House Information
Synopsis
House Targaryen, and its various royal branches, is a noble family of Valyrian descent who rules the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The Targaryen sigil is a three-headed dragon breathing flames, red on black. The house words are "Fire and Blood". It is regarded as the first royal house of the Seven Kingdoms, as House Targaryen of King's Landing. Aside from the nineteen years of time following Robert's Rebellion, House Targaryen has ruled the Seven Kingdoms ever since the Conquest. They have reclaimed their ancestral seat and titles, thanks to the endeavors of Aegon Targaryen VI, along with the continued lineage that has since descended from him. Lastly, House Targaryen maintains control over their ancestral holding of King's Landing, Dragonstone, as well as a new summer residence, Caraxes' Hall.

Recent History
House Targaryen fought its way back onto the Iron Throne towards the tail end of the War of the Five Kings, ending 19 years of unlawful and disastrous rule over the Seven Kingdoms. Fire and Blood wrested control of the realm from Cersei Lannister and her allies, into the hands of its rightful ruler, King Aegon VI. What followed were forty seven years of steady recovering and rebuilding of the war torn realm. King Aegon VI ruled honorably and justly, diligently overseeing much of the major infrastructure revitalization projects that saw the realm brought closer together by means of travel. King Aegon took to wife the noble lady, Queen Shireen Baratheon, and had seven blessed children with her. Together, King Aegon and Queen Shireen ruled the Seven Kingdom's as the King and Queen of Plenty, overseeing meaningful marriage pacts among the great houses, refilling of the realms coffers and grainery's, and most of all, the young growing into adulthood without ever having to truly know what war was.  

Following Aegon VI, came his son, King Aelyx Targaryen the First. Molded from youth like his father, he ruled ably and justly. His reign saw the completion of many of his father's works and dreams; personally laying the last brick down on the northern most stretch of the King's Road, seeing Caraxes' Hall inhabited by his brother, Prince Aenys Targaryen, and the conquest of the Stepstones from the pirate king Aurion Highmark. The war, lasting from 353 to late 355 AC, saw the death of his own son and heir, Crown Prince Aerion Targaryen, along with many others. Singers beautify the war, but for those who battled upon those islands, the war was brutal and bloody, and for King Aelyx, rumors spoke of the price being too much. His final years of rule would see his nephew, Prince Corlys Targaryen named as Lord Paramount of the Stepstones, placing his own blood to rule over the islands. King Aelyx ruled from 349 to 357 AC, passing after falling ill after visiting the Wall.

With King Aelyx's heir dead, the crown passed to his young and inexperienced grandson, Crown Prince Haegon Targaryen. Still in his minority upon ascending to the throne the rule of the realm was overseen by his regent and small council. He was described as studious and eager, wanting to learn all he could to be a king worthy of the Iron Throne. His regency saw the gradual rebuilding of the Stepstones, sound marriage betrothals, and the Winter's Shivers epidemic. The epidemic had run its course by 361 AC, but not before taking the boy king's life, and marking the end of King Haegon's rule.
       
With the untimely death of King Haegon I, the realm and its burden of rulership passed to Prince Aerys Targaryen, now crowned the third of his name. While some quietly questioned his accession, due in part to Prince Aerys fondness for drink and spending more time with his Ironborn kin then at court, the new King took his role seriously enough to keep any doubts silent. His reign over House Targaryen saw trade grow once more, and at the behest of loyal bannermen, the signing of a small number of charters to help foster growth and prosperity within those selected settlements. Yet, even as he pleased some, others felt rebuked and ignored, both in writ and in marriage. Most troubling of all, were the rumors that his grandchildren, the twins Daemon and Daenora, were bastards actually fathered by his cousin, Prince Corlys Targaryen. While these rumors dogged the king, he prepared the realm as the dark clouds of war loomed distant on the horizon.  

Realm Relations
House Targaryen under the stewardship and rule of both King Aegon VI and his son, King Aelyx I sought to heal the wounds of old, while still ensuring an even dispensing of justice. This has lead to both the warm of relations with some Great Houses, while the cooling with other. However, in light of the factional nature of House Targaryen of late, it is best to look upon the four separate branches of the Targaryen royal family, and how they forge their relations as a whole.

Storyline Premise
The King and his son are across the Narrow Sea in Braavos, meeting with the Sealord himself after receiving a cryptic message. In their absence, the Hand of the King does his best to maintain rulership over the realm. Yet, powerful members of the royal family look upon the empty throne with covetous desire, and perhaps ask aloud, "Why not me?"

CharacterizationPrince Maekar Targaryen is slim and of above average height. He has straight silver-gold hair, deep violet eyes, and pale skin. With a face sculptured and imperious, a high brow, sharp cheekbones, and a straight nose, he cut the regal figure everywhere he went. Perhaps this pedigreed outward appearance, and the knowledge of being the Crown-Prince, is what slowly corrupted Prince Maekar over the years. He reveled more in the culture of the Iron Islands than he ever did of greater Westeros, enjoying especially close relations with his Harlaw and Saltcliffe kin. He was even preportedly to have fathered two bastards before his sixteenth nameday, though if such rumors are true, these children are unlikely to have been seen outside of the Iron Islands. 

What can best be said of the youthful prince, away from the little birds and straining ears of the Red Keep, is his arrogance and propensity to lie and manipulate those about him. He enjoys the pleasures of the flesh, especially those taken by the sword, or better remembered, the Iron Price. Whilst his father has done what he can to temper the young prince, Maekar has rejected the Faith of the Seven, eschewing towards more profane religious endeavors. To make matters worse, are the lengths he will go to in order to hide his true nature to his father and small council, for he is all of the shining example of courtly courtesy, smiles, politeness, all to hide a darker side. To a select few, they know he is cruel and vicious, a man that should he be angered, would enact a terrible cost to those who would dare deny him his divine rights as the next king.

Prince Daemon, the young son of Crown Prince Maekar, appears to be a healthy and happy baby. With dark indigo eyes, and dark coffee brown hair, he is the pride and joy of Princess Brella Botley, along with his twin sister, Princess Daenora Targaryen. However, some whispered tales, spoken perhaps by the Crown Prince's detractors, point out that the twins have the same hair and eyes of another Targaryen, even though Princess Brella does have dark chestnut hair.

Attributes & TalentsCrown Prince Maekar is a skilled archer and duelist, though preferring to keep his range from his foes. When combat brings him close to that of his opponent, he wields a wicked morning star with vicious tenacity, almost to the point where some think he may enjoy inflicting pain upon others. His skill is arms would be considered sufficient for one of his birth, whilst the skill of his bow and arrow are said to rival some of the best who ever lived. Beyond the realm of combat, Crown Prince Maekar is known to be a skilled angler, hunter, and sailor, having trained and studied with the famed Ironborn. Lastly, he posses strong physical fitness, being an avid swimmer and diver.

Personal Relations
House Harlaw - Of all the great houses of Westeros, Crown Prince Maekar favors the Lord Reapers of the Iron Isles. He reveres his uncle as almost a god like figure, the exploits of the old Ironborn of antiquity being a frequent favorite tale he would request. It is certainly known that he plans to have the Iron Men play a more active role in the realm, as well as name his uncle as his Lord Hand. Whats more, it is said, is his desire to have more than one wife, and that should he come to power, that he'd take a Harlaw cousin as his second wife. This all is clearly shown among close friends and kin, but for those on the outside looking in, they have concerns harbored quietly, less their whispers be heard. 

House Lannister - Crown Prince Maekar quietly let it be known that he does not like the golden haired usurpers of the Westerlands. During a tourney when he was sixteen, he took particular pleasure in the melee to break the arm of a Lannister kinsman, some Lannisport welp, he jested to friends around a campfire afterwards. He believed they got off too light from his Great Grandfather, and that perhaps it was time to name a new Lord Paramount to the Westerlands.

House Hightower, Redwyne, Tarly, and Tyrell - The Reach, while pretty, appears to be a land of food and plentiful arms. He has done what he can to curry favor there, perhaps to ill ends of his own desires. He enjoys wine from the Arbor in particular.

House Tully - He thinks they can be useful, and that those of the Riverlands would be more than happy to see the Lannisters taken down for their past crimes. To that end, it was his persuasive nature that helped coordinate the betrothal of his sister Princess Daena to the Tully heir, Ser Hoster. 

The Rest of the Noble Houses - "If they stand against me, they are my enemy's. Let them cast their lots, and we shall see what their fate shall be." - Crown Prince Maekar Targaryen to his Uncle Harrold Harlaw.

IdentityCorlys "The Black" Targaryen

RoleLord Paramount of the Stepstones, Lord of Bloodstone, Prince

CharacterizationBlack of hair, and darkest shade of violet eyes, Corlys Targaryen stands apart from his other kinsmen of House Targaryen. Standing tall and powerful, with broad shoulders, muscular arms, and a flat stomach, he inherited all of his father's and grand father's marshal natures, and refined them further still. Only his larger than normal ears betray any hint of his mother's influence, though oft not they are hidden behind his coal black hair which he wore long, flowing down to his shoulders in fine mane. Further adding to his dark features is his cropped and fine facial hair, framing his ruggedly beautiful features. More than any other of his Targaryen kin, Corlys looked every inch the warrior, with many speaking softly that perhaps he had the blood of Maegor in his veins.

A man who values martial strength first above all, he trained with the sword and shield from when he was old enough to wield them, able to defeat foes twice his age and size, relying on a brute strength and natural martial prowess. Since his youth as a diligent squire, he has trained to become among the most well renowned knights of the realm, though oddly, looking down upon the lists and those who joust as strutting cocks wasting their time. In the melee is where his shines the brightest, having personally taken the champion's purse from no less then twelve tournaments in his lifetime. Knighted by his father at fifteen, he went on to be his father's greatest champion, and then successor, when Prince Orys fell in battle upon the Stepstones. 

Corlys possess a rough charm to himself, a withering glare when angered, and a lightning quick speed in feats of martial prowess. He'd never lacked for women flocking to him, nor did he hide his frequent pleasures of the flesh, though such were certainly tempered to a degree with his marriage to Lady Arianne Connington. However, since her death, he has returned to his old haunts and places of silk and pleasure. Some whisper it is a curse of never wishing to be alone, while others elude to the sin of wanton lust. For Corlys, it is the desire to finally have a son all his own, to train and teach the boy to carry on all he has learned and more.

Attributes & TalentsOf this, little and more need to be said other than Corlys is a warrior through and through. Some jest to have never seen him outside of his armor, and that he is made of boiled leather and ringmail. While others think of honor and glory, Corlys looks at how best to defeat his opponent - honor be damned. An exceptionally talented swordsman, with the stamina and shoulders of a Bull Aurochs, he ferocity in battle is perhaps only matched by his wickedly deadly Valyrian Steel blade, Truth - a blade he took from the cold dead hands of a pirate lord upon the Stepstones. 

Let it not be said that all the man is known for is bloody combat, for he curiously is astutely studied in the laws of succession, and much to the surprise of those who know not of his earlier days, he even studied at the Citadel for a few seasons, going so far as to forge five links. Lastly, he is a talented armor smith, having learned from a Qohorik prisoner found in the dungeons of Bloodstone.

Personal Relations
House Martell - Closest in both terms of geography and relations, Prince Corlys Targaryen holds Dorne, and House Martell, in the highest of regards. When he is not busy with his duties upon the Stepstones, Corlys is often known to travel the warm deserts of Dorne with many a Dornishman and woman. Their proud people, storied history, and exotic cuisine, all come to a point when it concerns House Martell. The Blood of Valyria and the Blood of the Rhoynar flow through the veins of these close friends, and for Corlys, he has grown fond of Prince Tyrstanne, thinking of him as a distant uncle. The two men are said to enjoy lengthy conversations, fishing, hawking, and breaking bread. Corlys enjoys Dorne so much, that has has three bastard daughters from Dornish noblewomen, going so far as to even acknowledge them as his own.

House Baratheon - Storm's End and all its power are drawn close through the marriage of Princess Elaena Targaryen, his eldest daughter and heir, to Ser Brus Baratheon, heir to Storm's End. Prince Corlys in his youth toured much of the Stormlands, learning much and more of the regional storms that he would eventually deal with himself as the Lord Paramount of the Stepstones. He made inroads with the Baratheons, close family kin on both his mother's and grandmother's blood, building a close working relationship with the storied house. The world between the two houses grew much closer when geography made such visits closer and more frequent. Ambition and kinship marks Prince Corlys relations with Storm's End.

House Connington - Bound by marriage, the relationship between these two houses was rough at first, due to Prince Corlys habit of straying from the marriage bed. Yet, as time progressed, both the marriage between Prince Corlys and Lady Arianne Connington and the two houses improved. Each year, the two would visit the ancestral home of the Connington's to enjoy food, family, and festivities. Prince Corlys developed a strong sense of camaraderie with the lord of Griffin's Roost, Caryll Connington, both men being warriors through and through. Prince Corlys comfortably believes he can rely upon his nephew for support when such is needed.

House Florent - The house of his mother, and the woman he loved more than his own wife, he counts House Florent as among his closet friends and allies. To say he was devestated when his mother died, would certainly have been an understatement. Those that were near when he watched his mother pass before his very own eyes, said he raged for a full night and into the next day. The training dummy, and his own sword, were little more than scrap when he calmed down enough to lay the woman to rest. Since that day, he has worked to cultivate close relations with the Florents, and some elude to, perhaps to find a woman who looks like his own mother in her youth. Though, those that whisper such rumors do so at their own risk.

House Tyrell - A formerly loyal house, one that had changed its banner many times. Quick to abandon the dragons when it was convenient. Prince Corlys looks upon the Rose of Tyrell suspiciously, ever more so now that the Hand of the King is the Lord Paramount of the Reach. Their fate depends solely on how they decide upon acting should the Prince's ambitions come to fruition.  

House Lannister - The Lion, once proud and mighty, had been banished from the courts of the realm. While other lords and houses perhaps may follow tradition and the royal precedent, Prince Corlys in recent years has made an endeavor to strike up working and trading relations with the Lords of the Westerlands. They represent a powerful source of mineral wealth, and furthermore, an ancestral enemy of the Iron Islands. Of note, are the favorable accommodations that the Prince has chartered towards the Lord Lannister of Shame Isle, helping to build his domains richer and more alluring to investment.

House Harlaw - Bloody pirates and raiders, rapists and thieves, through and through. Even though they stood high in the favor of royal family, both in blood and station, Prince Corlys loathed them entirely. He never enjoyed their foreign nature, heathenistic god, vainglory, and ever troublesome desire for gold and thralls, they are the bane of the realm. The only good Ironborn is a dead one. 

The Rest of the Realm - In the words of the Prince, "They either stand with the Dragon, or they burn as Hoare did, with all his line."

CharacterizationFrom birth, Prince Gaemon Targaryen was a large and robust baby, his limbs large and stout, whilst his eyes shown the palest shade of lilac. Being of both Targaryen and Frey blood, he inherited all the good that each bloodline had to offer. A maester joked that he looked more of a stoat than a weasel, and that the dragon blood of old was clearly dominant. As he grew up, one thing became clear to those about the young prince, his humble and diligent nature. While others about the young man aspired for the stars, ambitious to the sense of madness, Prince Gaemon learned all he could about the lands before him, about his father's realm, and that of the Riverlands and its Lord Paramount. He enjoys sums and numbers, the nature of logistics, the time and effort of administration, in effect, how to be a truly superb steward.  

Gaemon only trait of excess would be in his desire for the finest silks, samites, and velvets to attire himself in. When asked, he kindly smiles, and points out that every man should strive to present an image fitting of their character. The Prince and lord of Ceraxes' Hall is kindhearted, courteous, charming, and soft-spoken, rarely ever raising his voice save when he finds himself at the feast hall. When not tasked with his duties, the prince delights in music and dance, and is a well known patron of singers, mummers, and mimes. For those considered friends, they can say with confidence that the prince is a good singer with a strong, sweet voice.

Attributes & TalentsLet it not be said Prince Gaemon could not handle a blade, spear, or lance. A well rounded man is a better man for all, as he trained himself in the arts of administration, he trained as a knight studiously. While other boys and men had greater natural talent, Prince Gaemon made up for all he lacked by being a diligent student who did not lack for courage. He would end up earning his spurs upon his eighteenth name day, much to the joy and delight of his father and family. However, he was no warrior, and while he lacked his father's strength, he made up for it with his intelligence. Should a lord ever find themselves at war, or need a man to oversee their baggage trains, Prince Gaemon has the midas touch to ensure things go smoothly.

Personal Relations
House Tully - The Lord Paramounts of the Riverlands, and a family who felt the all too real betrayal of the evil that once held sway over House Frey. Prince Gaemon, and his father before him, Prince Aenys, went to great lengths to see that their good kin were not persecuted for crimes they did not partake in, nor sully their honor with. Furthermore, Prince Gaemon looks to the Tully's as allies and friends, always making the effort to invite them for feasts and balls, seeing as the lands he occupied had once been counted as owing fealty to the the Riverlands. Lastly, less it be said otherwise, he deeply respects House Tully for fostering him when he was a youth, and seeing that he turned out into the man he is today.

House Frey, and all is cadet branches - They are family, and family sticks together to help one another. He enjoys time among his kin, and even more so when he is able to entertain them. As many a wandering bard and minstrel can attest, the halls of Ceraxes never lack for music and dance. He wishes to see his son betrothed to Frey maiden, either of the main branch, or one of its cadet houses, though his wife reminds him to keep an open mind.

House Redwyne and the Reach - Of all the beautiful and picturesque lands of the Reach, none compares to the paradise that is the Arbor. Many a time has the Prince traveled to the realm of chivalry and beauty, taken part in its dances and balls, the pageantry and revelry. Yet, he finds himself called to that island, and its ruling family more than any other. Perhaps it is a need to ensure fine wines are stocked aplenty at his keep, or mayhaps it is the company of a honorable family that he need not worry about petty court politics about. Whatever it is, Prince Gaemon counts House Redwyne as a close friend and trading partner, and as for his wife, fertile ground to plant the seeds of betrothal to grow into marriage.

House Stark - While he can not call himself their friend, nor their foe, he does look upon the stoic Northen Lords Paramount with a sense of awe and admiration. He has visited their realm at least four times in his life, each time saddened to leave, not knowing when he may again see the vast rolling plains and forests that make up the beauty that is the North. His true purpose for these visits, whether or not they ever did any good, was to apologize to the Stark gods for the wrongs his past kin had done unto the noble line of House Stark. He made it a point to leave an offering in the Godswood of Winterfell, perhaps in the hope that such an act would one day absolve the dreaded sin of breaking guest right by the blood of his mother's family.

 The Rest of the Realm - Westeros is a large kingdom, and by in large, its people honorable until proven otherwise. The Great Houses who rule their separate realms, each receives a yearly invitation to a summer ball at Ceraxes Hall, and for those that do attend, they leave with full belly's and content thoughts, for Prince Gaemon does what one can to put on a truly lavish feast.

CharacterizationUnlike the greater part of the royal household and blood, Prince Maelor cares for one thing above all else, purity. His parents are of the old right, brother and sister wed as husband and wife, as so was himself and his sister. His family, at the behest of his father Prince Maegon, married only those of proven Valyrian bloodlines and continued genealogical adherence to Old Valyria. Silver and gold of hair, violets and indigo of eyes, hearkening to the Dragonlords and their proud heritage, these matter much and more to a man who has spent nearly a decade compiling perhaps one of the most comprehensive genealogies of the great houses of Westeros. In his own words, "To ensure that my blood, and the blood of my children, is never contaminated with lesser breeding stock."  Never truly interested in courtly politics, nor the desire of the lesser blooded houses to dilute their blood, he has staunchly guarded his children against marriage and betrothal offers of those he would deem undesirable. 

Yet, to call him unloving or uncaring is a mischaracterization of the man entirely. Life is precious to him, with the losses of his two elder brothers and father felt deeply by him, but such compassion goes beyond that of his own family. He cares for all those that serve under his command, seeing each man as the sum total of the investment placed upon them. A drunken maester of the citadel explained it best, "Prince Maelor care for proper breeding and lineage goes beyond some haughty superficiality. He learned as a young man that when one does not cull sickness from a heard, it runs rampant and can destroy all that the farmer has worked towards. You laugh, but some of the finest warhorses are bred and reared by the Pureblood Prince... why else would Volantis and Lys and the other free cities come to his small parcel of land for much else?"

Lastly, less it be forgot, is of his features. Proud and sculpted, possessing the classical Valyrian features: pale skin, flowing silver-blond hair, and pale lilac eyes. Tall and lithe, he cuts a figure wherever he roams, with his features only slightly worn by many years upon the sea in his travels to study the bloodlines of the great families.

Attributes & TalentsA man of salt and smoke, born on Dragonstone amidst the belching of the great mount the island fortress clings to. While others trained in sword and shield, Maelor studied tactics and battlefield doctrine. He poured over old texts and scrolls, and above all, learned the lay of the land that is Westeros. The great painted table within Dragonstone became his favorite place to read and study, and when he was older, love with his sister. At his father's behest, he learned how to use a sword passably well, along with the shooting of the bow, but none could ever say he was truly a warrior. He earned his knighthood upon his twenty-second name day, but never any renown in tournaments or melees. Instead, he turned to his love of books, knowledge, and the ocean, for all the world is but a voyage away. And this is where he truly excelled, sailing.

The Dragon's Blood, a one hundred and sixty oared vessel, is the man's pride and joy. With Prince Maelor as the captain, this ship has traveled untold thousands of leagues across the seas, going as far as Asshai by the Shadow, before turning back for home. All told, Prince Maelor is best described as an able bodied seaman, a stellar navigator, an astute leader, a dedicated father, a well renown breeder of horses, and a studious archivist of genealogy.

Personal Relations
House Targaryen - They are family, by blood, and by marriage. Kin slaying is a reprehensible act against all the gods, new and old. Prince Maelor serves faithfully as the Steward of Dragonstone, and for all intents and purposes, appears to be content in doing so.

House Stark - A House of old blood, blood that harkens back to the First Men, before the Andals poured across Westeros. To that matter, all of the North retains its predominantly First Men heritage and bloodlines. Most have strong traits that make Prince Maelor curious, curious enough to have been traveling there in great frequency to learn more of its people and ways, and some whisper, to broach a marriage of mutual benefit between his eldest son and heir, to a fair maiden of proven First Men lineage and history. Whether that shall happen remains to be seen.

House Arryn - The Vale represents the first land upon which the Andals landed upon, with House Arryn being descended from those initial invaders. Aside from the passing curiosity of the history of their blood line, and the region's tactical advantages, Prince Maelor sees little in need of fostering relations.

House Tyrell - They serve as the current Hand of the King, and have served as the realm's breadbasket for decades beyond counting. Supposedly the region in which knights and chivalry originated from, Maelor has visited the Tyrell's more so for their knowledge of flowers and pollination, than anything else. He see's them as good folk, and helpful in his endeavors with breeding horses.

House Tully - The Riverlands has some of the best soil for growing plants outside of the Reach, and its overlords a wealth of knowledge of the region. Truth be told, Prince Maelor has fostered relations with the Tully's to learn more about the rumored wolf pack that is said to still haunt the forests of the Riverlands.

House Lannister - Gold of hair, green of eye, a family of which genetic traits are of a measure of note. Their past sins are of little regard to Prince Maelor, for he cares more about knowledge and truth, rather than who sits upon an old chair. In his life, he has thrice visited the Westerlands, each time feeling he came away with a bit more information.

The Rest of the Realm - The houses, both great and small, each have something to offer, and hopefully, what they offer is helpful, rather than needless clutter.

Thank you for your interest in this roleplay. I regret to say that the Boltons died out in 301 AC, after Stannis killed both Roose and Ramsay in battle. (Walda Frey gave birth to a daughter, thus ending the Bolton line.)

House Reyne too unfortunately died out a long time ago, in 261 AC. However, House Vikary is a good alternative, as their heraldry suggests historical lineage to the Reynes.

The following is an excerpt from the life's work of Archmaester Rallis, which recounts the golden reign of King Aegon the VI, and that of his decendants till the year 364 AC.

 "Perhaps unlike any king before him, his Grace King Aegon had been shaped for rule before he could walk. He was trained in arms, as befits a knight to be, but that was not the end of his education. He could read and write, speak several tongues, studied history and law and poetry. A septa instructed him in the mysteries of the Faith since he was old enough to understand them. He had lived with fisherfolk, worked with his hands, swum in rivers and mended nets and learned to wash his own clothes at need. He fished and cooked and bounded up wounds, knew what it is like to be hungry, to be hunted, to be afraid. Above all, Aegon knew kingship was a sacred duty, that a king must put his people first, and live and rule for them."


An introduction and invitation to B.R.O.W. Mk4

Blood Runs Over Westeros, Mk4, is the fourth variant of Bluetommy's original Blood Runs Over Westeros Game of Thrones roleplay. This version of the that fabled progenitor of GoT Roleplay centers around the reigns of Aegon VI Targaryen successors, as they struggle to reassert Targaryen rule over the Seven Kingdoms and the Iron Throne. In this timeline, starting in 364 AC, the world stands at the edge of chaos, and only time will tell whether or not those who stand upon the precipice can save themselves, or fall into the Seven pits of hell itself.

After the death and destruction of the War of the Five Kings, and the fabled Dawn War, Westeros crowned a new king, a rightful king. Aegon Targaryen the Sixth, true born son of Rhaegar Targaryen, who had been secreted away by Targaryen loyalists during Robert's Rebellion, returning almost twenty years later to reclaim his ancestral home and rightful crown. More than sixty years have now passed since that faithful landfall, a young king at the head of the Golden Company, conquering as his namesake had down in antiquity. Westeros bled, rebel and loyalist lords and knights fighting bitterly, pirates raiding freely, religious unrest, and above all, the dead walking down upon the realm itself. For the sake of brevity, Aegon VI ruled ably and wisely, ushering in an era of rebirth and revival for Westeros, before dying of a stroke in 349 AC, at the age of seven and sixty. Aegon VI ruled for forty-seven years, and after a grand state funeral, he joined his forbears among the Seven. 

Following Aegon VI, came his son, King Aelyx Targaryen the First. Molded from youth like his father, he ruled ably and justly. His reign saw the completion of many of his father's works and dreams, yet above all else, it saw the true conquest of the Stepstones once and for all. However, even though he is remembered for adding the great chain of islands to the Iron Throne, the war, lasting from 353 to late 355 AC, saw the death of his own son and heir, Crown Prince Aerion Targaryen, along with the untimely deaths of close friends and family, chief among them; Lord Desmond Mallister - his Goodson, Lord Jon Penrose - close friend and Master of Ships, Prince Orys Targaryen - his brother, Lord Manfryd Mooton - close friend and Master of Laws, and his two nephews, Princes Vaegon and Maegor Targaryen. Singers beautify the war, but for those who battled upon those islands, the war was brutal and bloody, marked by an Expeditionary Force sent from the Empire of New Valyria to defend the islands, before they withdrew as mysteriously as they appeared. King Aelyx would rule till 357 AC, falling ill after visiting the Wall, memorializing the sacrifices of those who had died defending the realms of men. Aelyx I ruled for eight years, with the crown and realm passing to his young grandson, Prince Haegon Targaryen.

Haegon Targaryen I's rule is remembered as the reign of regents and sickness. The Seven protect us all, yet when the Stranger calls, all men must answer, even kings. Ascending to the throne at seven, King Haegon did what he could to rule the realm, while in truth, his regents ran the realm whilst tutoring and molding the boy king for eventual rule. He was described as studious and eager, wanting to learn all he could as king in order to live up to the memory and deeds of his forebears. His reign saw the rebuilding of the Stepstones, naming of its Lord Paramount, and sadly, the arrival and ravaging of the Winter's Shivers. The exact arrival of this epidemic is not truly known, yet the Conclave agreed that it first started in the Vale of Arryn, before rapidly spreading across Westeros, striking down high and low born alike. It is believed that a unseasonably wet winter played a role in the diseases spread, which in the end, took the life of King Haegon and many of his kin. The epidemic burned itself out in 361 AC, marking the end of King Haegon's rule, and the realm passing to his uncle, Prince Aerys Targaryen.
    Notable Deaths of the Royal Family and Kin from the Winter's Shivers Epidemic:
Queen Shireen Baratheon, Queen Dagmara Harlaw, Princess Victaria Codd, Princess Alysanne Targaryen, Prince Aegon Targaryen, Princess Daella Targaryen, Lord Aemon Estermont, Princess Arianne Connington, Princess Rosamund Frey, Princess Rhaelle Targaryen, Lord Aenys Frey, Prince Daeron Targaryen, Prince Aemon Targaryen, Prince Maegor Targaryen, and Lord Quenton Sunglass.

With the untimely death of King Haegon I, the realm crowned his uncle Prince Aerys as king, with the Regent himself, who was serving as Hand of the King, placing the crown atop his head. King Aerys Targaryen the Third, second son of King Aelyx I, inherited a realm ravaged by disease and famine, yet this did not daunt him. Perhaps it is him many can thank for the swift actions he took in ensuring a second felling would not happen, as by his decree, the bodies of the dead were cremated, along with burning their belongings and anything else thought to be tainted by the diseases corruption. King Aerys III ruled for a year from a tent, traveling the realm in order to heal its wounds and hurts, working with his leal lords and Small Council to see that prosperity returned even to the smallest village. "A happy realm pays its taxes, a healthy realm invites honesty." He was said to have jested. Yet, even as he rebuilt his realm, dark words poured in from the East, of another war between New Valyria against Qarth and Volantis, dragons flying high above the Stepstones, and other less reputable rumors. Of this, we can only report on what we know to be true, that Volantis and Qarth allied together to defend against New Valyrian aggression in the Summer Sea, purportedly to repel their invasion of the Basilisk Isles, a long standing pirate and slavers den. Amid all this, King Aerys III abruptly departed for Braavos, speculation that the Master of Whispers had received information of great importance that needed the King's immediate attention and personal attendance to address. 

The last word of the King's whereabouts was of him leaving Braavos with his seven ships, bound for Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, and then south from there.

 The War of the Five Kings  - For the sake of brevity, and to not tell a history many other maesters have written about before, suffice to say, the war was blood and brutal, engulfing almost all of Westeros. King Aegon VI made his glorious return to the realm at the head of the Golden Company, slowing conquering the realm from the Stormlands onwards. In the chaos and madness, however, a tradgedy unlike any other occured in King's Landing - the raging inferno the destroyed the Great Sept of Baelor, taking many innocent lives in the conflaguration. This event would vilify Queen Cersei Lannister in the eyes of the realm, with many regarding her as the culprit behind the fire that killed the High Sparrow and others of note. In the North, King Stannis defeated the forces of House Bolton, and installed Rickon Stark as Lord Paramount, before returning to the Nightfort in order to prepare for defending the Wall against the army of the dead and their masters, the Others. Euron Crowseye fell in a great sea battle outside the walls of Oldtown, coming closer than any man in centuries to breaching the defenses of that great city. 
    The Siege of King's Landing - Considered the last great battle of the War of the Five Kings, King Aegon's vanguard forces soon surrounded the capital, as the king was still the Dornish Marches to meet with his new Dornish and Reach allies. We may never know what truly happened in the days leading up to the surrender of King's Landing, and the opening of the gates before Aegon VI Tagaryen, but what is known, is that Lord Commander Jaime Lannister carried his sister's lifeless body before the King, and surrendered the city to him.
 The War for Dawn  - A battle unlike any other in history, save perhaps the myths from the Long Night. Ravens flew all across the realm, calling all lords to rally their banners to the Wall, to answer King Stannis and his war to defeat the Others. Many would come to answer that call, chief among them, King Aegon VI himself. We do not know what was said between the two men, other than they agreed that their common enemy was the true threat to the realm, and to set aside their differences until after the battle.  The First Ten Years 302 to 312 AC  - King Aegon VI marked the start of his reign with his coronation in the Starry Sept of Oldtown, and one year later, his marriage to Shireen Baratheon in the same sept. However, not all in the realm were ready to rejoin the King's peace. Broken men and robber knights prowled the rural regions of the Riverlands, Westerlands, Crownlands, Stormlands, and the Reach, the bandits having to be hunted down and brought to justice. The fearless wolf packs in the Riverlands disappearing into the deep woods, though their howls were still heard at night. Spring would arrive in 304 AC, and with it, a chance to rebuild the damaged realm. The spring would be followed by a longer summer, which saw many a field return to prosperity and plenty.
 The Tattered Prince and the Faith Militant  - A poisoned apple left behind from the chaos of Queen Cersei, a band of fanatics and zealots rise up in rebellion (307 AC) proclaiming that their High Sparrow should rule the realm, and not the grandson of incest. Their rebellion lasts little more than six months, but their brutallity to others brought great condemantion widely across the realm, leading to their final defeat at the battle of Bitter Bridge.

One year later, the Tattered Prince, famed commander of the Windblown, called upon Prince Doran Martell to honor the agreement that he and his son, Prince Quentyn Martell, had signed back in Meeren. Honor bound, Dorne sailed to the aid of the Tattered Prince, with the help of Aegon VI and others who freely joined the expedition. In the end, Pentos fell to the Tattered Prince in a few short weeks, and saw him crowned as a king.
 313 to 349 AC, King Aegon VI's Glorious Reign  - King Aegon VI's reign was long and fruitful, of which saw the great rebirth of House Targaryen, fortuitous marriages, peace and plenty for all, aside from a small outbreak of the Grey Plague in 314 AC. King Aegon VI's greatest contribution to the realm, however, was the great renovations he oversaw to the network of roads all across Westeros. Starting in the Riverlands, his vision saw the demolition of Harrenhal for materials for the Kings Road, as well as the construction of a smaller, new castle near the former's location. He would also see to the revival of the Night's Watch, in part by having Jon Snow, lord of the Gift, pay his taxes to the Watch, and by hosting a yearly festival in remembrance of the War For Dawn.

Amidst the reports of dragons, New Valyrian ships, and Sellsword company recruiters, an envoy arrived from Braavos, bearing a message for the King alone. What it said, only the King and his Master of Whispers knew. Whatever it was, he left immediately for Braavos, sailing with seven ships to call upon the Sealord of Braavos.

Canon Precedence:
Players have the autonomy - within reason of course - to decide their House's history and how it played into the conclusion of the War of the Five Kings that saw Aegon Targaryen VI crowned as King of Westeros. Furthermore, as more of the story is revealed in a more indepth OOC page, should enough interest come to fruition, players are more than welcome to participate in key events in history that lead to the games start.


House Baratheon: Survived via the return of Edric Storm, who was legitimized at the behest of Queen Shireen Baratheon.
House Arryn: Robert Arryn mysteriously died... thus Harrold the heir took his place, and married Sansa Stark. Littlefinger?
House Stark: Good old Davos Seaworth brought Rickon back from Skagos, and King Stannis restored him to his rightful seat.
House Tyrell: Willas survived the sacking of Highgarden, and your line of pretty flowers descends from him.
House Lannister: Martyn, son of Kevan, is your source of golden haired fun.
House Tully: Restored to Riverrun via King Aegon VI, Edmure and Roslin are your main bloodline.
House Harlaw: Stannis burned Theon as a sacrifice, Asha was married off, and King Aegon named Harlaw the new Lord Reapers.

    House Florent: They lost Brightwater Keep, them darn Tyrells. However, Queen Shireen granted them Tarth, as old Lord Selwyn left no heirs.
House Connington: Lands and wealth restored, along with being lords again. Thanks Aegon VI.
House Redfrey: Emmon Frey and Genna Lannister, after losing Riverrun, take the lands of Hollard Hall as their own.
House Frey of Darry: The bastard is never legitamized, with the lands of Darry now ruled by the children of Amerei Frey and Lyle Crakehall.
House Frey of Rosby: Olyvar Frey takes the lands of his distant kin, having already been there as the late Lord Rosby's ward.
House Frey of the Crossing: A localized civil war breaks out over the rule of the Crossing when old Lord Walder dies. However, outside help comes from the Vale, as the Waynwood Freys get family blood line support. They end up removing Black Walder Frey from power and his allies, turning them over for the King's Justice for their role in the Red Wedding. ((Walton Frey and Deana Hardyng bloodline rule now - Steffon, "Fair" Walda, and Bryan Frey.))
House Hornwood: Restored via the bastard, Larence Snow being legitimized.
Other Houses that are not extinct, but lost lands due to the war: Within reason, they are returned their ancestral lands.


Extinct Houses: 
War is bloody and brutal, and sometimes, certain Houses go extinct due to their black reputation. House Karstark ceases to be ((1. Replaced by House Thenn, and also because Stannis burned a whole bunch of Karstarks for his Red god. House Bolton is gone, with both Roose and Ramsay dying on the field of battle, and Walda Frey giving birth to a daughter. House Greyjoy is gone too, replaced with House Codd ruling Pyke now. House Clegane is dead... etc. You get the point, a number of Houses went the way of the Hoares, nothing but ashes. Applying for these houses will not be options, not even some random bastard, copy. Most other houses are open for talking points due to the precedence of player autonomy.

Historical Casualties: 
Aegon VI did not take control of Westeros with some ink and a signature. Many a man and woman died in that war, fighting for their respective sides. Members of the Golden Company, Margaery Tyrell in the Sept "fire" along with other Tyrell's ((At the player's discretion)), Stannis Baratheon at the Wall, etc, etc. Basically, if a character doesn't make much sense living past their necessary footprints, they're probably dead. Discussions will be open, but remember convincing arguments are as good as Valyrian steel. ((Most folks are dead by now anyhow, due to the timeline.))

The following is an excerpt from the life's work of Archmaester Armen, which recounts the golden reign of King Aegon the VI and his son King Orys I to 365 AC.

Blood Runs Over Westeros, Mk5, is the fifth iteration of Bluetommy's original Blood Runs Over Westeros Game of Thrones Roleplay. This GoT Roleplay centers around the reigns of Aegon VI Targaryen and his son King Orys I Targaryen, as they diligently and ambitiously reasserted Targaryen rule over the Seven Kingdoms from the Iron Throne. Starting in 365 AC, in the midst of prosperous spring, the realm is gathered around the tourney grounds of Harrenhal, called forth to celebrate King Orys I 59th birthday. With a treasury said to be overflowing unlike any pervious era in history, the King and his small council have spared no expense on these celebrations. Yet, among all the glittering gold and flowing banners, forces almost certainly plot in the shadows.

After the death and destruction of the War of the Five Kings, and the fabled Dawn War, Westeros crowned a new king, its rightful king. Aegon Targaryen VI, the true born son of Rhaegar Targaryen who had been secreted away by Targaryen loyalists during Robert's Rebellion, returned almost twenty years later to reclaim his ancestral home and rightful crown. More than sixty years have now passed since that faithful landfall with the young king at the head of the Golden Company reconquering the Iron Throne. Westeros bled, rebels and loyalists alike fighting bitterly, pirates raiding freely, a rearmed Faith Militant, and above all, the undead walking down upon the realm itself. For the sake of brevity, Aegon VI ruled ably and wisely. As king, he mended the realm through marriage alliances, just and honorable decrees, and ushered in an era of rebirth and revival for Westeros. Perhaps fate is cruel for in 355 AC, at the age of seventy-three, a deadly outbreak of the plague broke out in King's Landing, and though his swift action prevented further spread of the plague, Aegon VI and many others within King's Landing fell victim to the plague. Aegon VI ruled for fifty-three years, with his reign compared to that of King Jaehaerys I in all that he accomplished. In the end by his own decree, his body and all of the others who had died of the plague within the Red Keep, Aegon VI was cremated upon a great funeral pyre and his crown passed to his son and heir, Prince Orys Targaryen.

Following Aegon VI's death, came his son King Orys I Targaryen. As the crown prince had been living upon Dragonstone, King Orys I escaped the outbreak of the plague. Molded from youth like his father, he has ruled ably and justly. His reign saw the completion of many of his father's works and dreams, as well as a few of his own. Yet, King Orys reign is more than a collection of public works projects and realm mending like that of his father. Orys ensured that the Iron Throne was no longer indebted to any lord or outside bank, using collected spoils from a number of expeditionary wars fought upon the Stepstones, Disputed Lands, and even as far as the hinterlands of Volantis. His greatest test of character came in two particular events that all throughout the realm still remember. First, in 359 AC, when the Faith Militant rose up in full armed rebellion, and second, in 361 AC, when his son and heir was accused of murdering his wife in a drunken lovers quarel. The debacle of Crown Prince Corlys is a story for another time, but let it be noted that the Prince remains in exile. 

The Faith Militant Rebellion of 359 AC, lasting until early 361 AC, was a religious war of fanatical violence. Sparrows, Warriors Sons, and all the rest of the zealous faithful, rose up behind a false High Septon, a man of dubious claim to noble blood. While in hindsight, many would say this rebellion could have been averted had this High Septon been imprisoned when he were but a Poor Fellow, in truth, the Faith Militant was a festering sore due to burst regardless of who led it. The bulk of the violence was contained between the borders of Dorne and the North, the Faith Militant having siezed the Stary Sept as their bastion of power. In the end, the war devolved from open conflict of organzied armies into a series of scattered violent battles and sieges centered around places of worships controlled by the fanatics and their allies.

Now, only one issue stands before King Orys I reign. The line of succession.

 The War of the Five Kings  - For the sake of brevity, and to not tell a history many other maesters have written about before, suffice to say, the war was blood and brutal, engulfing almost all of Westeros. Book Lore vs HBO Lore: 
This world is primarily based on the novels written by George R.R. Martin, however, certain events depicted within the T.V. show will be grafted in to the overall lore and timeline of this RP. ((E.x. The destruction of the Great Sept of Baelor by Queen Cersei Lannister, the Sacking of Highgarden,)) When in doubt, refer to the books over the show when crafting your historical progress through the years. 

Canon Precedence:
Players have the autonomy - within reason of course - to decide their House's history and how it played into the conclusion of the War of the Five Kings that saw Aegon Targaryen VI crowned as King of Westeros. Furthermore, as more of the story is revealed in a more indepth OOC page, should enough interest come to fruition, players are more than welcome to participate in key events in history that lead to the games start.


House Baratheon: Survived via the return of Edric Storm, who was legitimized at the behest of Queen Shireen Baratheon.
House Arryn: Robert Arryn dies from his long running health problems. Harrold Hardyng is proclaimed Lord Robert's heir, legitamized by King Aegon VI, and married Sansa Stark.
House Stark: Ser Davos Seaworth brought Rickon back from Skagos, and King Stannis restored him to his rightful seat.
House Tyrell: Willas survived the sacking of Highgarden, among other non-mainline Tyrells.
House Lannister: Lord Martyn, son of Ser Kevan, is the ruler of House Lannister.
House Tully: Restored to Riverrun via King Aegon VI, Edmure and Roslin are your forebears.
House Harlaw/Greyjoy: With King Stannis burning Theon as a sacrifice, Asha being married off, Euron and Aeron dying in combat, and Victarion presumed lost at sea, House Greyjoy ceased to exist. King Aegon VI names House Harlaw as the new Lord Reapers of the Iron Islands.
House Martell: Princess Arianne becomes the ruler of House Martell after her father dies of old age/complications due to his health. You have free reign to choose your paramour, and the rest.
    House Florent: Though they lost Brightwater Keep to the Tyrells, Queen Shireen grants them the Lordship of Tarth. Lord Selwyn Tarth dies without male heirs, and Lady Brienne never marries.
House Connington: Their lands, wealth, and lordship are restored by decree of King Aegon VI.
House Redfrey: Emmon Frey and Genna Lannister, after surrendering Riverrun to King Aegon VI, are granted the lands of Hollard Hall as their own.
House Crakehall of Darry: The Darry bastard is never legitamized due to his death during the Dawn War. The Darry Lands and titles remain with Lady Amerei Frey and Lord Lyle Crakehall, and that of their children.
House Frey of Rosby: Olyvar Frey takes the lands of his distant kin, having already been there as the late Lord Rosby's ward.
House Frey of the Crossing: A localized civil war breaks out over the rule of the Crossing when old Lord Walder dies. Many of the senior male Freys are killed in the bloodletting, until a coalition force led by King Aegon VI and Lord Edmure Tully intervenes. Due to House Frey's role in the Red Wedding, weighed between the calls of vengeance, justice, and mercy, King Aegon VI and Lord Edmure come to the following agreement. House Frey is stripped on the Twins, and reduced to landed knights. Surviving members of House Frey who were guilty of breaking guest rights are either executed or sent to the Night's Watch. Lastly, with the loss of the Twins, House Frey ends up becoming landed knights in service to House Redfrey.
House Hornwood: Restored via the bastard, Larence Snow being legitimized.
Other Houses that are not extinct, but lost lands due to the war: Within reason, they are returned their ancestral lands.


Extinct Houses: 
War is hell. Certain Houses have gone extinct due to their black reputations. House Karstark ceased to be ((1. Replaced by House Thenn, 2. King Stannis burns Arnolf, Arthor, and three male Karstarks for treason, sacrificing them to R'hllor.)) House Bolton is gone, with both Roose and Ramsay dying on the field of battle, and Walda Frey giving birth to a daughter. House Greyjoy is gone, replaced with House Codd ruling Pyke now. House Clegane is dead... etc. You get the point, a number of Houses went the way of the Hoares, nothing but ashes. Applying for these houses will not be options, not even some random bastard, copy. Most other houses are open for talking points due to the precedence of player autonomy.

Historical Casualties: 
Aegon VI did not reclaim control of Westeros without bloodshed, nor was the Dawn War. Many men and women died in those wars, fighting for their respective sides. Members of the Golden Company, Margaery Tyrell in the Sept "fire" along with other Tyrell's ((At the player's discretion)), Stannis Baratheon at the Wall, etc, etc. Basically, if a character doesn't make sense living past their necessary footprints, they're probably dead. Discussions will be open, but remember convincing arguments are as good as Valyrian steel. ((Most folks are dead by now anyhow, due to the timeline.))
