flowing all around her. "Did I do all of this?" She asked looking at the bits of glass on the counters and floors from the exploding lightbulbs.

She looked at the glass-induced mess all over the kitchen counter and the floor at their feet. How can she explain that the girl was the daughter of a God, who ruled a legendary world, above Earth? Would Torunn even believe her? Would she walk away? Towering over Torunn, the goddess reassured her by stroking her upper arms. Even if Torunn found out, the black-haired woman would still hesitate on how to explain it clearly for her. How could you tell a child whom you have raised on Earth to believe in something that was otherworldly?

Another lightning strike outside the huge window. This one being less-intense than the last one; the one that almost lit up the entire room. All that ran in Lochila's mind was Thor. Was he in another one of his moods? Or was this something entirely different? The drastic change in the weather was incredibly not common, especially for it to be beyond the Thunder God's capacity to go beyond the limit of how much Earth should receive.

Her green eyes looked into blue. "Fragile things, honey. It was just moisture. Just moisture and humidity", she repeated, with a green glow in the pupils of her eyes; her hypnotizing spell in effect. She hated to use her magic on the girl, but it was the only thing she could do to protect her. "Go get cleaned up. I'll take care of this", she softly told her, using the spell to keep the blonde calm and relaxed.

Torunn Thorsdottir

Torunn looked at the mess still in the room, and jumped once more at the bolt of lightening that happened, feeling her mother's arms on her shoulder she turned to look up at her. Still she wasn't sure what exactly made every single lightbulb in the loft go off, her eyes met Lochila's for awhile and nodded slightly. She somehow started to feel much calmer now and a bit more relaxed, her blue eyes blinking slightly and gave her mother a slight nod. "Alright, I wont take that long.." Torunn said softly as she got up from where she was sitting completely leaving her food there on the table, as if she was under her mother's spell.

Torunn made a beeline to where her bedroom was when she used to live with her mother before moving out when she was finishing up high school, once she was in her bedroom Torunn looked around. Her bedroom looked like ho it always did, and wasn't touched unless she came in to spend a few days with Lochila. She had her own bathroom as well, Torunn walked into it and turned on the water and started to wash her face. Feeling the cool water splashing against her face she looked at herself in the mirror.

Torunn let out a soft sigh as she took a deep breath, she could hear another loud clash of thunder going off in the distance she was still really freaked out about what happened. Once she was finished up Torunn turned and started to leave her bedroom, letting out a slight sigh as she came back into the living room. When she walked into the room, she let out a loud yelp in pain when she stepped on a piece of glass, and made her way towards the couch seeing a bit of glass on the bottom of her feet.

Lochila Laufeysdottir

The boldness of green within Lochila's eyes faded back to its normal state of dimness, once the goddess felt satisfied that Torunn was able to calm down. She quietly sighed in relief, closing her eyes for a moment, just as the blonde girl left her grasp, and departed to the bathroom. Relieved that she was following her suggestions, Lochila had to think to all of the times she had to use her hypnotizing spell upon her. Lochila had the upper advantage since Toruun would always look up and make eye contact with her, like every child would towards their parents. But the benefit of doing such an action was to prevent the blonde from knowing the real truth, having to ease the young woman during every moment that might contradict to her true heritage, and replace that feeling with a "suggestion".

That much thought had Lochila look around at the glass-induced mess, before using her telekinetic energy to levitate every single piece in the penthouse, and bring them into the recycling bin in the kitchen. Just as the pieces landed in the bin, new bulbs flew out a box, and replaced the old ones in the sockets, hanging in the ceiling. The last one went into place, shortly before Torunn came back out...where the lights shortly rebooted. If anybody knew Lochila personally, it was that the woman liked things to be tidy and clean, like any other wealthy woman. But, to the goddess, it was out of preference, as well as for the conditions of living to be suitable for a child to live in. Except that pained yelp made her quickly turn her attention towards the couch, where the blonde had apparently sat in.

She must have missed a piece, which was quite evident, since Torunn was sitting there in pain, holding her foot. Walking towards the girl, Lochila sat next to her. "I've must have missed one. Are you alright?", she asked, once again, concerned. It was quite obvious that she wasn't, since the black-haired woman was looking at small pieces of glass creating wounds on the appendage. Quickly, Lochila stood up, and raced to a cabinet, where she kept a first-aid kit. Settling back next to Torunn at the couch, she tenderly took her foot, while taking up some tweezers and, very carefully, removed the pieces, giving the girl apologetic glances, every time she would wince. She even went as far as to remove her hand from the blonde's foot, and place it on top of hers, before getting back to the task at hand.

Torunn Thorsdottir

Torunn looked down at her foot for a moment, seeing a few shards embedded in her foot her eyes looking up at Lochila's and gave her a pained smile and nodded towards her. "Yeah, it's just a bit of glass.." She answered her mother as she leaned back, she thought about removing them herself but decided against it. It would do more harm than good she thought, as she watched her mother making her way towards a nearby cabinet where they had kept the first aid kit. Torunn let Lochila gently take her foot, and started to grip the sides of the couch tightly for a moment as the first glass shard was pulled out.

"Sorry I didn't see it there at all when I came out of my room.." Torunn said quietly wincing as the glass was plucked out of her foot, breathing heavily and laid her head back as each one was removed. She could feel the slight trickle of blood sliding down the sole of her foot. Torunn knew that Lochila kept very good care of the apartment, and grew up on keeping things neat even her own room in her apartment was kept spotless. Then her mind started to go back to all of the lightbulbs within the apartment shattering, looking over at her mother meeting her gaze once more.

Once the last shard of glass removed she closed her eyes letting out a soft sigh before turning her attention back. "All those lightbulbs getting broken all at the same time is really weird." She said softly, she for now just brushed it off as a massive power outage which was the logical conclusion for now, since it is storming out right now.

Lochila Laufeysdottir

Lochila lightly chuckled at the girl's comment, confirming while understanding her, like how she always did. "Must be".
Although it did make her think: It's time; it has begun...
She gently cleaned the blood of the wound with some healing ointment, before revealing some medical wrap that she could put upon her foot. Once again, it was tended to very carefully. Through centuries of reading many books, Lochila had managed to gain much knowledge when it comes to the ways of healing and medicine. It actually became one of the few topics that she covered without Loki's help. After a few minutes, she had packed the medical kit, and left the box sitting on the glass table, between them and the television. Bringing her legs upon the couch, tucked underneath her, the goddess looked over and down at Torunn, before putting an arm around her shoulder and, using her hand, placed it on the side of her head, and gently pulled her in; laying a soft kiss to her blonde hair, before allowing her to lean into her chest, and rest there. From there, the black-haired woman continued to watch the news, as another wave of thunder rushed over them from the outside.

Outside, a few yards away from the penthouse, another big flash of lightning appeared, along with thunder, as well as another flash coming immediately after. Unbeknownst to the two women, something began to fall from the clouds. It twirled as it fell, appearing almost like an approaching meteorite. It was making its way to Central Park, about a few blocks away from the penthouse. Nobody was there (most likely due to the emergency weather system), explaining its desertion. The falling object finally landed on the walkway in the park, where it created a large crater within the asphalt. It's blade pierced deep into the ground, with its handle sticking upwards...

Torunn Thorsdottir

Torunn leaned back as she let Lochila apply the medical ointment and then wrapping it over her foot, feeling a lot better now as she rested her foot now on the glass counter. She looked over towards the TV as the news continued to play before them, still the weather was a bit crazy as it went to some other stories around the country and the world. She felt her mother wrapping an arm around her shoulder, and smiled as she rested her head up against Lochila's chest letting out a content sigh as she closed her eyes and started to relax somewhat in her mother's arms.

She turned her head to look up at Lochila and gave her a soft and friendly smile. "I love you mom." Torunn said with a soft smile as she turned her attention towards the window. She always didn't mind spending times like this with just herself and her mother, she felt content and safe. Torunn then heard a rather very loud clash of thunder and lightening started to light up the room for a few seconds before it finally went down.

For some reason she did feel a bit drawn to the storm, as she sat up slightly as she watched the rain continue to pelt at the window in front of them. "That felt really close.." Torunn mentioned as she looked over at Lochila for a moment and then leaned back onto her mother's chest, she was curious about what it was but she didn't want to leave the weather was to bad right now and Torunn didn't want to get herself very wet.

Lochila Laufeysdottir

The goddess allowed the girl to rest against her; all the while, she stroked her blonde hair, as Torunn seemed to be at peace within her arms. These nineteen years of simply raising her proved that Lochila cherished the blonde, through-and-through; that regardless of not being related to her, showed that Lochila continued to love her adoptive family, especially Torunn. In a way, she almost wanted to thank the God of Thunder for giving this punishment to her, and to know that the goddess should not become so dependent upon others, especially Loki. This was a new path for her, and a good start towards walking with independence. She can make her own decisions now, and act on where her heart lies. At this point, it was the girl in her arms.

Hearing Torunn speak of her love, the black-haired woman looked down to meet her gaze, and give her an acknowledging smile. "And I, you", she said, softly and motherly as ever, just as she began to stroke the girl's bare arms, gently. It was moments like these that would always remind Lochila of how close she and Torunn have gotten after these many years. She then looked at the window, the moment Torunn did, and continued to stroke the blonde's arm. "Indeed, it did", she agreed, before going into thought. How was she going to explain this to her? A nineteen year-old girl, who grew up under the wisdom of Earth? A girl who just discovered the pre-tension of having abilities that were not of the human world?

It might happen again, right after the light incident, and if it does, Torunn would demand an explanation from her. The black-haired woman didn't want to act like a coward, and keep it in. So, she decided that she was going to explain it to her tomorrow. No more lies; no more spells. She was going to look at her in the eye, and tell her what exactly was going on. She wasn't her brother; not in the very least. So, around seven-thirty the next morning, she got herself ready, and waited for Torunn in the front room; perhaps take her out for coffee, and take a walk through Central Park.

Torunn Thorsdottir

Torunn smiled softly as she felt Lochila gently rubbing her arms which made her feel comforted and safe, forgetting that she even stepped on glass in the first place. The pain just simply felt like it was gone now, and when Lochila said she loved her back made her smile softly as she started to change the TV channel. She was getting a little bit tired of watching the news, even though the weather was a bit interesting, and how weird it had gotten she felt like watching a movie or even some shows. Torunn then decided on a movie instead and got up and started to make some popcorn, regardless of her bandaged foot she limped her way over and started to make it.

She went back and sat back down on the couch snuggling up in Lochila's arms, despite being an adult now at this point she still didn't care if anyone saw her. It was simply their bond that they had to one another as Torunn ate the popcorn and watched the movie, until it was finally over. "Im going to go to bed now." Torunn said towards Lochila as she stood up, and then gave her mother a hug before heading over towards her bedroom. Torunn didn't have anything to do tomorrow and she didn't want to go back to her own apartment and decided to crash in her room for the night.

The next morning Torunn had gotten up around seven thirty in the morning as she got out of her room she made her way back towards the kitchen and looked around. She decided to pour herself a glass of water looking out the window as she noticed that the raining had stopped which was good. Torunn didn't want to really deal with the rain or even walking in it as she took a drink from her glass of water, her thoughts kept going back to the shattered lightbulbs in the entire apartment loft which was still very weird for her.
