In Character Info:
She: A genetically-engineered soldier; the previous dictator trusted her and her siblings, other genetically engineered warriors, as a praetorian guard. His son, however, is insanely paranoid and distrusted his father's most dangerous guards. She's the last of her kind -- the rest were eliminated. She's been left to rot in the dictator's favorite prison, the assumption being that other inmates will kill her. It's a zero sum game -- if the inmates don't kill her, the guards will eventually just gun her down.

He: A brilliant engineer and scientist, imprisoned after he was caught working for the enemies of the dictator; he is too good at his job to kill, so they've been working on ways to make him 'loyal.' But their patience for 'soft' methods has run out and so has his time -- he needs to get out now or die trying, using the one chance he has to get out.

Scorpius Beta, a moon of Scorpius, is an outpost of the Unified Planets and was President Kalyan Filipek's favorite prison; a harsh facility whose very name is a threat to those who consider opposition to the regime -- an Orwellian hellhole where the inmates are only occasionally seen from again, broken and servile to the regime in body, mind and soul; they go in defiant and come out mouthing the platitudes of the regime, as good as any state run broadcast. Entire star systems are kept in line from the omnipresent fear of being caught and being shoved into that hellhole. And if they don't fear for themselves, they fear for their loved ones suffering the same fate for being related to a traitor. The rules were understood -- what was and was not acceptable. Kalyan Filipek was interested in political stability.

The fear of the place meant that few wanted to try the President's wrath. The problem is that Kalyan Filipek is dead and his son Bojan rules...and Bojan is not merely a tyrant, he's an insanely paranoid one. Scorpius Beta, formerly a thinly populated place, now is in danger of bursting apart at the seems, with too many inmates and too few guards. It was only meant to hold the special cases, but every time Bojan Filipek has a momentary scare, people are being stuffed into Scorpius Beta.

Meanwhile, two people know that their time is limited; they have to make a break, somehow, some way. It'll strain their combined resources to the limit, but they have no other choice if they want to live as something besides broken remanants of human beings...

Out of Character Info:
It's a futuristic prison-breaker with high sci-fi technology -- faster than light transportation, personal shields and so forth. The characters have to figure their way out of a prison, starting with some sort of overpopulation-related problems.

I've left the exact nature of the prison, whether it's a space station, a compound on the moon of Scorpius Beta, or if it's the entire planet and there's a base where the guards deliver food and necessary supplies from. In the same vein, the female character is left undeveloped by intention -- I don't believe in constraining the player beyond providing the very basic framework of the plot and I'm curious what develops out of the whole thing.

Depending on the setting we choose, I have a few ideas for hooks on how they get out; namely, alien tech of some sort.

I sort of want to keep the plot centered around the breakout, as I'm not sure what to do after a breakout. It seems more fun to sort of keep the action within a few weeks of actual events.
