THE MORE AWESOMEST POTATO:

Let me properly introduce myself. I am Sir Spud the Fourth, and I have been a potato for the longest time ever. I never denied it to be completely honest, but it is only recently that I embraced it. Now I have evolved from a simple couch potato to a fully grown royal potato. A dapper kawaii potato. And I dare say, knowing that you are a spud, makes life a lot easier. Just chill and let everyone else care about all their meaningless things because at the end of the day you'll know: chilling is the way to go.

I try to spend minimal effort on things that I don't care about, and procrastination might as well be my middle name. But that doesn't mean I ONLY rest. Sometimes a 'tato gotta do what a 'tato gotta do. And if that something happens to be things I like, then you cannot find anyone better than me. I am an omnipotent being capable of virtually any task to a limited degree, and I am not shy to admit it. I may not be the MOST AWESOMEST in a thing, but I am sure as hell MORE AWESOMEST than most people are at everything. But hey, I'm not here to brag, even if I am probabaly better at it than you

THE DREAMER:

All those nights laying in my couch, I thought about the cool shit that I cannot do. That I cannot see. But I pictured them in front of myself like they were real, and that infuraited me. Then I found the Guild, and I lived happily after. I have been on the site for 2 years now, and I have seen many RPs, and played with many people. I wish I have found the site earlier, but I am glad that I've even found it. Now all those fantasies can be written down and my mind can rest at ease at night, without being constantly troubled by ideas.

When I RP, I love myself some good Sci-Fi or Fantasy. But hey I am filthy casual, I can go for anything with an interesting setting. I don't trouble myself on small details if the plot is good, but if you get somwthing wrong you can expect me to tell you about it. Some even go as far as to think that I am angry or something, but I am too chill for that. If anything I'm more of the funny type, so you can expect me to try and write some shitty jokes or post memes I found on the internet. Anyways, you'll see what I mean when we RP together.

THE ARTIST:

Used to be something else here, but I'm happy to say that it's replaced because of a positive change. I now work as a full-time 3D artist in the animation industry, churning out shot after shot for some of your favorite game intros and trailers. Can't say anything about them before you even ask, and even though I'm still new to the industry I love it and I already know that this will be my passion for a long time. So hopefully in a few years I'll have a proud portfolio of animations that were done by yours truly that I can show off to all the lovely people of the guild.

THE LOVER OF STUFF:

Now I may have hobbies like the above mentioned, but there are some more things that I love in life. Here is a handy list of things you can always talk about with me:

  • Gaming: This one I am quite proud of, I'm a serious gamer with capital G. Not as much time for it nowadays, but still true.
  • Music: All kinds of electronic music, but I am a sucker for Queen and Powerwolf. Or Breakbot... anything music.
  • Anime: We all have an Otaku in us, but it's bigger for some people. For me it's just big enough.

WORDS OF WISDOM:

Be chill folks, getting fed up about stuff is a recipe for disaster. You gotta learn to be patient and let things go, or you'll end up a wrinkly old man/woman with only bad memories about life. Even if you do fuck-all every day, you can live a content life by taking things easy. With that said, as always, stay safe and stay classy.

@Odin Well... the lesbian rain elves spent several days making all of these trips, as said in their post. And yes, I assume that hunters who live in the wild have a sense of direction that can get them back to camp. I think we can generally establish that every race here might be lacking knowledge, but not stupid: they are on the same intelligence level as mdern humans, give or take a bit depending on the race. They might not have any of the knowledge, but they are intelligent enough to come up with things and memorize them. Otherwise we'd have to go through the phases of them getting to that IQ level be repeatedly smashing rocks against other rocks to level up their intelligence to 100

As for trade, that was exactly the same for early humans. So yeah, long distance travel pays you more because of luxury resources and elaborate craftsmanships, and otherwise it's mostly villages going to cities within the same nation. Trade on a larger scale is only going to be possible with horses or ships, but yet again, ships were really the thing that enabled global commerce to develop and were the primary source of foreign goods up until the late 19th century when trains became widespread enough to maintain profitable trading routes. Still, just think of the silk road and how long it was, and the fact that some of the traders on that route became filthy rich.

But yes, I do like that idea for the language, makes it far easier to distinguish between different languages. But please, I do want you to keep saying "wuush wuush" XD
@Ascendant Magic will be it's very own thing, completely detached from what we have right here! It will have it's own little tech tree thingy, that really isn't all that much a tech tree XD

Once magic happens (soontm, I want everyone to at least get the ability to form a crude language) then you will have the option to do many things. One such option is the ability to acquire telepathy, or similar abilities as results of magical anomalies or research. And in your case, probably just get them because it reminds me a lot of a race I made a year or two ago and really liked. I won't hide my bias
@Ascendant Mostly left to right, I tried to organize them in a way that they were discovered irl. I advise you follow it, since a lot of the alter techs are basically useless/inefficient if you don't have the earlier techs. For example, agriculture must be nice if you're still sleeping outside and have no tools to harvest them. You get the point.
@Caelum I like it ^^

If I can add any suggestions then it would be to add exactly what you decided to skip: social interactions. Especially now that they have split up, it would be interesting to see how they percieve the world around them and perhaps come to different conclusions.

Also, rope? When did they find THAT

I guess making ropes and huts is easier for every race here than coming up with a basket... savages. *quietly sips tea*

I'll send you the updated map in a bit!

@Odin I just assumed you were on the northern edge with the trees from which it's a walkable distance if you are very determined to get some pet turtles. But otherwise? Yeah...probably not very realistic. And keep in mind that I already told you guys to count all teh distances at half compared to the ruler (200 pixels is 60 miles if you want to get into it). It's a big map man, and I still went for only a smaller part of the world. This is exactly why I never feel like making maps for NRPs where supposedly the whole world is on one map, and every pixels is like a thousand kilometers or so

@Crusader Lord I agree. If you get Corgis then you are the true winner, and nobody can take that away from you. Not even man-eating plant people that you will totally not face. Never. Pinky promise.

Edit: Heck, that was a great post haha. I really enjoyed that one, you get kudos for it. That's pretty much what I was expecting/hoping for. Of course, let's not forget about Tal and Odin who bravely paved the way for the second turn haha :D

Well, if this is how you interpret us being able to shape the topography, as you said:

<Snipped quote>

then I will go with that, but if that is the case it really would make sense that we could see as far as possible unless the terrain goes up, because it doesn't make sense that I can only see in a circle around me and anything further than that is somehow a mystery, when in real life I can look across a flat field and determine, hey, 20km further it's still flat field and I didn't see a mountain between me and the flat field 20km further, so it's reasonable to assume that the terrain maintains a flat field. :/

Obviously, I don't require everybody to be doing pixel measurments like myself, but I gave you about a 60 kilometer vision bubble when I drew the vision for you. ALL of you guys have an initial circle drawn that is 250 kilometers across. So the map is accurate for visions, heck, even generous with forest and starting vision. There's no way your people could see further than that unless ther eyes could see around the curviture of the horizon

<Snipped quote by 6slyboy6>

I meant for that to be your call, obviously, as it was much more him just bribing the animal with meat, and whether that will count towards the wolf being less of an asshole or not is up to you.

Wolves are pack animals. If you intend on feeding them until they become adorable corgis who sit in your lap, then you'll need a lot of meat XD
Hehe, tbh I liked the old art too, gave off a nice theme imo, but I like this cleaner version too!

@Odin I think I already told you most of my thoughts over on Discord, but here they are again:
- Great post as usual, but fuck Egein. Don't be surprised if the wolf eats him.
- I appreciate the extra effort in the actions section, but please refrain from modifying the maps where you can't see them. First, that's just bad manners against the poor map generator, and second because it will avoid surprises like a sudden hill or river or something familiar appearing on what you assume is flat terrain or hills. Let's just go by the flat earther principle and blame not being able to see down the beach any further on electromagnetism and water vapour lol
- I like wolves, they are cool. But you just focus on the story and lore, and I'll deide if throwing meat at a feral animal counts as beginning of their taming XD
- And stop slacking with language, you won't fool anyone with "Mei go" when you came up with such classics as "wuush wuush"

Now that that is out of the way... I'd like to present the very crude form of the tech tree. I got into some troubles when I was making the even fancier one with tokens and pictures, so you'll have to do with this one for now X3

You may notice that I did not include the things you already have. If you have any other ideas for techs, want something added, removed or joined together for simplicity, then feel free to say. Just like everything, this is very much a WIP too. Who thought an all encompassing NRP about civilizations growing would be so complicated haha
