DRAKKENHEIM IS NO MORE. An eldritch storm
of falling stars devastated the city on that woeful eve,
leaving behind a meteorite that would have lasting
effects. Fifteen years later, Drakkenheim is a dismal
urban wasteland contaminated by otherworldly magic and
haunted by hideous monsters. Fantastic wealth, lost knowledge,
and powerful artifacts lie ready for the taking by adventurers
brave or foolish enough to venture into the ruins. However, even
those who survive the dangers of Drakkenheim may not return
unmarked by its terrors!

The Dungeons of Drakkenheim is a 5e module set in the city of Drakkenheim. It is a dark fantasy setting with a bit of horror character survival isn't guaranteed given the monsters you will face along with a new contamination mechanic that can leave your character mutated for better or worse. If this sounds interesting I'd like to give it a play through.

What level of character are we talking, and how light/dark do you want characters to be?

@RBYDark the module has openings for level 1 or level 3 characters so depending on our players we can do either. As for light/dark I'll leave that up to the group, it's a very open ended campaign with the ability to fill in a lot of different character types. But again this will be a group decision as I don't want a lawful good pally vs the chaotic evil wizard of the group. Every character will have a reason to be in Drakkenheim and their personal goals may not align but I don't want constant fighting between the group over a good vs evil character.

@Neianna86

I'm thinking about dusting off the CS for a celestial warlock I made a while back.

Also down to clown. Looking at sorcerer (shadow magic), bard (college of swords), or fighter (archer/close quarters shooter) mostly, but if we end up missing any category, I'll fill it.

Edit: Looks like we may need a fighter, so I'll focus on that. Maybe Close-quarters, assuming the bard is support/ranged since most warlocks I know of are ranged.

What materials are we allowed to use? Just base rulebook or can we use other stuff?

Oohh, I've watched a few episodes of the Dungeon Dudes playing Drakkenheim (but not enough to be spoiled on things, dw) so would love to join in if there's still room. Most likely as a Bard of some sort, depending on what sources are allowed.

@Skwint I'll allow all officially published stuff, as well as the bloodhunter.

@Vertigo see that's the great part of it though, they made this so sandbox and open ended that what they did in the live steam wo t happen unless you specifically make all the same decisions they did. As well as a bunch of new stuff the didn't have in the original steam

I think, if everyone sticks around, that gives us five players. So far, I'm hearing (besides me) bard, celestial warlock, gloomstalker ranger.

I've got to ask, though, what roles are you guys looking at? Y'know: melee damage, ranged damage, skill monkey, support (including healing), tank, those roles.

Obviously, some overlap is fine, I guess I just want to get a feel for how people are shaping characters? I usually play skill monkey or support myself, but I might go for ranged/melee damage, or instead focus on tanking.

@RBYDarkI'll focus on a scouting range type. Stealth/Perception wise, basically your friendly sneaky scouting lurker in the smallest of alleyways, hopefully helping us avoid walking into hordes of monsters and get the drop on them.

Skill monkey, battlefield control/support, talker type. I'd prefer not to focus too much on healing, but can provide it in a pinch. Was originally thinking of being on the sneaky side, but will leave that to our Gloomstalker friend!

I believe my warlock could best be described as a utility caster/skill monkey with a dash of healer.

@Vertigo I'm not too worried about healing, as long as we pick our battles wisely.

Alright, looking at a tank/melee for certain then. Someone's gotta keep the bastards off you while you line up a shot ;p Just gotta figure out a concept.
