Da story so far...

The world of Zamovis, current date, Waaagh! 'Artrippa has ground to something of a standstill against Astra Militarum forces supported by several Astartes strike-forces; through the world-wide conflict move a group of elite greenskin warriors, a band of Orks from multiple klanz around a Blood Axe core, those sneaky, stealthy, all-around feared brotherhood known as 'Da Devilz Brigade' under Mad Boss Gutsnaga.

It's hot work indeed, and Da Brigade has found itself in the Jungles of Navamias almost surrounded by the enemy!

They've been in tighter situations than this and survived before, and with a little Orkish kunnin' the Boss is sure this will be no different...






Welcome one and all!

This roleplay is in a way both a counterweight and a similar one to my Guard but...we're Orks! True, we're Kommandoz - which brings with it a certain sense of 'organisation' in the roughest sense - but Greenskins nonetheless.

I seek a small group (6-8 is probably the max) to represent these fine fighting men, think the Dirty Dozen and the like - a bunch of individuals with their own quirks and roles within the unit, at this point in time fighting for surival.

I'd like this to be fun, as I believe it can be, with each writer filling a role within the larger group - a painboy, perhaps a heavy weapon/burna boy, the choppy one etc - who can be from different klanz etc.

Remembering you can only carry a limited amount, what sort of toxins etc would you like?

I dunno. I'm playing a snakbite. And they always like having access to poisonous creatures and whatnot. So whatever might be considered sensible, I can honestly say i haven't made a character like this before.

Maybe a venemous snake for a pet? Or something similar.

Anything else: An oddity among ork burna boys. He has an obsession with creating the perfect skorcha fuel that will cook any piece of meat perfectly when subjected to its inferno.

He also possesses a cigarette case that never seems to run out of cigarettes. No matter how many times he opens it there's always exactly 3 cigarettes inside. Unfortunately, his lighter does run out of fuel and he constantly scavenges for new lighters, some of which he keeps in his collection after they run out of fluid.

@Ollumhammersong If you wish to have a snake, or even a squig, then that'd be absolutely fine! I'll give you a choice of various balms and venoms to slather on things - of your own choosing - and maybe some little insects and such?

If either of you know anyone who may be interested in this, spread the word!

my own little squiggly pet... I might just do that. As for the insects, that's already what the buzzbomb basically is. I don't want to go too overboard with stuff. But a softball sized squig or two that he can throw at an enemy's face might be funny.

So I've been watching videos and scouring the wikis to get more of a sense of Warhammer 40k, but one thing I still don't understand is the Warp. I know it's not totally relevant to the RP, but I thought no harm in asking anyway. So far, I know is used to travel far distances between space, but what is a Warp Storm? Can the Warp just appear and spit out demons if there's a whole load of negative energy gathered in one place?

@Torack Right, so the warp is a dimension parallel too, and fueled by our dimension (aka realspace). It's a realm fed by psykic power, emotion and the strength of souls both living and dead. It is in fact also called 'the Sea of souls', And honestly it helps to picture the warp as an ocean. The Astronomicon functions almost exactly like a lighthouse and ships 'sail' through the warp with the aid of special navigators who can read the these ethereal and sinister 'winds and waves'

A warp storm is basically a dangerously high amount of psykic energy converging within a relatively small area. These storms typically only happen in the Immaterial realm but can sometimes be so violent they tear a temporary whole into realspace. Such a tear can allow daemons to pass through into the mortal realm and even sustain themselves (Daemons can't simply stroll into realspace and stay there permanently. without a source of regular power or a mortal host they will wither and fade back into the warp realm.) as long as they maintain proximity to the storm. However the vast majority of warp storms are only temporary and will fade, and daemons that were using that storm as a well of power to remain in realspace will typically disappear along with the tear.

Again, think of a warpstorm as a sea storm. Because that is the metaphor GW themselves often use. Warpstorms are violent, they can destroy ships caught in them, blow them way of course. They are so dangerous that it's near impossible for navigators to plot a way through them, or for the ship to fight the proverbial waves. Just as it would be similarly dangerous for a modern fishing boat to try and sail through a hurricane. Generally speaking, it will end poorly.
