Current Sorry for the delay everyone. I've been absolutely swamped with work these last weeks. I'm getting my replies up slowly.

Keeping track of things makes it easier to avoid bad experiences! And to not make the same mistake like an idiot... :-/

Bio

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and accend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

@LadyRunic

Mikhail was tired. Days sleeping poorly were starting to affect his personality, making it even more unstable than it normally was. Luckily for the barkeep, Mikhail still had enough patience to overlook the fact that he continued to snarl at him. Looking at the barkeep as he stretched his wings, Mikhail simply hardened his stare. The barkeep surely knew what Mikhail's stare meant.

As he finally stood down, answering his questions, Mikhail slowly nodded, still with the same piercing stare towards the barkeep.

"Your advice is appreciated, so is you answering my questions despite the unnecessary hostility and growling." Mikhail said, sighing deeply as he slowly massaged his temples, trying to calm himself down and ward off the headache.

"As I said to you, I do not want any type of problems. This holds true not only for you, but for the Black Widow as well." Mikhail said, finishing drinking and eating what he had ordered, followed by a long silence.

Before Mikhail stood up and walked away though, he turned to the barkeep once more, with the same smile he had before all that trouble started, but this time, if one looked at him with enough attention, it was obvious that he was forcing it.

"I recommend you to not be so openly hostile with strangers, much less with your own clients. Not everyone wants to do you or your daughter bad. Sometimes, it's exactly this growling and needlessly hostile attitude that makes them starting to want to do so." Mikhail said.

"I'm sorry for everything." Mikhail said, more to the other costumers and the barkeep's daughter than the barkeep himself before he walked away.

After walking for a brief while, he finally found a discreet inn. Not very big neither flashy, it seemed to be one of the inns that workers used to sleep between jobs. It was one of the most common types, certainly something that wouldn't draw any attention... Exactly what Mikhail wanted.

Entering the small inn without saying a word, he simply nodded to the attendant, putting a few coins over the counter and going to the room which was assigned to him. Entering the room, the first thing Mikhail did was to make a thorough search around it for anything suspicious. Every single inch of the small room was searched, nothing was left untouched. Only after he was absolutely sure it was safe, including putting the wire traps he always put when he was about to sleep to avoid intruders, he sat down on the bed, letting out a long, exhausted sigh. The room was indeed small, having only a single bed and a small wooden nightstand. Only the strictly necessary for one to pass the night.

For many, the end of the day was met with relief as it was the moment for them to rest and prepare themselves for another day. For Mikhail though, it was merely another thing he had to mentally prepare himself for.

"No rest for the wicked..." he muttered to himself, an old saying he heard someone saying on his travels around the lands. He couldn't remember at certain where or who he heard that from, but it was ironically fitting for his situation.

Even though he knew what it was coming, he knew he had to face it. Mikhail had no other choice but to endure the nightmares and fragmented memories, while trying to rest as much as he could. Both mentally and physically.
Bast Ragoczy

It was only after a few moments that Bast noticed how tired Eilidh looked. Almost instantly, he stopped talking, looking at her with a confused and slightly worried expression. As she explained to him she wasn't able to sleep, Bast nodded quietly. He could understand to a certain point. After all, a lot of things happened the previous day.

Despite Eilidh's tired expression though, he let out a smile and nodded after she agreed with him regarding Varjo. More than anyone else, Bast was accustomed with political tension & etc. But Varjo was on another level. They are extremely dangerous and radical on everything they do. From their war strategies to their very own town and how it works.

"I am really glad you understood me." Bast said with a smile.

Even though Bast was glad she understood his reasons and his warning, he had mixed feelings about her accompanying him in that particular request. He didn't know what would happen, but he would have to hold himself down a bit if she was around. After all, that whole request was basically him double crossing, working for two enemies behind their back, playing with them...

Arriving in Ambran they went to a very familiar place for Bast. The watchtower, the same place he met Lady Natasha, the very woman who had contracted the guild asking to destroy one of the Barensia's most beautiful wagon. Their client arrived shortly after, in a similar manner to Bast's previous one. Unlike her though, she wasn't as polite as to invite them inside the wagon to discuss the job. Again, much like Lady Natasha Archaean, her rival, Lady Natalia Barensia had an adorable appearance, but a terrible personality... and a rather foul mouth.

Bast simply watched with a smirk and an amused expression as the clearly irritated noblewoman explained their job in a flurry of words, including some very unladylike expressions.

"Hoo~ I wonder if all noblewomen from Ambran are so... barbaric or have equally terrible personalities..." Bast said after the woman left, without even giving them a chance to speak or ask questions.

"Lady Natasha Archean was the very woman who posted the request to burn the Barensia family's wagon. The very wagon the annoying, foul mouthed little woman was just raging over. Something regarding the Barensia family being repressing the Archean family for years. Needless to say, both woman have rather.... unpleasant personalities. Although I do need to point out that Lady Natasha was better than Lady Natalia. Despite cold, she was much more professional." Bast finished, making sure he was speaking low enough so only Elidh was hearing.

"Now that you know a bit about the current situation, who do you want to side with? We will get paid regardless of our choice, so..." Bast said, shrugging.

"Letting both families tear each other to shreds is also an option... I doubt either of them will open themselves to strangers. Well... at least I know the Barensia wont, as I already met both wife and husband." Bast finished, looking to Eilidh.

Freyr

The second Nagare approached Freyr, he couldn't help but think about the question she made yesterday. While he wasn't able to answer it due to being too late, he spent a lot of time thinking about it before sleeping.

"Viera who have abandoned the woods are Viera no longer. Those words lingered on Freyr's mind.

It was only after a while, looking at Nagare with a distant stare that Freyr realized her presence and that she had asked him a question.

"I'm sorry. I was just thinking about our talk from yesterday." Freyr said, with an awkward smile.

"The Varjans... They are... dangerous. Ruthless, merciless and bloodthirsty, they will do anything to get what they want. And most often than not, their goal includes blood. Not the type of people I would like to mess with..." Freyr said, with a dark expression.

"They have no respect for the nature or life itself. Their lands are soaked with the crimson blood of their allies and foes alike." Freyr finished, sighing. Talking about the Varjans always reminded Freyr how cruel the humans could be.

"It will be dangerous, but if you wish to accompany me I would be grateful. If... If things go wrong it will be nice to have someone with me." Freyr continued.

"Regarding your unanswered question from yesterday... Yes, in the eyes of my kin, I am no longer a Viera. I may still be able to hear the voice of the woods, the very woods may still long for it's son's return, but my presence is no longer accepted by my own kin." Freyr completed.

After a long silence, an enthusiastic voice interrupted them. It was Yang Bethlehem, punching a hole through the request as she announced she wanted to go to that one. Bast couldn't help but smile at that.

Bowing her head in a rather polite way, that reminded Freyr of that shady Bast fellow, only a lot more... honest, Yang said she would be under their care, calling Freyr 'Madam Freyr'. Looking at her with a rather confused expression, he tilted his head, his ears twitching a bit as he tried to understand what she had just said.

Even though a Viera's constitution was taller, leaner and rather elegant for both females and males, it was still somewhat hard to confound a female Viera with a male one. Vieras had a much more smoother and more delicate voice. Even though, for humans, confounding a male and a female's voice wasn't impossible, it was still different. A male Viera's voice sounded like the sound of leaves rustling through the wind while a female's voice was more delicate and melodious. Other than that, the males had more defined muscles and slightly longer claws.

"Oh, uh... Thank you. I will be under your care as well. Even though I'm a male." Freyr said with a really awkward smile.

"We... We should be careful though. Varjo isn't a place were it would be wise for us to walk leisurely." Freyr said, looking to both Nagare and Yang, trying to make the atmosphere a bit less awkward.

Finally arriving on the road where the caravan would pass through, the group hid themselves behind a small hill, waiting for the right moment. A brief moment after they did so, a large caravan consisting of two prison wagons and a good number of soldiers, some of them on horseback and some of them being normal footmen began to cross the path. Between those who were riding horses, two were obviously higher ranked than the rest, being one a high knight and the other, a warrior wearing a strange, menacing red suit of armor.

While outnumbered, they still had the element of surprise. The two higher ranked warriors and the other knights could prove to be a problem, but the rest were simple soldiers. They would need to be smart and engage them carefully.

"We need to be careful now. They greatly outnumber us, but a lot of them are mere soldiers. Between them, the only two we need to be especially wary of are the two armored ones." Freyr whispered to both Nagare and Yang.

"We have advantage on this terrain. Stealth isn't an option though, since we are in an open area. We have the element of surprise but there aren't that many places to hide once we show ourselves. So we have to use this advantage very well. A hard first strike to lessen the numbers to make the ongoing fight at least manageable." Freyr explained.

"My arrows can easily pierce the other knights armors, but I doubt I will be able to do anything at this distance to the two heavy armored knights, both the red one and the high ranking knight." he finished, looking to the group. They still had a few minutes before the caravan passed in front of them, but they needed to discuss the strategy right now.

Nina

@Hekazu

While both Nina and Croaks patiently waited for the biker to wake up, small talk was unavoidable. She couldn't help but laugh at Croaks mention about how her birthday was going. It has been a weird day indeed, but nothing Nina wasn't somewhat accustomed. Croaks also mentioned that he didn't commemorate his birthday. In fact, not many did... other than the big figures from megacorps who didn't need to worry about hiding their past or earning money to pay their life expenses. But since Nina was... somewhere between both worlds, she liked to at least remember and do a little something for herself on her birthday.

"As weird as it sounds, I'm already accustomed with these things." Nina said, with a giggle.

"You may think of me as a weird girl and even wonder how I'm alive till now by acting the way I do. Thing is, as someone who works with information, I pretty much need to take advantage of my inoffensive look and stick my nose in many... dangerous... places. It became somewhat of a habit to use every bit of advantage I can get... That includes being a guest of two heads of a certain gang..." Nina said, laughing.

"Just don't worry too much about me. I'm not as fragile or oblivious as I look. Oh, don't worry, I'm not offended if you thought that about me. It's exactly what I'm looking for when making business." Nina finished, with a mischievous expression, putting a finger over her mouth almost as if she was telling him a secret of her trade.

Just as Croaks was about to ask if she wanted a drink, the biker woke up with a groan of pain and breathing heavily. It seemed that the woman with the helmet gave him quite a trashing before she fled. It shouldn't be too hard to make him speak, seeing the state he already was.

Nina quietly watched as Croaks gave a step into the biker's direction, rapping his fingers on his gun's body. After Croaks threatened the guy, it became quite obvious when he started to stare to the door. Before the biker could do anything though, Croaks already moved himself to block any possible escape path, once again reiterating that the biker had no options beside speaking.

After Croaks finished talking and walked back, Nina went forward to ask what she wanted to the biker, which seemed to greatly calm down the biker.

"You heard him. There's no need for anyone to get hurt, right? I only want to ask a few questions..." Nina said, with a neutral expression.

"More specifically, questions about the one who well... left you in such a sorry state... I don't think you would disagree in making her life a bit more difficult, would you?" Nina asked, with a smirk.

"What's in for me?" the biker asked, looking back and forth from Nina to Croaks.

Nina blinked a few times, looking to the biker's face and trying to understand what he said. His raspy voice made it very difficult to understand, Nina only caught the first words he said.

"What...?" Nina asked, raising her eyebrows.

"WHAT'S. IN. FOR. ME?" the man asked, speaking louder. It was understandable now, albeit barely.

"Your life... your safety... your freedom... the choice is yours. Well... even if I say so... you don't have many choices you know?" Nina said, rolling her eyes as she waited for his answer. That man really didn't know how to read the situation...

"Scarlett. Reaper. Looking for Davison. Wants revenge. Works for big organization." The biker said, snarling still with the same hostile look despite the situation he was in.

Not only his voice, but the way he spoke also made it very, very hard to understand what he was saying. It was only with a lot of effort and concentration that Nina was able to put some sense in the chopped words he said.

The woman was called Scarlett, she was a reaper and the motive she was looking for Davison was for revenge. But that wasn't much. Revenge for what? It was Davison who did something to her or she was looking for him to get to the one she wanted? Who was she working for? And who was that guy who was speaking with Scarlett on the bar? Whatever he said to her seemed to be really important to make her run off like that.

"This does not help at all..." Nina said with a long sigh, shaking her head. What luck... The man she captured was just a thug and to make things even worse, couldn't even speak properly. The information the man gave her was basically nothing. A name was useless in a place such as the combat zones... The motive could potentially be of some use if Nina was able to find Scarlett...

"Who is she working for? Who was the man talking with her inside the bar?" Nina asked, looking to the biker with a serious stare and speaking with a firm tone.

"Speak clearly this time. Trying to decipher your growling is really counter productive..." Nina said, with a thoughtful expression.

If that man really didn't knew much, she was back to the beginning. Whoever that woman was, Nina had a feeling that she was worth investigating.

But unfortunately, it seemed like Nina struck a nerve when she mentioned the biker's voice as it became clear when he spat on her face, letting out a flurry of words, almost impossible to understand.

Wiping the spit off her face with a disgusted expression, Nina looked to the man with piercing eyes. He really didn't know the situation he was in...

In the blink of an eye, Nina spun around herself in a low kick, hitting both of the man's legs, making a loud and very unpleasant snapping noise echo through the room, shattering the man's knees and making him fall to the ground, groaning in pain.

"Sorry Croaks, I don't think being the good girl will work..." she said, looking back to Croaks.

"Answer. My. Questions." Nina said, looking to the man, now really threatening him.

Mikhail couldn't help but let out a frown after the barkeep walked forward, interrupting him in an extremely rude manner, speaking in an even more hostile one. Obviously confused, Mikhail simply stared at the man's face for a brief while with the same smile he had when he was looking to his daughter. Deep down inside, Mikhail was trying his hardest to remain calm. The constant nightmares were making it even harder to keep his other side in check. Not only that, but the fragmented memories and the strange feelings these fragments brought with them cut his mind like thousands of daggers. He needed to meet that Black Widow as soon as possible...

"I'm sorry but I-" Mikhail opened his mouth, with the same smile he had before as he grabbed a few coins, but was, once again, rudely interrupted by the barkeep's growls as he asked if he was going to pay, practically throwing the tankard and the sandwich on the counter in front of Mikhail.

Almost immediately after he did that, any semblance of smile on Mikhail's expression disappeared as he slowly opened his hands, letting the coins fall on the counter with an audible sound, one after another as he looked deep inside the barkeep's eyes.

"I do not want problems, I am merely a costumer looking for a person in particular. I came here solely to contact the Black Widow from the rumors." Mikhail said, with a cold, piercing stare and a threatening tone.

"I have absolutely no interest in those who have nothing to do with my work. You and your daughter included." he continued.

"I will ask once more and this time I expect an answer..." Mikhail said, leaning closer to the barkeep.

"Where can I find the black widow?" he slowly asked, almost whispering to the barkeep.

"I suggest you to answer my question carefully. I am not in a good mood." Mikhail finished, still looking to the barkeeps eyes as he waited for his answer.
So many choices!! Taking Varjo related quests with Bast can take him closer to Joshua and the queen, which would be an interesting development, but at the same time, It would be really interesting if Bast, the one who was responsible for destroying the carriage, appeared again to take a request from the opposite family he took a job before lol
Bast Ragoczy

The gardens of Eros, especially at night were simply breathtaking. Away from all the smells an noises of the town, the gardens had a different, tranquil charm to them. The smell of the flowers, gently carried by the night's cool breeze, the moonlight illuminating the garden before them with it's silvery light, giving it an almost ethereal beauty.

Bast couldn't help but to smile when she saw Eilidh, a proud centaur warrior, react like a maiden. Enjoying only each other's company both of them had a lot of time to enjoy the night together.

When they arrived at the guild, it was already very late and pretty much everyone was already asleep.

"Good night, my dear. I was glad I could see another side of you I haven't seen before. You were simply adorable." Bast said, laughing as he gently kissed Eilidh's hand, before they went to sleep.

The sun rose and a new day began. Things were as rowdy as always on the guild hall, as the members met each other to have breakfast and look at the new requests posted at the board. Unlike the other days though, Bartholomew had an announcement to make. According to him, the guild was passing through difficult times regarding money. Thanks to the big hole on the wall, they needed an extra amount of cash to fix it and the last requests earned them almost no money.

Some other members suggested that they maybe would need to start taking requests from Varjo, even though Bartholomew said to not draw too much attention from those people.

"Oh, good morning, my dear Eilidh? How was your night? Have you dreamed with our little walk last night?" Bast asked, laughing as he saw Eilidh approaching the request board.

Approaching the board himself to take a look at it, Bast analyzed the two Varjo related requests to see which one would draw less attention. The probable answer was the second one, since it seemed to be merely a request to rescue some prisoners and it wouldn't take them near Varjans. The possibility of entering in direct combat with Varjans was very little.

"I don't know if anyone is taking the Varjo requests, but if anyone does, I recommend being careful. Especially about the liberation one... It may be too soon for us to enter in direct combat with Varjo..." Bast said, looking to all the members gathering around the request board.

"Eilidh, my dear. If you're planning to take a Varjo related quest, I ask you not to. Varjo is not a safe place and even it's rulers are as bad as the rumors say they are... It's certainly not the time for us to openly announce our hostility to Varjo. We need information first." Bast said with a dark expression as he said the last part, almost as if he was saying that by experience.

"Please, Eilidh. It's not that I don't trust your skills. I just want you to be safe." Bast said, with a serious stare towards her.

"I'm taking the Alike in Dignity quest. It should be a rather... interesting one." Bast said, taking the request from the board as she walked towards it.

Freyr

Freyr was surprised when he heard Nagare asking him to tell her more about the Viera. Just as she said, people knew little about the Viera as it was incredibly rare to see one outside of the feared and dangerous Vieran Woods. Freyr couldn't say he wasn't happy to hear that. Knowing more about other races and their cultures would definitely help to understand them better and to not fear or hate them due to misinformation.

"The Viera are surrounded by mysticism, rumors and myths due to how... reclusive we are. Not only that but the Vieran Woods are an incredibly dangerous place. Due to this, there are a lot of stories about us being told, which are mostly mere myths or half-truths. I'm really glad you are interested in knowing more about the Viera." Freyr said, smiling to Nagare as he started to explain.

"We Viera have a saying, a rule we must always follow: 'Viera who have abandoned the Wood are Viera no longer. Viera mus always live with the wood' Thus the reason why seeing vieras is something so rare. Only the rare few who were exiled or choose to get out of the forest by their own will are seen outside." Freyr continued.

"The 'cities' we live within the Vieran Woods are behind hidden passages which are hidden by illusion spells and barriers created by Viera with an exceptional affinity with natural magic, called Spell Weavers. Only the Viera are able to tap within the threads of magic that run through the forest in order to pass through these barriers. That's another reason why it's so rare to even take a glimpse at their cities. You need to know a Viera to enter their cities." Freyr said, with a smile and a distant expression as he remembered his childhood.

"The Viera people have incredibly enhanced senses. Not only their hearing, but also how to 'feel' magic and 'hear' the voice of the wood, going as far as having a real connection with the natural world. When the forest we live in becomes corrupted, weak or is in some kind of danger, we feel it ourselves. Another reason why we Viera must always live within the woods is that not only the loud noises from cities outside, that harms our ears, but also the magic. When Viera are exposed to a high concentration of 'unnatural' magic, such as spells & etc. we enter in a trance, a state where we cannot control ourselves nor think straight. Vieras become incredibly dangerous when in this state, being able to tear metal shackles with our bare hands and kill humans with our bare hands with ease... The reason why we aren't constantly in this frenzied state when inside the forest is that the magic that runs within the forest is... different... It's much stronger and concentrated, but at the same time, much more delicate and subtle than the magic outside. It's... hard to explain. Only those who were already within the Vieran Woods and felt the magic there know." Freyr continued, gladly explaining to Nagare everything that he knew about his people.

"Regarding our culture... You would be surprised if you went to the Vieran villages, deep within the woods. While there are many things here we don't have there, the opposite is the same. Even our daily lives are replete with magic. Our connection with the forest goes beyond that of a mere druid. It is something almost spiritual, as our elders usually say. Other than that, most of the Viera are female. Only a mere 20% are males, making male Vieras really spoiled by their mothers when they're small, but as soon as they learn how to take care of themselves, they're sent to another village, as male and female Viera live in separate villages. The relationship between male and female Viera isn't exactly that friendly though as the males are secretive and competitive for food and space, even with our own species" Freyr continued. At that point, it became really obvious that he was happy about remembering the Vieran Woods and was exceeding himself a bit on his explanation.

It was only when they were in front of the guild that Freyr realized that he had exceeded himself in the explanation.

"I-I'm so sorry..." Freyr said, looking down obviously embarrassed.

"It's been so long since someone asked me about the Viera and so long since I remembered the Vieran Woods that I ended up talking a little bit too much..." he said, laughing.

"I'm sorry for taking so much your time... It's already late so I'm sure you are tired." Freyr said to Nagare, Ditzy and Haley.

"If you have any other questions, please do tell me tomorrow. I would gladly answer them." Freyr said, with a warm smile to Nagare before he went to his room.

The next day started with worrisome news. The guild was in dire situation regarding money. They money reserves were low and they didn't receive that much with the previous requests. On top of that, they needed the money to fix the giant hole in the wall.

Haley mentioned they might need to start taking Varjo related quests even if Bartholomew didn't like it. Although, Bart wasn't the only one who thought that would be a bad idea.

"I... Varjans are not to be taken lightly... I don't believe we should mess with them unless we are fully prepared for war." Freyr said, with a serious tone.

"If it's really necessary for us to take them though, I can take one. Since I'm a hunter, I should be able to pass by unnoticed, be it in the Liberation request or the Great Escape one... Although I do think it would be better to avoid direct confrontation with Varjans for now..." Freyr continued, explicating that if he had to take a Varjo related request, he would take the Great Escape one.

@Terminal

Thanks for the information, especially the part about Lt. Davison and the laser disk somewhere in the combat zones with the hardware spider.

@Hekazu

Imo, since we're dealing with a lot of information, we should pin things like those that Terminal just said somewhere.
